Amazing atmosphere and super friendly staff. The cinnamon buns are a MUST try. The space is also quite large and inviting and perfect for getting out of the house if you work remotely. I was able to take meetings with no problem.

Our favourite place to get delicious coffee beans that are roasted in house. So thank you for getting up so early all these years roasting those beans, baking delicious cinnamon buns! ! Love welcoming atmosphere for meeting a friend for a piece of yummy quiche. Always nice to see Sunshine- she is a very kind human!

Our friend brought us some cinnamon buns from here... we live in Winnipeg... I will pay anyone to bring us Cinnamon buns if they travel here. LOL DELICIOUS! BEST I'VE EVER HAD!!!

This was a welcoming and sociable environment to have my morning coffee along with a delicious, warm cinnamon bun. The employees are friendly and helpful and put care into their food. Would definitely recommend this place on Saturday morning for the buns!

Let me paint you a picture. It's a Wednesday morning, and you are walking down the Hamilton Street. You notice the aroma of cinnamon buns slowly pulling you in to Green Spot Café; you just cannot resist it. As you enter, the sign greets you, "A Great Day Starts Here." You know that it will be since you catch a glimpse of glistening cinnamon buns ahead waiting for you to order it. I think that is usually is the case every cinnamon bun days (Wednesdays & Saturdays) because people are lining up for it; it really is that worth it. One of the great aspects of the café is that they are really hands-on. They roast their coffee beans, and you can buy them too (whole bean or ground of your choice). The food products are homemade (from cinnamon buns, cheesecakes, muffins, to the lunch items etc). As well, the baristas are friendly. The place itself is bright and well-lit with a touch of a modern vibe, as it is located in the downtown area. I would say that the café is ideal for cute dates, a group hangout, or for studying alone (wifi for your internet needs).

Best cinnamon buns in town, hands down. They only make them in Wednesdays however, Unless you order ahead of course. Not sure on minimums there but, I'm pretty sure no Max order, I've seen 3 racks in 1 order before Their other baked goods are also up there! Definitely worth the stop. Have yet to try the coffee, but have heard good things.

This place is really packed. I came to do some work and have a latte. So I'm speaking for only the latte. Its mediocre at best, very generic. It is obvious that they do not specialise in crafting coffee based beverages. So the main draw is obviously the food. The decor is quite modern, simple and clean. There seem to never be enough room to sit and chill.

Outstanding cinnamon buns. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is I was explained some kind of deal by the worker, for cinnamon buns. She made it out like if I buy two bags of them you get a 3rd bag free. I literally asked if that is the deal to make sure. She said yes. I paid and she hands me two bags + 1 free cinnamon bun. It’s a bad deal, so don’t fall for it haha. Especially if you only came for 4 buns in the first place. Either way. Good place to get cinnamon buns.

Coffee shop that tries too hard with the vegetarian only food items. Have also been served Luke warm coffee before and most of the quiche isn't the freshest. There are better options downtown but it is decent in a hurry.

Plenty of selections. Drip coffee was ok but not great, little on the weak side. Not sure about espresso based drinks. Would be nice to have something a little more 'breakfast' oriented in the egg department. Nothing at all there, just baking.

Don't go if you have food sensitivities!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Went with my girlfriend who's severely gluten intolerant. Website has a gluten free section which says they sometimes have gluten free veggie lasagna. I walked up and asked if they have the gluten free veggie lasagna today. The guy said yes. I asked if it's gluten free, he said yes. Then my gf mentioned how the other items had a specific gluten free sign but the lasagna didn't. She asked again if it was gluten free, he said yes. Then I asked the same question and got him to clarify that absolutely for sure it was gluten free, and he said that the top shelf in the display was all gluten free. Then my gf asked one more time to be sure beyond sure. Not kidding, a good 1/2 dozen times total. We asked so many because he had a very thick asian accent and would answer us in the strangest ways, but always with a really quick yes (but it seemed we never had his full attention). He'd immediately talk about soups or salad or something and was completely confusing us. Long story short, we figured we were okay because we were in a veggie restaurant that had a gluten free menu section.

The owner came over after our meal to offer us a cookie and I asked if it was gluten free. She said no, then she mentioned the lasagna wasn't either. We told her what went on and she seemed genuinely apologetic, and said how the employee was new and she'd train him better etc. We got a partial refund and just left, totally stunned. Then I looked at the website when we got home and the veggie lasagna was listed under quiches! Eggs make me feel sick and I was wondering why it was sitting heavy and had a strange texture, but I just ignored it and kept eating. Now I'm at home feeling like lead is in my stomach because I had no idea I was getting a quiche because the sign just said "veggie lasagna", and my gf knows from experience how bad a reaction can be after consuming a tiny bit of gluten in a dipping sauce. This was a whole portion of lasagna. Obviously we will never go back and are absolutely livid.

Best buns in town!!. Had a tray of cinnamon buns brought into the office the other day. They were absolutely delicious. Didn't need any extra butter or anything. Perfect the way it came.

Wonderful. Amazing food and owners. Gluten free options and they will take any custom orders. Highly recommend.

Can't get enough.. They have the best London Fogs and cinnamon buns ever. I go there way too often. It's the best!

Good Food. Nice vegetarian options and reasonable price-food quality consistent..

I had a cinnamon bun from here the other day and it was so delicious! I would recommend a visit on Wednesdays and Saturdays!

Cinnamon buns. I've been a fan of this place since it opened years ago. Sunny makes the BEST spicy onion soup and I also love the paninis, pasta salad, quiche, and their selection of lattes. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, she makes some of the greatest cinnamon buns you'll ever have! But, be sure to get there early because they go quick. If you call the day before, you can special order a dozen to pick up the next day to assure your taste-buds :) Great service, great little local spot!

I recommend this place to everyone. There are so many things to love about this locally owned and operated "spot"! The owners are really in the business for the love of what they do, and that shows in the quality and uniqueness of their food! Cinnamon buns are the best, just simply the best I have had in my life. The coffee options are endlessly delisicous! The green tea smoothy is crazy addicting! Pasta salad, best one out there! Quiche, of all varieties, amazing! But my favorite, hands down, is they dumplings. Hot, cold, with sauce, without, it really doesn't matter because they are so tasty either way. Keep up the great work Green Spot!!

All of their sandwiches with the veggie ham in them are great! However, their drinks are wayyy too expensive! Most of them are $5 or more for just a small

Not great. I thought there would be more vegan options at this vegetarian cafe. I was a first-timer and asked what was vegan. The woman at the counter didn't really know. She listed off some salads and a sandwich that they could leave the cheese off of.... They can do the same thing at McDonald's. I had the curried soup and steamed bun. The soup was really spicy, which surprised me. The bun was interesting, but I thought the filling was too sweet... or too savoury... too much of both, not enough of one. Overall, kind of disappointing, but I'll try it again someday.

Also, they do NOT have wifi! weird.

Quick decent lunch. In town on business and stopped here twice. Enjoyed the soup both times with a biscuit. Decent food quick service and friendly staff.

Yum!. Best cinnamon buns in the city if you're early enough to grab one...or two...

Service needs work. Despite serving a lot of gluten-free foods, the serving staff have almost no information about the ingredients of their products and can offer little help to anyone suffering any other allergies. It never fails to amaze me that a restaurant that does all of their own baking does not keep an ingredients list behind the counter for servers to refer to. Allergies, sensitivities and other dietary restrictions are so common these days, it seems common sense!

The server eventually found a replacement bun to go with my soup that I wasn't allergic to - but didn't tell me I'd be charged $3 extra for it (they consider it a combo at that point). That was disappointing.

On the upside: the food is nice, the atmosphere is pleasant, and they sell a variety of coffee beans!

Their quiche and sandwiches are great! Cannot even tell your not eating meat

Gluten Free. I'm so happy that the Green Spot has delicious looking - and tasting - gluten-free options. The Sun-dried Tomato Feta Pie was awesome!

I am not sure about this place yet. Yes, all the pies and quiches looked great behind the counter, but when my vegetarian lasagna came out (I assume it was reheated in the microwave) it had lost its appeal. It would probably taste way better out of an oven too. The Green Spot salad that goes with it was a joke. Not even worth talking about.

I might come back to try a sandwich one day but there is some decent competition in this segment.

Amazing lunch!!. Wow, am I ever glad I decided to stop into this cafe for the first time, and take the time to enjoy the food instead of taking it to go. I had Sundried Tomato/Spinach quiche with garden salad, and a dill/sesame bun. UNREAL. I was particularly impressed because the quiche was crustless...and the filling was substantial and dense enough that you didn't even miss it! And the dill/sesame loaf.....my mouth is still watering and I finished lunch an hour ago! I will definately be back!!

Tasty vegetarian food. I heard this place has the best cinnamon buns in the city so had to try it. I'm not sure if they are the best but if not, they are pretty close. Baked only on wednesday and Saturday, the buns are popular. My other faves there are the vegan curry soup and the crystal dumplings.

Best London Fog. The last place downtown that seems to use good earl grey. Fantastic Cinnamon Buns and great muffins.

Yummy. One of my favourite places for lunch and dessert. Love the sundried tomato sandwich, dessert squares and cinnamon buns. Super yum.

Veggie food can taste good. whaaa?. Always impressed with Greenspot. I'm not a veggie but I appreciate their health conscious menu. Hot&Sour soup is always tasty and that little bun hot pocket type thing that comes with the soup is so comforting. Fast service which is appreciated when on a work lunch hour. I've tried the sandwiches too and they are quite good as well. Give veggie a try!

Vegan Restaurant. The majority of their food selection is vegetarian and/or organic. I've been there three times for lunch only. They claim to have the best cinnamon buns in the city, but I have not been able to try them myself. I am not a vegetarian, but I "feel" healthier after eating here. They also have a large coffee bean selection, once you walk inside, it's very hard to miss.

Located downtown, parking can be a pain.

Very fast service, and unique selection of food. All the food is very light in substance, but very delicious. I recommend their Hot & Sour soup, it's a soup of the day, unsure of the particular day. Great for a quick light lunch. Atmosphere is like a standard cafe. Bring your vegan friends here!

Yum!!. BEST cinnamon buns in the city. Oooey gooey caramel pecan cinammon buns. YUM!! Unfortunetly they are only made on Wednesday and Saturday.

I love going to this place! Tried their quiches, vegetarian lasagna, cinnamon buns, vegetarian sushi, vegetarian steam bun, soup, tofu fish, crystal dumplings... I haven't complaint once!! They were all very good! If you happen to see their chocolate toffee cake, this is a must try! The cake is very light and the cream is quite light. :)
Glutenfree
Excellent food, Friendly staff!. This little cafe hidden downtown is a gem for gluten free (and regular) baking and lunches. They make amazing scones, muffins and treats as well as quiches, soups and salads. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable regarding food allergies. One warning.. Go early if you want to catch the fresh baking, cinnamon buns, etc - they go fast!
