Review Freshii - Red Deer

The alarming number of 5 and 4 star reviews for this place is reflective of what’s here. Stunning views, lots of wildlife around, this is a huge reason of what makes Red Deer great. The air smells so fresh, the oaths are ready to walk on, and the nature centre building is super fun to walk through and learn things about this place. Never a bad time :)

Kerry wood is a wonderfull place, but the pictures of the tall red climbing structure and slide, and zip line, are at Gateway Christian school south of Kerry wood just north of the memorial center.

Just held my son's 6th birthday party there. The interpreter Raeleen was wonderful and interactive with the kids. The only small constructive comment I would leave would be maybe to have an extra interpreter there to help if needed, but over all it was wonderful!! The kids seemed to have a good time doing the program for them. Definitely will recommend to other friends.

Kerry wood nature center is amazing, great Flora and fauna to be seen. The leaves and trees were lush with the previous rain 🌧 Had such a beautiful cool hike with our kiddos, they thought they going on a forest hike. Will be back soon. Love the colors of fall on the trails

We have been to the nature centre several times and each time we have found it a wonderful place for walking and bird watching. However we were there yesterday and for the first time visited the indoor facilities. We were very impressed. The walk through nature centre was very interesting for adults and children, and very informative about animals, birds, and their habitats. It was so nice to have the comfortable settees, and even a piano which anyone could play. The washrooms were very clean and how lovely to have a painting of deer on the doors. The gift shop had a wonderful selection of gifts for children and adults, and the staff were pleasant and helpful, and told us about the different walks at the back of the facilities. We appreciated the coolness of the building after being in the heat. Many thanks to you all for providing this beautiful place. We hope to visit again soon.

The trails are great... but I've got to be honest and give this place 3/5 stars. The interactive exhibits rarely work as intended... which is a HUGE bummer. You'd think this place would capitalize on being the only relevant nature center in Red Deer. An urban connection would be nice. July 7 update: Interactive exhibits are working! 5 stars!

Always a peaceful place to walk alone and feel safe. You may see different kinds of birds, ducks, geese and other animals too. I have also seen moose rabbits and deer. They occasionally have a heard of goats come to do weed-eating, and those are adorable.

Great place to go do a nature walk! The education center is lovely and the staff are friendly. Will be back - with my camera next time!

I can’t say enough great things about the preschool program and Mrs Nancy in particular. My daughter still raves about her time there and reminisces on all of the amazing lessons she learned while on adventures during Forest Friends from the early winter in 2021 to June 2022. Bless you and your great big heart for enriching the minds of these little explorers. She says Mrs Nancy taught her how to be funny! Cutest thing. Really touched her heart

The trails here are some of the best I've been on. It's one of my favourite discoveries. The views can be pretty great around the back side. Pack water and snacks.
