Review Saro's Restaurant - Red Deer

We ordered last night I ate cheese toast and chicken caesar salad and I got food poisoning been up all night sick then my fiancé ate the other garlic toast and it had a huge chunk of mould on the bread! Definitely do not recommend it was also expensive for mouldy bread!

The food was so good had cauliflower pizza crusy was delish. There was 7 of us and they all said the food was great. For sure will go there again when in Red Deer.

My sister and I had lunch there, both were bad. I had donair in supposed Greek restaurant that had bad tzatziki sauce instead of sweet sauce. Meat was extremely dried out also

I've been coming to Saros since I was three. I came back to Red Deer to see my hometown and see what's changed. Saros is exactly as I remembered it!! The Greek Salad is hands down the best in Red Deer! And the dressing.....nectar of the salad gods! Definitely get the salad. Definitely take a jar of dressing to go. You'll thank me later.

Med rare 6 Oz steak over cooked an looks like the back was cut off Greek salad with only 3 olives with huge seeds in them also who puts a huge amount of lettus in a Greek salad the best part of the salad was the dressing

Our server is polite enough, the calamari portion was massive for the price but very salty, the Greek salad was very oily, the Greek style ribs were on point as was the moussaka. The sides were meh, but I'll be back.

Haven't been here in a long time. Forgot how truly amazing the food is. And the staff are wonderful as well.

Food is always consistently good. The absolute best Greek Salad dressing ever.

Saro's is a Red Deer classic. It's old school but the food is really good. Best pizza in town, delicious Souvlaki andy favourite Greek salad!

NEVER AGAIN!  Work just around the corner and have gone in for both eat in and take out many times in the past.  Have found that the food has been steadily going downhill for a few months now.  Prices are getting higher and food is getting much worse.  Ordered lasagna with extra cheese today, took 40 minutes to get our food and it was burned, cheese was so hard I had to scrape it off and pretty sure I got charged anyway even though I asked her to adjust the bill.  The server was just plain rude to us, we did nothing to deserve having her act this way, it wasn't that busy so have no idea why it took so long for our food and why the staff was in such a bad mood but doesn't matter, you don't take your bad day out on your customers!  If I could give them a zero I would.

Wish I Went to Boston Pizza instead...... We try very hard to support independent restaurants instead of chains. We love homemade food, tasty flavours and friendly service. The food at Saro's was beyond disappointing. Greek salad dressing dished out of a plastic bucket behind the bar, caesar salad dressing that has less flavour than no name bottled dressing and tsaziki that had so much garlic that i couldn't eat it (and i adore garlic!) My 3 year old son even asked, "is this supposed to be garlic bread?" that was served with his spaghetti that our 9 year old described as, "3 day old gravy with meat in it." Everything we ordered was very substandard and overpriced. The service was ok, however there was an error on our bill. We would have preferred Chef Boyardee. ...

Amazing Food and Service. I am very surprised by all these negative reviews because I have never had a negative experience there. The food is delicious and you get a good serving of food. The service is great! If you are looking for more "Greek" food then go at night for the night menu which provides more Greek options. I would highly recommend Saro's for a good eat out.

Greek salad tasted good...but 3 olives only. The rest was overcooked and tough. Had the dinner for two with a sampling of everything Greek. Service was good but I think since it was late Sunday evening we got warmed up crusted food left over.

All around Awful. The service....Waiting for over 15mins to be acknowledged by a rather rude waitress who clearly didn't want to be there. Had to drink my coffee black because I got tired of waiting for the cream.<br/><br/>The Food....Moussaka was bland, overcooked, and greasy. My husband had the pork Souvlaki on a pita with a greek salad. Salad greasy and Pita was so greasy the bread turned into mush

An experience i wish I had missed. We had the veal parmesan ( processed veal burger caked with cheese) sauce tasted like ragu. Only good thing I can say is that the waitress was pretty. I would rather eat presidents choice tv dinners. I hear their pizza isn't bad but hey who can't make pizza. Expensive too.

AYYYYYYY. OMG so last time I went to your restaurant was a l00000ng @$$ time ago but fo real I wanted to tell you and da others about how real y'all play. Homies listen UP! if y'all want pizza an I ain't talkin cheap 2 4 1 pizzas but some pies you can really savor and enjoy at a deep level you mo fuggas order from here cause FO REAL DIS PLACE HAS GOT DA BEST PIES IN THE 403! BIG portions!. Make sure you are hungry if you want to eat here, had to pack up a to go box for the first time in years! really enjoyed the bruschetta (although not served traditionally, it was quite tasty!) Only one waitress on staff (who was really friendly, I might add) provided great service, although we went on a monday so weekend visits may be hectic. Reasonable pop prices in an over-priced soda world were a nice + as well!

Best Pizza and Ribs in Red Deer... And their house dressing on the Greek salad is mmm mmm mmm!!!!

Well I thought it was great. Am surprised by the extreme negative reviews. Manage your expectations - if you want true Greek, come see me in Calgary and we'll go to MykONos

Well didnt think this restaurant was a big hit for me , the Bruschetta was a joke it was slide on a Texas Toast.food not so great but the hospitality was great waitresses were really nice.

Very Disappointing. I am extremely confused why this place is being referred to as "vegan-friendly" and I am going to request that be changed. A friend of mine and I went in here searching for vegetarian food on the way back to Calgary. Someone recommended for us to go here and I was not pleased with the results. There was no more than two vegetarian options on the menu; in fact, I think there was just one. I asked the waitress for advice on what to order and she told me to take the pizza. After all, what else was veg-friendly? The pizza was as thrilling as it was Greek- aka not at all. And it certainly wasn't vegan. The service wasn't bad, nor was it great for us being the only people in the restaurant. The menu options seemed scattered and nothing was authentic or true to Greek fare. I won't go again.

Great ribs and pasta. I would reccomment the Greek Ribs or any of the baked pasta dishes

Critic. My wife and I went to this restaurant last week. The food is not good, far too salty, the service sucks, one waitress for the entire restaurant. All in all, probably the worst dining experience we have had in the last ten years. The Greek food was a joke, the salads, at best were edible. I will never enlighten the doors of this place again, nor will I ever recommend it to my friends. Better off at Ronnie Macs. This place is disgusting.
