Review Westlake Grill - Red Deer

I bought the romantic vacation package I believe itโ€™s called. The jacuzzi room that came with the package was nice. Big like a hot tub. The slay ride and five course meal was nice. But as I find out and five course meals are a thing stretched out. Something to keep in mind. All in all it was a good weekend in red deer. Something to try once.

Went for a visit the other day and it was very relaxing, clean and beautiful out !! People going by on the walking trails, great staff, just beside the river and lots to see especially if you're into horses ! Say hi to Joel when you go ! He's the owner and he does a great job running that place

We had a great experienced exploring the area. We walked in the morning. Lots of amazing scenery. Lots of trails. Walking trails are mixture of pave and gravel, depends on which trail you will take. There is a pond in the area which is perfect for fishing. Lots of trees in the surrounding. We were able to see the horses in the ranch. Another great adventure. Another great memories from Red Deer.

We did the Carriage Date night for two through heritage ranch and Westlake Grill. The experience is amazing and the found was incredible. I will say that it is so expensive but definitely worth it to celebrate big moments. It is fine dining and it definitely take a while for the whole experience so make sure you slot yourself plenty of time. There also seemed to be a bit of confusion and there was some double booking for the carriage ride, but the staff took it in stride and made sure everyone was taken care of. Still highly recommend even with the oopsies.

My girlfriend booked the Fathers Day Brunch it was very good ..Steaks cooked perfectly. My only complaint was a bit hot in the restaurant Also not very appetizing eating and watching crackheads hanging around
Moving Forward to New Beginnings
This place is beautiful on a sunny day or even on a cold winter day. The owner /operator (Joel ) is an amazing man who has done so much to keep this place looking and operating fantastic. West Lake Grill is their restaurant and not many restaurants match the level of excellence that I experience when I come to eat here. And if he has the time, ask him to sit down and have a coffee with you. And you'll be glad you did. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Very kind and knowledgeable and super friendly. He and his wife and their 2 boys have done a fantastic job since they took over in 2010, making this one of Red Deer's best places to visit. !! Highly recommended!!

The waitress who served us was fantastic. The people who greeted us were great when we ordered our food. Four out of eight of our orders were steaks and everything was cold on the plate. So we sent it back and they brought it back but everything was over cooked. We had all ordered medium well steaks so they were now cooked too much. Nobody offered us any discounts or anything. We went there for a family memorable time for our birthdays. So as a result, we were not impressed with the food.

Heritage Ranch is a beautiful spot to spend a nice family day! Good fishing, stocked pond, picnic tables, restaurant and horse and carriage rides! Mitchell pond is right down at the bottom of the path & offers great fishing! Check out my youtube channel for a full review of the fun family day we had at Heritage Ranch!

We went on friday evening and ordered the land and sea dinner for two... the presentation was amazing but the steak chicken and lobster were ice cold... i couldnt eat my steak (medium rare) and had one bite of my chicken... they never offered to heat it up or a new dish (i ate the lobster) instead I got a seniors discount. Im very disappointment and the hype was overrated.

Stopped by tonight for drinks and a snack, the weather was great and a fire was going at the patio fire pit. We got to sit next to the fire all evening and enjoy ourselves (outdoors, but the roofed-in patio area). Joel & his staff took great care of us (Joel was even our "waiter", not often you get the owner looking after you personally at most restaurants). Food was top notch and I can't think of anywhere else in town you can enjoy an outdoor fire. I enjoyed some local Troubled Monk beer and my girlfriend tried both the red & white sangria. Definitely one of Red Deer's hidden jems!

Very nicely set up. Had a reservation so no wait time. (Not sure if there would be one without it) easy to set up a reservation via text. Unique menu. Fast service but not like they were trying to rush you to get out. Our table had mussels, mushroom soup, lobster potato skins, ravioli with chicken and one with shrimp, and wild boar chop. All delicious. Will definitely be going to this hidden gem again!
