Review Les Freres De La Cote - Quebec City

Great food and drinks at a place with lively atmosphere. The mussels, french onion soup, tuna tataki with spicy mayonnaise and caviar were top notch. The Old Fashions were a generous pour of Maker's Mark and our server, Sabrina, deserves special mention. She was fabulous and as busy as she was, she took the picture of us at our table.

The restaurant was very beautiful and the waitress was very nice. However, I ordered the ribs and fries but was given what tasted like ribs that had been pre-packaged and reheated. I was also shocked that I was told I must tip minimum $30. Unfortunately, I don’t think I will be coming back here.

Duck poutine is delicious and the waiter was friendly. However, it took 30 min to serve the food.

Service was amazing; the host, waitress and kitchen staff were amazing. Service was impeccable and extremely friendly. The food is delicious and very tasty. Their mussles are out of this world and so is their Steak.

Reasonable value for the food, ambience, availability, and service. The menu set they offer was convenient. Service was pleasant: somewhere between European-laid-back and American-quick-turnover. Husband got the set and I got a French onion soup with a main course, and that was just about the perfect portion between the two of us. Really recommend the French onion soup, but I also just happen to really like this dish.

In general food is just OK nothing to write home about. Don't expect food to come quickly at night kitchen is understaffed when I was there. Service was decent but again understaffed. Don't order French Onion Soup, mine was not hot, bland, and only had around 3-tablespoon-worth of soup in it... It was that bad.

Friendly people. Active place. Excellent fish and chips.

The food was so delicious and worth coming back for. The service was excellent. The portions are smaller relative to Ontario restaurants but that's why French and Quebecoise are slimmer than their Anglophone counterparts.
