We had the ceviche and the duck confit poutine. Don't be put off by the price, it was excellent food, very tasty and you are in Old Quebec. C'est la vie!

We searched for three days for the best crepes in Quebec, and finally found them at the Bistro 1640!

Mon Mari et moi y mangeons à chacune de nos visites à Québec. J'adore ce restaurant et son emplacement. La salade au canard confit est absolument exquise!!!!

The staff were very friendly, the food was good though a bit pricey, but the best part of the experience was sitting on the terrace and watching all the people go by and play the ring game on the nearby sidewalk. I loved the historic vibe in the heart of Old Quebec City. It was a great way to top off a morning spent exploring the galleries in the lower part of the city. We took the funicular up the steep hillside and ended up just steps from the restaurant where we easily got a seat facing the side walk. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience.

Nicole our waitress provided friendly efficient service. The Chef created a tasty luncheon salad to accommodate my allergies. The ambiance was fun, our table was outdoors... the whole experience was great. We highly recommend.

If you're in the old part of Quebec City, try this place - you won't be disappointed. This is the 2nd time I've eaten at 1640 Bistro. Both times I went with a group of 6 or 7 and we were seated quickly. Service was very friendly and quick. Food was amazing each time. A few of us ordered different types of pizzas and they were incredibly rich with flavour - much much better than pizzerias that consider themselves authentic. The only complaint that we had was that the spaghetti entree in the regular menu and the childrens' menu were the same size...except the one ordered from the regular menu cost $9 dollars more. They need to fix that.

The food was relatively good but quite expensive and the service was not great. The pizza was pretty good but the pasta was kind of dry. The onion soup was quite good and the ribs were also tender but slightly dry. Overall, I don’t think the food was worth the price but yummy nonetheless

Being based in Toronto, Ontario at the height of the pandemic I hadn't been to any eating establishments for indoor dining, so when I say I was extremely comfortable here, I mean it. The environment is so nice/fancy being seated right beside a bunch of wine bottles, ha. The service was amazing and the food was amazingly taste/filling I didn't need anything else afterwards.

Great food! The service was great and the meals came out at a reasonable time despite its popularity as a restaurant!

French onion soup was good. The tuna tartare was a little small. The chocolate cake was rich but the portion of ice was small. Overall the place was good.
