Review Montana's - Prince George

Come here every date night. Great atmosphere, the staff are always super awesome, and the food is amazing. Love a classic BBQ place. The two times out of probably 20-30 we've ever had an overdone steal they've been amazing about fixing it. Their new manager is also super sweet. The scene points paying part of my dinner is an added bonus.

While the food is good at Montanas the one thing that is consistent is the service is poorly lacking. Recently I went there with my brother and his daughter and we got there at 7pm and we did not get our first plate of food until 8:30 and the last plate showed up just after 8:45pm. Diners who came in after us got served well before we did and our server was not very forth coming when asked about where our food was. When it did finally show up it was hot and we knew that our order either had not been placed or had been lost if she had been forth coming we would of been more understanding and the restaurant was around 50% capacity so it wasn’t that busy either. I like the food there but every time we go we know the service will be slow but this last visit took the cake.

I went here paying 30 dollars for a steak, expecting something edible. In return I was served a thin, gray and flavorless steak. While at first glance it looked seasoned while in reality is tasted like nothing of the sort. Other restaurants in town offer cheaper steaks with twice as much flavor. If you want an enjoyable dining experience go to the nearby Mr. Mike's steakhouse. Avoid this restaurant.

Went with my family Friday night. Ordered fish and chips, med steak and kids meal. Fish and chips and kids meal came and were good. Steak came and it was closer to raw then med, sent it back. 2nd time it came back it was still under done and we sent it back again. 3rd time it came out it was cooked right, however since we waited my wife couldn't eat with us and had to eat alone. Also replaced the fries on the kids meal, got only 4 little cucumber slices. Asked for manager, and they gave us 50% off the steak only. Also the wooden chairs on concrete all night was not pleasant sound.Wouldn't recommend again. However our server was great and pleasant. Good job to her.

But within 18 hours of me posting this review I received a call from Kayla of Montana's to discuss my experience. And because of this effort made by the restaurant I have decided to go back and see if the experience is different. Then I will post again.) When we arrived we were told that there was a 35 minute wait. We said no problem and asked to be seated at the bar (where there was plenty of room) until our table was ready. Was told that we could sit at the bar but then would not be moved to a table. I replied that it would make sense to sit us at the bar and make money off of us buying drinks instead of just standing around waiting. The hostess said that was not allowed. I asked to speak to the manager and he said that would cause too many problems with their system. They had whole empty patio that they could have sat us instead of us standing blocking the doors or standing outside. That certainly didn't seem like good business sense or good customer service. If we had not already made arrangements to meet people there, we would have left. But I will not be going back. (Montana's Prince George, BC)

Went there tonight for dinner after one year because food and service was not good, but decided to give it another try. What a mistake. Two orders of the shrimp appies were cold, the Mac and cheese was barely warm. The three orders of baked potatoes was so hard you could barely cut into it what he a steak knife. We had the potatoes replaced with fries and garlic mashed. Our table was never cleared of one dirty dish. Will never return. I posted this on restaurant reviews and many people have same complaints of cold food and terrible service. It appears management does not care. You guys better maybe start reading the public restaurant reviews page. 🤢

So my husband and I like montanas, tonight though was a different story. Thank goodness our server was so fantastic otherwise we would’ve left before food ever came to the table; one hour after we ordered. Mason is an excellent server who is so cool, laid-back and polite that we did not want to leave. The food is pretty good even tho it was late. Mason deserves a raise.

My wife, her sister and myself ordered ribs and burgers for takeout and all three of us got food poisoning and the ribs were so dry and burnt none of us finished them. After opening the bag and looking at the ribs I was tempted to call and complain before even tasting them they were so dry and blackened, but the restaurant had already closed for the night by the time we got home and we were all pretty hungry... Pretty sure it was from the ribs as I got sick the least and I had the burger and only tasted the ribs to see how bad they were. Both the girls who actually ate the ribs are super sick. I've had plenty of good experiences at other Montana's locations but not this one. Beyond disappointed as Montana's has always been a reliable place to get good food
