Review Pastry Chef Bakery - Prince George

From bread, cakes, cookie to doughnuts, made with love, care & pride in their work, it’s an art work. I had their lunch menu - soup & sandwiches, I don’t have a favorite choice, there all tasty. I stop by yesterday to get an assortment of doughnuts, such a divine choice. Taste so good & additive to eat not just 1 whole one but 2. The glaze has a unique flavor that only a master chef know how to make from a small batch. I’ve eaten doughnuts from many places, no comparison. Keep up with the good work, will keep supporting local businesses.

The best baked goods I've ever had in my life at incredibly reasonable prices. The apple donut is the size of your face and costs like$2.50. Will visit again and again

Pastry shop has been downtown for so many years! I bought their crusty buns for my wedding reception, I bought cakes for occasions from there, and always go in for a nice treat and we're going downtown for coffee! The ladies are always super friendly and everything is absolutely traditional delicious cakes and cookies and bread! So good! You have to go down early or the good stuff is sold out!

The selection of baked goods was outstanding and the size of the individual items would definitely require additional help when time came to consume anything. The store itself is small but has that old school feel to it and reminded me of corner shops I used frequent as a child. The one staff member we interacted with... didn't seem to be having a good day. Curt, abrupt answers and not a smile in sight. Aside from that an experience I'd recommend for anyone passing through town or otherwise.

As a German born Canadian this is the best place in Prince George on a Saturday morning to buy breakfast ingredients and cake for the Sunday Kaffeeklatsch. They offer not only great bread, special buns, Bretzel Buns, sweets and cake you can also sit down for breakfast or lunch or buy some German sausage. If you are on a budget there is a rack beside the door with bread and baked goods from the day before.

Great friendly service but a warning - the large pastries are so delicious that they will be extremely hard to portion-reduce and not consume in one sitting. We each had a massive "copehagener" pastry and the soft amandine filling (with spices?) and delicate almond slivers on top was pure heaven. It doesn't get any better than this in Prince George.

The best Sourdough light rye bread I have ever had. I would go there every day for fresh loaves when I lived there. When I moved to the lower mainland, I tried everywhere. The closest was in North Vancouver, but it closed when the parent company moved to Langley. Still wasn't as good. I now have to pay my daughter to bring some with her when she visits. Then cakes? Did I say cakes? Try the cinnamon pull-apart. wooo.

Best bakery in Prince, they have all the traditional donuts (highly recommend custard filled long johns) as well as some European (ie less sweet) pastry. The orange Napoleon was very good.
