Review Oakroom Grill - Prince George

We had a fantastic experience at the Oakroom Grill. The atmosphere was pleasant, they had live music, and the food was spot on. Everything was prepared exceptionally well. I will be going back and highly recommend. Also, just my opinion, but best burger I've maybe ever had.

This place appears to be a restaurant that is aiming for a first class experience (with the associated pricing) but actually providing one that barely approaches a third rate standard. The first impression was a disorganized entry. They did not have their vaccine passport app working properly and this caused a great deal of confusion. When seated, things improved with a charming waiter named Dan. He was generally polite and engaging. However after ordering our meals the experience fell off. We waiting over an hour for our food which wasn't at all good. My friend ordered the steak and lobster ($50+!!!) - the steak was poorly prepared and lobster rubbery. I ordered the fish and chips which was okay, but asked for some mayonnaise and was charged $1.49 for the standard condiment. After Dan's profuse apologies for the long wait, there was no effort to make things right. Instead we observed Dan run around aimlessly while not bringing us the credit card machine so we could finally leave over two hours after being seated. Overall a poor experience and that's not even considering the overpriced nature of the meal. Would not recommend.

The service was amazing and the food was delicious 😋 My steak was made perfectly, and the lobster was broiled for just the right amount of time! We will definitely be returning.

I've eaten here with friends twice in the last month. Comfortable atmosphere. People of all ages and families as well. I enjoyed the lettuce wraps as my main course. Others raved about the ravioli and fish & chips. Good serving sizes. Attentive service both times.

Visited oakroom grill for the first time and got myself some of their calimari. It tasted good and had some peppers and I think pickled ginger mixed in. That gave it a very small amount of kick (nothing significant though). The calimari tasted good and did not have any fishy taste. As a personal fan of "spicy" calimari I would have loved a spicy option as I feel they could really bring it to the next level that way.

This is one of those places that you go to for the experience, each visit is unique, the staff here are excellent, I had a very memorable experience here when we had a chance to chat with one of the gentleman working that day with that being said, the food is held to a high bar in my eyes and all of the dishes look great on paper but I haven't been able to try them all yet. The only bad thing Is the price, but that depends how much you value the experience because in my eyes the price was perfectly fine but in others you may see the price differently. Cheers.

Wow, food awesome.. had their eggs Benny homemade Hollandaise sauce. And the service was great. Our waiter was very attentive, and also suggested substitutes four things that we were interested in. April 2. 2022 my husband and I did take out tonight from Oak Room. Just wanted to add thank you staff and Chef everything was great tonight. Plus the way you packaged our food was awesome. Even little containers one with ice cream and the other with whipped cream.🥰

While the service we received was beyond extraordinary, unfortunately the food did not match up. My order was made incorrectly, and my partner’s did not taste good. The fries were bland, as were the chicken fingers that replaced my partner’s original meal. The only thing that tasted really good was the chocolate lava cake. All of that being said, however, the customer service was beyond compare. Braxtyn, our server, was kind and attentive, and mentioned our dissatisfaction to Eseme, the manager, without any attempt at escalation from us. Eseme came to talk to us about the issues, apologized, and generously compensated for the problems we’d experienced. I may go back again, if only for dessert and a fantastic customer service experience.

Deryn, our waitress, was SO friendly and sweet. She was very attentive, but not annoying (like she was the perfect amount of attentive) ... the food she recommended was awesome (the caesar salad, fish tacos and fettucini alfredo with shrimp). Great experience, great food, great people! Highly recommend!!

First time ever going to the Oakroom Grill! Will definitely be going back. The portion size was huge and the price was right. Service was amazing thank you to our server Kristen. And our food was absolutely amazing thank you to the great cooks!

Definately a superb restaurant to check out! We entered with 4 children under the age of 10 and were immediately impressed with how our server Dan tended to all of us. He was fantastic!!...thanks Dan! Excellent food all around including the beetroot rocket salad, a perfectly cooked steak, a curry bowl, a great kids menu with lots to choose from. Oh and let's not forget Happy Hour!! We will be back!

Went for our anniversary. The interior is lovely but I found it loud. Couldn't hear our server. Took a while for our food to get to our table but all in all, it was delicious. However, don't go there hungry. Portions are very small. Left still hungry.

The reviews on the food from our group of ten were mixed. Some good some not so. The reviews on the service was unanimous. Our server was poor, not properly trained and not able to serve or bus tables. You should be able to carry more than three drinks on a tray and take more than one order at a time before running off to the kitchen. Then when you come back and someone orders who you missed on the last trip you certainly shouldn't roll your eyes. Probably won't go back.

Second time and absolutely loved it ! Both time had lunch and the service was impeccable! Deryn was our server and she was the best, quick attentive and very friendly! I had the steak and fries and hubby had the cod ( which for sure was battered in house) excellent !

I thought the portion on my shepards pie was a little small. But Our server Deryn i think thats how you spell it. Was terrific. I also loved the house greens, I'm not normally a salad guy. But it was good

My husband and I had dinner tonight at the Oakroom Grill - our first visit, and it was fantastic! Our waitress was exceptional, making the evening even more fun. The food was not only delicious, but the presentation was outstanding. We had a cozy table, lots of space, and really enjoyed the atmosphere of the surroundings. Completely impressed and looking forward to our next visit.

We had our wedding dinner here and I was extremely impressed!! They opened the restaurant on a day they were supossed to be closed for us. They had a wonderful set up for us and even accomodated by moving tables around and made sure everything was exactly how we wanted. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. All the staff were absolutely amazing and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy and comfortable. I can't say enough good things! Thank you, Oakroom for being a part of our special day and making everything perfect for us!! We will be back!
