You won't leave hungry!
Great fish & chips! Light and airy batter not too greasy. FRESH Fish... halibut was excellent, firm and flakey, not mushy like some other places.
Fries are delicious as well, done the right way. Fresh cut.
Had a burger on my last trip and was pleasantly surprise. Charbroiled type, loaded with fresh topping, reminded me of the old late night burger joints that used to popular in Toronto... like Sonny's, Apache, Tasty Freeze. Good solid burgers fresh bun.
Owner seemed nice, came out ask how everything was, which was a surprise. Place filled up quickly at lunch... lots of regulars in for their fix! And I can see why... highly recommend!
We drive to Port Perry quite a few times a year (takes about an hour). So far, it has been the best fish and chips spot. The halibut is always soft and juicy and the shrimps taste amazing. Definiately worth the drive! Everyone we bring to Captain George loves the food. Never been disappointed yet.
There were four of us for lunch, so of course we ordered the Halibut Family Meal for three. :) The portions at Captain George's are fairly large, so the 6 pieces of fish and 2 chips was just right for the four of us. The fish has a relatively light batter, and is cooked to a perfect golden brown.
This location is almost always busy when we do one of our summer excursions to Port Perry. This trip was no exception.
