The first word out of my mouth after my first bite was "Wow", and on the second bite and every bite thereafter. The quality and flavour of everything I tried was absolutely amazing. My friend and I shared plates of the meatloaf sandwich with mac and cheese as the side and the fried chicken with corn fritters. Highly recommend them all! Also seriously in love the restaurant design and vibe!

Awesome breakfast in the heart of historic Port Hope. Friendly, fast, delightful service. Serves, without a doubt, the best sausages and biscuits I've ever had. A nice chat with the friendly locals rounded out a perfect Friday morning. Can't wait to try dinner - pulled bbq jackfruit?!?! Yes, please!!!!
I don't usually do this and no one has asked... in this instance I can't resist but publicize a bright new spot in our lovely town: GANARASCALS a family diner! The ambiance is relaxed and welcoming. Easy. Like coming home. The chef (one of the owners) a master magician: the food was exceptionally fresh and tasty. Affordable. The hostess (the other owner) welcomes you with a tonic presence, a personable manner. The music discrete, grass roots warmth. The best of both worlds: high dining and low stress!!!
I walked in with little expectation for Vegan Options in a restaurant located in such a Small Town. I was shocked when I saw “BBQ Jackfruit” on their Menu - Yes Please, I’m in!
Then you notice the adorable decor, their chill music choices and get your socks knocked off with the stellar service. �
I ordered the Bbq Jackfruit on Sour Dough Bread with Dairy free Coleslaw and Julienne style Fries.
Caitlin offered several drink choices, they all sounded great, but there was something special about her Arnold Palmer with crushed peaches � - we had to order more rounds�
You gotta eat & drink here ganarascals (They’ve got all your food allergies covered�) Escape the city and visit the cutest small town in Ontario, Port Hope �.
Went for dinner on opening night and was blown away with the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The food was perfect and simple. Ganarascals feels like you are eating at home but magically an insanely talented chef replaced whoever was in the kitchen!
Today a friend and I wanted to go for a cuppa coffee somewhere. We decided to go to Ganarascals.
We just wanted coffee and toast and asked if it was OK. They were delightful.,and even came and refilled our cup of coffee at no extra charge.
In this day of fast food and no service at all we were delighted.
My friend will be bringing her grandkids back(they have an awesome children’s menu), and I know when my friends visit from out of town and we go for lunch where I’ll be going.

Lovvvvvve it! Couldn't make it for Opening Day yesterday so first thing this morning it was. Can't say enough good things....the food is amazing, just like home but waaaaay better (lol!!), atmosphere is cozy and inviting, service excellent! Great family restaurant. All day breakfast and so many comfort food options! Not only kid friendly but they welcome kids - the decor (and board games and comic books available) make that clear. Super cute! The food and staff are fantastic!
Excellent veggie chilli. Good option for for people with allergies. No nuts in the menu!
