Review Baton Rouge - Pointe Claire

First time experience at this well known steakhouse. Despite our last minute reduction in party size for our reservation, we were promptly seated at a lovely table. Absolutely great ambiance and decor. I can see why this is a favorite of many. Dining room was packed. Staff are very polite, excellent menu knowledge and table side etiquette around Dining customers involved in conversation or savoring their meals. Must come again.

I love baton rouge, always good food and amazing service. We wanted to order surf'n turf but they don't have it as a dish on the menu, but they were kind enough to get it for us. Their steaks are phenomenal👏🏻. Highly recommend!!

Terrible place. you spend an arm and a leg for some real nasty food. Got chicken tenders, which a 5 year old could make, the batter was not on the chicken. A nice ratio of 1/4 chicken compared to batter. Chicken is very mediocre and Mcdonald's could whip up something better.

Delicious food and consistent excellent service! The presentation is nice and the servings are huge as well. The prime rib was so good. I dug in before I could take a picture of it. 😋

Excellent food! Excellent and friendly service. I had the rib steak and my boys had the lobster ravioli. The food was delicious. Thanks for making my day on Father's day.

Generally, when I go to Bâton Rouge the service is excellent. The waiters and hostesses are respectful and helpful. Today the experience was awful. The waiter that served us was not respectful at all. While we were eating, he came to our table every 5 minutes to ask if we were done, he was rushing us from the beginning. When we were done, I was paying with my phone and he rudely took my phone from my hand to pay on the machine. Over all, it was not nice at all today. Also, there is this dish called Louisiana Chicken, that sounded good at first and when I read the description and then when I see the waiter coming to our table with a mountain of salad I was confused and disappointed. The description of the dish was not accurate at all. I expected some vegetables as mentioned, but not a whole salad. The worst part is that it was 20$ for a salad I could literally make at home. Anyways, I’ll keep going to Bâton Rouge because the steak and the ribs are amazing. Hopefully the service will be better next time.

We were severed by Matthew and he was on point with recommendations of wine, spirits, specials. We selected the beer French onion soup and potato soup which were both very tasty. The potato soup could have been hotter to melt the cheese. We order from the fall special Nagano pork, I had the Tomahawk Pork chop with mashed potatoes and apple butter sauce with veggies. The veggies: 1 whole Brussels sprout and 2 stalks of broccoli, 1 small piece of cauliflower and a slice of red pepper. The veggies could have been sauté with some garlic and butter, they were unappealing just steamed. The pork chop and potatoes however made up the dish very very much. The pork was flavorful and tender and that apple butter sauce was just a great combination with the meat and potatoes. My s/o order the pork burger with brie and apple butter with fries was very moist, tender and flavorful with the brie and apple butter. The fries were plentiful and went well with mayo and chipotle mayo but there could have been more like a side salad and reduce the fries, for some additional freshness. We enjoy glasses of Jacob’s Creek Shiraz along with refills of ginger ale. Giving it was a Saturday night we didn’t feel like we were rushed to leave and had a very good evening and a great dining experience. They should consider to bring the Nagano special back for the spring.

The background music was a little too "aggressive". Should have been more jazzy and mellow, as well, it was too loud and we could barely hear our waiter unless he almost yelled. Otherwise, the food and service was very good. I had the Santa Fe chicken and it was very good. Besides the music, and loudness, I would go back again.

Bâton Rouge was the perfect dining experience for my girlfriend and I, in order to celebrate her dirty 30!! Max was an absolutely amazing waiter!!! So kind and courteous...!!! He made it a point to make my girlfriend feel special on her special day... Amazing waiter... By far the best I've had the pleasure of meeting...!!

Best place for ribs in the West Island. Was taken here by the family for Father's day. Service was friendly and prompt. Good selection on the menu, guaranteed to have something for everyone. We tried a few of the 28 and 40 days aged steaks as well as the pork ribs. All were done to perfection. Was 90 degrees outside so we opted to sit inside but they do have a small terrace. Great place for a slightly upscale family dinner.

As a customer, you expect what you pay for in a restaurant, especially a restaurant like baton rouge. Our waiter was the most friendly, impeccable and nice, and i made sure he knew he wasn't the problem by telling him. The problem was the meal. Asking for a medium steak is what is most common in a steak house When i got my order at first, had to send it back because the steak was well done. The second plate was even more deceiving. Rare. Even after sending the plate back because it wasn't cooked properly at first, it came back worse, the steak was rare and i have pictures for proof. Disappointed by what happened the kitchen, service was impeccable, food though, very disapointed, not going back any time soon

My first experience in any Canadian establishment. Amazing food and service. The ambience is even better! What a comfortable, well decorated, and clean place. Local beer was excellent!

We went to Baton Rouge yesterday for lunch to celebrate my mother's 89th birthday. She loves the ribs and the warm brownie dessert. Yesterday we were a little pressed for time, and I let my waiter know. He was fabulous. Took care of us with the utmost efficiency. The meal was hot and the ribs were succulent. "Finger-licking good". We'll be back again soon.

I was visiting my daughter who lives in Mtl and I wanted to go to Baton Rouge since we don't have it in Kingston. Our waitress was very nice and so was the service. I was very disappointed in my meal. I originally was going to have steak but was told they had sea bass as a special that night. Loving fish so much I went with the sea bass. I have had sea bass before in restaurants and was always satisfied. This one was just plain tasting, like was very thin, hardly had any flavor to it. Really, I could not tell it was sea bass, could of been cod, haddock, etc..So my meal was just ok, nothing to rave about and won't be going back.

My husband and I went to celebrate our 36 th wedding anniversary on Jan.10th. It was our first time in BR in DDO. It's great location, very nice atmosphere and our waiter was very gentil. We command different kind of rib. The food was delicious. We had a surprise from our waiter who brought a desert for our wedding anniversary. Thank you very much to your team. We are living only one block from your location. We will come there very often.

We have been going to Ddo Baton Rouge for at least 15 years. Always FABULOUS. Last night was horrible. We were 6 and 3 of us ordered the ribs. They came a good 5 minutes later than steaks. Then they asked us if our ribs were good because they could bring us new ones ?? Why would you serve us them if you know they might be off? They sucked! And they forget to bring us new ones. Free desert ??? That was bad too. Disappointed did they change owners??

Way over priced and you don't get any veggies on your plate you have to pay extra for veggies, that's insane!!!

Excellent service. Les mets étaient à notre goût. Avons passé un très agréable moment. Merci.

Went there for my nieces bday and Max our waiter was great! Took good care of us and did it all with a smile and some good jokes. Made the experience quite pleasant. Great with kids too.

I had the filet mignon last night at Baton Rouge. Was disappointed as it was quite chewy. Since Baton Rouge has been bragging about their meat, I thought it would something special but I will never it again! My husband had the prime rib and enjoyed it - I should have had the same!

Daniel made our night! Best server I've ever had!!

An American diner, with tasty dishes, consistent ingredients, fresh and unique Items. From starters to salads and main dish, all were out of the ordinary, though not a big variety, but worth the try. Will definitely come back again!

Stellar!! No need to shop around and ask friends "so what do you feel like eating tonight?" guaranteed there is something for every discerning pallet

Not only is the food top notch so is the service, from the kitchen to the front of the house including the wait staff

I was there recently with my parents for my moms birthday, we all ordered the lobster tail with the angus filet, our waiter gave us succulent choices of fresh veggies steamed, loaded baked potato, fries ,
Mash, house coleslaw, all served with Hollandaise, peppercorn, and classic garlic butter. Our waiter gratefully suggested we have put sauces on the side, great tip, I love dipping ❤️. The house bottle of white is crisp smooth slightly sweet fantastic pairing for the lobster, I totally recommend it Reserve 51 Chardonnay

Now our wonderful plates arrived to perfection except one tiny detail
My steak was overcooked. I like my meat medium to
Rare. However that being said it was absolutely delicious! Yes I could have sent it back, but it was good everything else was stupendous, ambiance, experience top notch

When the manager T.H. Found out that my steak was not to par he was mortified and wanted to compensate me (not necessary) he would have gladly cooked another for me, I know that. Everything was so delicious, even though I was stuffed and enjoyed every bite if you put a plate of the same thing in front of me I would eat it just because it was sooooo good

The graciousness of the staff and manager was stellar. T.H. Gave mom and I a double espresso with a 2oz shot each of frangellico on the house. Class act

You will definitely see us again
Service was professional - quick. Like the other Baton Rouge restaurants. I only order ribs here - so I can''t speak for anything else. If you want decent ribs. You know where to go.
My2cents On Food
Everything was perfectly time from the moment we arrived, the waiter was courteous and attentive and offer suggestions, but we knew what we ordering, The rack of ribs!
The Ribs were perfect as were the all dressed baked potatoes. We didn't have any appetizers as we knew the plates are well garnished and quite filling ....

One of the best go to places for ribs, because it's consistently good and you always get what you expect..

Although I suggest you reserve on a Friday or Saturday night as it gets very busy.

My2cents

We have finally found a place that has awesome bar-b-cue ribs and chicken!! The ribs were cooked to where the meat fell off the bones!! The service we had was outstanding.
Laura Bargielski
The food and service were both outstanding. We now have a place to eat bar-b-cue ribs and chicken. The meat on the ribs was so tender, it just fell off the bones.
Carfoodz
Their ribs, fries and creamy potato soup is amazing! This is my favourite place to go for ribs, it falls right off the bone and that sauce is just addicting. The potato soup is thick (almost like mashed potatoes) with cheese, bacon bits and shallots on top and it's so amazing (but very filling). The fries are yummy, seasoned nicely. The environment is also very nice, and reasonable prices!
The Hungry Ones
Best chipotle chicken sandwich ever. The service is very fast and the decor is just amazing. Our server took the time to explain the menu and even recommended a dish according to our taste. The decor is rustic and very warm. Not a great place for kids as the prices are a bit high and the portions are not for children. Would definitely recommend that place.

Worst experience ever!. I ordered a filet mignon. Got the worst piece ever (the end of it) that should of never been given to a client. It was full off chewy pieces. I sent back the order and didn't want another piece as I got a major turn off. I was never asked if I wanted to order something else. At least, I didn't get charged for it but that was after I asked the manager. Than had a coffee but really wNted a refill but never got offer. After all this the waiter never even looked at me. Wow.....how professional!!!!!!!! Never again and I do not recommended.

Great food. Has to be one of the best steaks in the West Island. Pricey but you get what you pay for. Better dal then 40 West.
Biggest drawback is the restriction on time to eat. I have eaten in a lot of fine restaurants in New York,Chicago,Europe etc and can't remember eve being told that our group after spending upwards of 700$ that we had to give up our table in the allotted time. You would think that expansion may be a better solution than pushing clients out the door.

My favorite Place in MTL to eat. I have never loved a restaurant this much. Moving to MTL from FL ( yeah, weird, I know!! lol!!) I was anxious not to find an affordable place thatwould get my 5 Stars... A friend of mine too me there and I did not want to leave. I celebrated my birthday there the last two years and even took my twin sister there when she visited. She also loves it. I haven`t tried other location yet for the one on St Jean in the West Islands is my fave.
West Island Guy
West Island Baton Rouge AWESOME! , Downtown Baton Rouge CRAP. First off let me say that Baton Rouge is my favorite restaurant of all time! :-)
I have never ever left (the West Island location) of this restaurant felling unsatisfied, 10/10........ perfect score.

However, the downtown location near Complexe Desjardin/Place des Arts has lots of problems (we'll get to that later). I do hope the owner adresses this, because they are hurting the hard earned reputation of the restaurant.

Whenever I go , the creme of potato soup with cheese and challots (minus bacon) is always warm and tasty.

The Amarillo chicken or Santa Fe chicken with goat chesse is always good.

The chicken fingers are also fresh and good.

However at teh Place des ARts location the food is stale cold and bad. The management shodl take care of this.

Ribs YUM!!!. This place is sooooooooooo good...single handedly the resto that i spent the most money at in my entire life...many dinks and entrees on top of a great Rib n chicken meal...going back is always a MUST!!!
Andrew
Meeh. The ribs dont live up to thier name , but thier baked potatoes are amazing
Baxter
What the F*** !!!. Never thought I would pay over $35. for a plate of fries. The rib rack was small. Had to scrape off all the sugary sauce...probably just added in excess to distract from the lack of taste of the bonny & meatless ribs. The only saving grace about this terrible experience was the cute waitress....
Cbean
Terrible!. Even Scores is better than this place. The service was never good when I went here and there was something gross and bad about the beer they had on tap
Christopher
Excellent ribs and fries! One of my favorites!
Paulie

Kurt Normandin
