The best sushi in pitt meadows!!
The food here was soo good. My absolute favourite. We love everyone here and all the staff. One of waitresses is especially my favourite. They taught us Korean and were very kind the entire experience. I was so happy that she was so helpful and caring. Had another amazing meal at Akasaka, made and served by staff at this restaurant
This is the best sushi restaurant that I've ever been to, and it so happens to be in my town. I've been going here my whole life and the only thing better than the food is the employees, particularly the servers. Friendliest staff I've ever met, it feels like the tv show cheers when I go In there. Everybody knows your name!
My kids ask to go here all the time. I have been going for 7 years and feel like I am family when I get there. I love the food. They are kid friendly. And the servers are friendly and kind. I trust them with my kids and my personal things when I go to the washroom.
We just got back from a delicious dinner at Akasaka celebrating a birthday! Wonderful service as always and delicious food. A big thank you to our waitress for going above and beyond for us. Highly recommend supporting this great local family owned restaurant! Attached is a picture of the Beef udon soup! Delicious. Regular customer and will be back :).
The food is always fresh and delicious and the staff are friendly and attentive, I take my kids almost every week and they love it! Food always come quickly as well.
This place strives for excellence. Gave Akasaka sushi restaurant a try when I first moved to Pitt Meadows, a year and a half ago. favourites are: Tempura Udon, Mango Roll (with cream cheese sweet & savoury) and ebi sunomono. YUM I've been here about 50 times in the last year and a half... and its been good.
My absolute favourite sushi bar. I go way out of my way to eat here.

A nice place to eat sushi. When to Akasaka with my family to eat dinner few weeks ago. I noticed that the owner has changed - there were new roll menus and the servers were very friendly. All of the foods were fresh and tastey. Would recommend this sushi place!
Regular customer and cannot see that Changing. Fantastic quality for a fair price. Definitely not the cheapest sushi i've ever had however its worth every penny. This is the best sushi I have found east of Vancouver. I feel fortunate that it is so close to my home.
The Chefs seem to have a very good understanding of flavours and have incredible palettes. All the specialty rolls have fantastics ratios of ingredients that play off of one another and really do leave you with a wonderful experience.
The service is always friendly and attentive. sometimes there is a bit of a language barrier but that is easy to over come with some patients and a positive attitude.

My Favourite Local Sushi spot!. My boyfriend and I have been regular customers for a good couple of years now. Despite a cheaper sushi place which opened up (Meadow Sushi) we prefer Akasaka! Until you have tried sushi at Meadow Sushi and then eat theirs...you will definitely see a difference in freshness and quality of sushi. Trust me, I have an acquired palette and Akasaka is worth it! If you think the prices are steep then go during lunch, because their lunch menu is fantastic and well priced!
My husband and I come here about once a week. The food is always fresh, tasty, and the service is good. Our fave sushi place in the area.
A gem in the NE burbs. Let's face it: good eats in Greater Vancouver are, well, in Vancouver. So when you find a restaurant near where we sleep that prepares food with meticulous attention to detail and obvious pride, you treasure it.
Akasaka is such a place.
This is a Japanese family owned sit-down sushi restaurant in a converted heritage home in the heart of Pitt Meadows (for those of you who seldom leave the city and consider Maple Ridge a camping destination, Pitt Meadows is the small community nestled between Port Coquitlam and Maple Ridge. And Port Coquitlam...oh never mind, just Google it.)
The food is the usual fare of Sushi, Sashimi, Tempura, Soups, Teryaki, etc. you find in the larger Sushi restaurants. The chefs here delight in crreating special rolls so you will find many new variations all very well described in their menu. And all of the food, from the lowly Miso soup and Sunomono to the most elaborate dish is just superb. By the way, do try the Tempura: they have the lightest, least oily version I have ever found.
If you're lucky to live within 5 Km of them (as I am) they will deliver larger orders ($40+) free of charge and their take-out menu is extensive. For example, my favorite take-out is the Dinner Box B. For $14.95 you get Miso soup, shrimp Sunomono, rice, cooked prawn and scallop skewers with a spicy mayonaise, mixed tempura, 6 pieces of sashimi (salmon and tuna) and a "special of the Day" which lately has been a delicious piece of spicy cooked salmon...definitely a full meal in this box.
The service and ambiance are also excellent and they do take reservations (a good idea on weekends and/or if you have a long drive to get there.)
5/5 stars and definitely worth the drive.
