Review The Bean Counter Cafe - Picton

We came here on Saturday night for a birthday dinner and honestly it was an amazing experience. The restaurant is super cute, unfortunately the weather wasn’t so great so we couldn’t eat in their beautiful garden area but their indoor dinning room is very cozy and intimate. The service is a fantastic, timely and friendly. The food is expensive but the quality and portions are perfect, so it is 100% worth it. We had the chickpea fries, the duck meatballs, the artic char, the pulled rabbit and the pork tenderloin along with the panacotta, chocolate mouse and lemon sorbet desserts. Ive included a couple of photos. We will definitely eat here again, some of the best food we’ve ever had. If you’re debating on having dinner here, reserve your table and you won’t regret it. A perfect evening.

A great option for fine dining in the country. We were there wore thanksgiving as a three generation family. Our table loved the rabbit gnocchi. The grouper was also a hit. Would definitely be back.

As always Bluemen provides a wonderful experience start to finish. With a small but tasty and well executed menu, the food is superb. Beautiful outdoor garden seating areas are just another perk. Very lucky to have such a great place in Picton. Ordered the lamb, ribeye, mains and duck meatball and chickpea fries for appetizers. All were great!

Had dinner there last night as a group of 4. What a great place to eat. First, their service was excellent our server friendly, attentive, and very lovely. Cocktails fantastic. The wine selection was small but very lovely local and other wines. We had of course the Chickpea fries, what am I telling you, amazing. They are that good that we ordered two orders. We also had the pork belly -Tuna, and Crab cakes. All excellent. As a main, we had the steak, the lamb, and the vegetarian dish and I would rank it as excellent and very enjoyable. Desert creme brûlée and Strawberry Rhubarb cake. Again, excellent and tasty. So overall, a wonderful dining experience, very friendly staff, lovely environment and all of that for a reasonable price. We all highly recommend Blumen.

We’ve been coming for years, and were able to get a table the final week of the year. Amazing food, service and ambiance. Thank you for taking great care of our family celebrations. Still dreaming about the gnocchi!

From making the reservations to the meal itself the experience at Blumen's was fantastic. Our first anniversary was made perfect by the fantastic meal at Blumen's. All items on the menu made our mouth water and sounded delicious, it made for a very difficult choice on selecting what to have. Staff were extremely helpful in selecting beverages, and giving insight to meal selections. The venue itself was intimate and cozy, we were seated on the back deck which was a very cozy spot to enjoy the meal. Starters for the evening included tartare and stuffed squid. After hemming about the mains we settled on the lamb and duck, and we were not disappointed at all. Each bite was full of rich flavours that we attempted to savour for as long as we could. Finishing the meal was the creme brule which was the perfect end to the evening. Reasonably priced for an excellent meal, it made perfect sense as well to get a round for the kitchen, (great option on the menu!). Overall a restaurant we will be returning to again.

I was impressed with the service. I had a smoked turkey in gluten free bread that was delicious. The server told me the bread is made at a certified GF facility in town. Great place to get a freshly brewed crafted coffee. Will come back!

Great little place within a great little town. Coffee was good and plenty of quick meal selections. They even have gluten-free options! They can get quite busy during rush hours (lunch in particular), so I would try and make a stop during the morning or afternoon.

Every time I visit Picton I go there for my morning coffee - it's a great place to start the day!! Food and pastries selection is fantastic! I love their coffee..

Always great service and the coffee is amazing. Locally roasted. My favorite are the scones but we have tried so many other treats, and all are fabulous. Homemade gelato inthe summer is such a treat. Make sure you visit when you are in Picton.

Our favourite coffee house in the world. Love the owners, the staff and the ambiance. Can sit here all day and get work done at the same time. Once the weather gets warmer the patio is an awesome spot to enjoy a coffee or tea.

Best cafe in Picton. Food is so good. A wide variety of coffees and teas. Lots of baked goods. Service staff are awesome.
