Review Affys Premium Grill - Pickering

We were driving from Toronto to Ottawa and and e a detour in Pickering to have some Halal steaks. The restaurant itself definitely needs a facelift.. dim and dark and hasn’t been taken care of.. the server was nice but bored maybe! Tables and chairs not nicely ordered .. really need to be taken care of the place. Food came looking not so good, plating could definitely improve! But when we tasted it everything was fantastic! Steaks tender, nicely seasoned.. wish they can work on the rest so it becomes a pleasant experience stopping here next time!

We went to Aaffys along with Aidan my grandson, he likes the place and food, so do we . Most of the time I order fish fillet with shrimp on it, the ribs are also good for the meat lover but steak is a question mark, those in my family who order steak has concerns !! Any ways the service is slow but the food is worth waiting and the bill is also reasonable for the ambiance and food !!

Food was delicious. Service was good and fast. I wish it was cleaner though. Washroom was clogged, had to take my daughter to the men's washroom. I wish they could focus on hygiene as well. Place is usually full on Saturday, I would recommend calling ahead or book a reservation. Thanks

We are regular visitors of this location. The service is hit and miss, sometimes we get the food quickly but other times it can take a very long time. The food is good, we got the Chicken Parmesan primavera, the herb penne, the kids cheesy pasta and for appetizers we got the jalapeño poppers and the lemon fish and chips. The food was hot and the service was good. The waiter regularly checked to see if we needed anything. This time we went at lunchtime when it wasn’t so busy.

I had the 1/2 lbs beef burger, and it was well worth it! Affys is a affordable, high quality restaurant I would recommend to take out friends, coworkers and family. It's a nice sit down vibe with incredible food options. Love the halal steak options and authentically western cuisine. One improvement can be made to the service time, however It let's me know that my food is being prepared fresh. Keep up the great work and customer service !

Overall an excellent experience in terms of the food and service. Ordered chicken Fajita and Lemon 🐟 🐠 both were delicious in taste. Will definitely come again to try other stuff.

Made reservationsfor 6pm, ordered 620pm, food came at 7pm. Perfect timing. I don't think waiting 45mins is unreasonable at all when you are out to enjoy a good night with good company. Had good conversations, food was delicious, cooked perfect, what else can be said. First time visiting in covid and the experience was just as great as precovid. Feels like the good old times precovid. Meal Ordered: 12oz Rib Eye Steak with mash and veggies Actually on a positive note, their space is even more niqabi friendly at the booths alhamdulillah! P.S. They downsized the space so for this reason the ability to pray salah at this location is no longer viable. Consider praying at Pickering Islamic centre 2min drive away.

I ordered the top sirloin that come with shrimps and 2 sides. i lovee it!! i tried the new york steak too, but top sirloin is always my fav! 😇 honestly, i never finished steak if i ordered any steak, my husband always finished it. But Affys and only this location has the best steak and i always finish their steak!

Just had dinner at Affy's. Food was good, portions generous and our server, Sassi (i appologize if i spelt it wrong) was very attentive and friendly. Definitly recommend going here for a nice dinner!

Absolutely delicious steaks. But the ambience needs to be improved before I can start recommending it to others.

I ordered full rack of beef back ribs, chicken permasan pasta and Texas chicken fried sandwich with poutine fried as side... Although service was good but ribs were totally dried up and had zero juice left!!! Tried to eat them with extra BBQ sauce but that didn't make any difference! Chicken burgur was also very dry on a HUGE bun and chciken inside which was not juicy either! PASTA WAS GOOD! THANK GOD! I spoke to the manager there to give my feed back about the food but in return he thought I was asking for a refund or something with so much cockyness in his tone. I didn't feel like talking to him paid the bill tipped my server and left! NOT GOING BACK THERE AGAIN!

It is the worst. The service is really really slow, it took literally an hour for my burger to get it done, and it's not even test that good!. However the steaks are good and I recommended for ordering it. Over all they need to improve their customer service and be faster.

Best ribs in town for real. The customer service was awesome. Food was super awesome. Came all the way from Chicago to eat their food and did not regret it one bit.

I've been to Affy's quite a few times. Every time, it's the same story - slow, almost rude customer service, drafty seating (it's freezing in the winter), outdated decor (which I'm indifferent about), but it used to be somewhat redeemed by their food. Not anymore. I used to like their ribs, but soon it was all bone, very little sauce and no meat. That was the last time I went. Although, my family did like the stuffed chicken and calamari. Clearly, this is the case of not caring about the customer's experience. At all.

I tagged along with a friend of mine who wanted to eat Halal steak. The decor of this place is okay. What this place lacks is functionality. Where we were sitting, it was extremely COLD. My feet were struggling to keep warm which obviously ruins the dine in experience. The wait time here is about average . The food here is not great. The steak wasn't on par with other places i have tried. Customer service is lousy. The price to value is below average . I would never come back to this place again.

A lot of options for a halal steak place. The food is pretty decent but the service is always extremely slow. Like I've been here countless amount of times with different groups of people and the service is always brutally slow. They only have specials on weekends and if you're ever in on a weekend get the short ribs and wings special, super yummy. And they give a free starter of house made sales and nachos. You must also try the mash potatoes!

Affys Grill has always been one of my top choices when eating out. Their flavours are consistent and they have never left me disappointed. On specific days during the week, you can have the four course meal for two for only $30. This is a place you have to try. Although the dining area is not as classy and service is just okay, their food will leave you wanting to return. My favourite dish here is he stuffed chicken in a buttery sauce with a side of steamed vegetables. They've got a huge chuck rib meal which was too much for me to finish on my own but quite delicious. I also love their Tiramisu dessert.

Bad Customer Service and extremely noisy. Really bad dinning experience. They crammed most customers into a small area while keeping a large hall empty. If you don't have a large group they will cram you in like cattle. While keeping another area vacant. Very bad customer service even upon request they won't accomodate you. <br/><br/>It's extremely noisy so it felt like a busy street corner with noise and people A juicer extractor was running right next to our table. <br/><br/>Can't tell you about the food as I couldn't taste it above all the other sensory overload.

Lives up to its name. Tried Affy's for the first time last week. We were a bit on the cautious side because of the Urbanspoon reviews of the Pickering location, but thankfully our fears were unfounded. The food was great and the service was great as well. I ordered a burger which had just the right amount of consistency and flavour, and my family ordered everything ranging from chicken to steak. We were all pleased with the food and service. Only negative was that the booth was too small for our reservation, so we had to sit on two separate tables with a gap between them, and there were some extremely loud families with screaming kids, but that was out of the restaurant's control(short of them kicking those families out). All in all, we left happy, will definitely visit again.

KILL IT WITH FIREEE!!! ...thats what they do to UR FOOD. They are done...its all downhill for them now. I guess its all downhill for them now. It was a night of errors and disappointments. Also note I have been there many times before and I eat everywhere so I know what I am talking about.<br/><br/>Their mess-ups listed:<br/>1- We had made reservations;and we arrive 5min before time and yet find out place not available/given out earlier by them. We had to hang around and look at people leaving to scout for table.<br/>2- Now that we were seated no menu arrived until we asked for it.<br/>3- We waited and weren't served the complementary tortilla chips...and when they came they were of very poor quality. Guess austerity measures have be implemented at Affys.<br/>4- Food arrived on time (even though the restaurant was packed); this surprised us...until we discovered it had been cooked fast and burnt. The ribs were dried out from top and very burnt. Tasted burnt too. Now when we told them of this...instead of owning their shortcoming and offering to remake it - all we got were excuses. That the meat vendor is new one etc. It has dried from outside not burnt. All from the owners mouth.<br/><br/>I think they have earned so much that they are too proud and not bothered to own up screwups and provide decent customer service. Well pride before fall. I am sure it will be all downhill for them.<br/><br/>Go there if you want to pay overpriced meal in an average ambiance, with poor customer service and unreliable food (its your luck if it turns out well).

Affy's is My Fav. First off, I see a lot of mixed reviews of Affy's. I have been going here for years and it is one of my favorite resturants. Apart from it being my favorite it’s the busiest. First off, going on Fri-Sun for dinner? Forget about it... Affy’s cannot handle the crowd, wait time is long and customer service starts slipping (most of the time). When they are busy they forget to put my sauce on the side, forget the drinks or just take long to come around. The Pickering location is the best, biggest and original. The Mississauga location is new, nicer, super small, they won’t even take reservations and the wait is pretty long. With regards to food the BEST thing at Affy’s is Cajun Stuffed chicken breast w/ fries ($15) and the rack of ribs ($30). The steak is just standard steak with some sauce (still a good choice for being halal), Kara Mia’s steak is better. The best day to go to Affy’s is the 2 can dine for $30 (Tues.-Thurs). It comes with soup (amazing) or salad, entrée and dessert+coffee/tea. During the week is usually pretty empty and customer service is okay. If you go there on a busy night expect a long wait, bad customer service but good food if you know what to order

Not worth it. I reviewed this place before taking my family from out of town. I was so disappointed. The Steak was tough, service was very bad and place was very noisy (from crushing the ice). For the price of the food I will say it was not worth it at all.<br/><br/>I will never go back.

Very dissapointed.. I created this account just to write this review. we went to Affys on a tuesday at 9:15 and stayed there till 11:30 with 11 people booking. food came out over an hour late. we ordered 2 20 oz "well done"one for dine in the other was takeout. 45minutes into the order we asked for our food the owner told us "we can give you complementry dessert".we refused because we hadnt eaten the whole day and dessert would be useless to eat first. after waiting for over an hour for my food i told them just pack it for takeout. we told them not to cut the steak, they gave us two raw 8oz steakes instead and said "we dont have the 20 oz". the other take out 20 ozthat we ordered at 9:30 was cooked rare contrary to what we ordered and we got it at 11:30. we paid the full price and service charge included.

I went to the Mississauga location and was extremely disappointed. The food seemed like frozen food made warm and the service was horrible as well. There was so much hype about this place and now I have no idea why. I will not recommend it to anyone

The food is good, I love the nachos. I usually get a burger or the stuffed chicken which comes with 2 sides. I've been there a lot so I've basically tried most their items. The services a alright, I was a bit confused, didn't know where to sit an the hostess area didn't seem like a hostess place, if you know what I mean. The workers were nice, I liked the energy. The desserts were very nice. I've tried them all and the chocolate brownie is my favorite. The prices are nice, affordable. Need to change the decor, to dark an the seating arrangements were w/e. But it was nice and I still do go and get good service an well tasting food.

I thought it was an okay Steakhouse. But for Muslims who can only eat halal, it is the Steakhouse to go to (maybe the only one?)! The ribs are really good, but ask them to put less sauce. The decor is bleh.

Unpredictable. I've been to Affy's many times since 2009 and I've had various results. There were times when I really enjoyed the food, but for the last while, I've been very disappointed. The food tastes pre-packaged. When you eat at a restaurant, you should be able to get authentic food prepared fresh. The beef is dry, the chicken is bland, and the fish tastes undercooked. This restaurant needs to shape up or close down.

This used to be a good place for a steak. Now they've branched out to dishes they don't do well at all. Service is terrible here. Wait times are absolutely unacceptable. Food has come out cold.

A disaster!!!. Never going back to this place... it is comparable to a TGI's/Chilli's/Applebees. I dont know why people publicize it as a 'high-end' place. at the end of the day it is a decent place to watch a game.. they have TV's all over the place... The food tasted processed and lacked flavor. I could make the same dishes better at home. Service was okay.. They need to work on being more original (for example not using canned mango puree in mango chicken, making their own bbq sauces etc...)

I had an absolute horrible experience ordering take out from them. I called around 10:30p to place my order, I wad told 20 minutes and that they close at 11. I went with my friend to pick up rhe food with a friend at 11 and had to wait 15minutes before I had to approach a personworking there about our order. I was told that it should be done momentarily. After waiting another 30 min before I had to approach someone else about our order. Turns out the order never went to the kitchen, now the owner came out and said the ordet will only take 5-6 min, but that the kitchen already has it. I asked if it only takes 5 minutes and the kitchen has had the order for an hour why am I waiting? His reply was for me to go pay for the meal. As we were paying my friend asked if we could get a discount for waiting for soo long. The owner replied that they dont give discounts. Now I would have been fine if the owner admitted fault and offered compensation for the mistake, instead of his course of actions. So out of principle we went to wendy's for food. Some customer service eh?
