Review Roland's East - Pickering

A blast from the past but the two elder protrietors never fail to deluvwr excellent food that is not just delicious but of high quality. Ordered chicken wonton (crispy if not a bit on the bland side) but the bbq chicken on fried rice and the fried chicken on chowmein were both amazing.

Family owned and run business which has been around for years, Unique menu of Caribbean and Chinese foods, Food is tasty , service is great, Chicken , wings, shrimp, roti, just to mention a few. All of our local restaurants have been hit hard during Co-Vid 19, Please support our local restaurants.

I've been wanting to go to Roland's East for quite some time after frequently going to their Eglinton location in Scarborough that closed a few years back... Just like I remember... the goat roti was delicious. A few tables were available so I didn't need long to curb my hunger. Generous portion and the family run business had the same friendly faces that I remembered. Definitely will try to get back again to satisfy my love for delicious west indian, caribbean food.

Absolutely disgusting food here - nothing like the Eglinton location - ALL STALE, dry and tasteless dishes. Don't be fooled by the 1976 sign - Roland's you should be ashamed to provide customers with such horrible quality food - try tasting it yourself before serving - do you not realize it is bad. Seems like everything was made many hours or days before. Ordered the special fried rice, chowmein w BBQ chicken, beef roti, fried chicken wonton - only the chicken was okay - everything else was hard and obviously reheated. Don't waste your money here!! The reviews on this site has to be false or paid for - bc don't understand how 4 things I ordered were all bad. The food is nothing like the pictures they show in their website.

Always been the BEST of the best from the original days back when it was a sit down restaurant on Eglinton Ave. in Scarborough. Now a take out restaurant in Pickering, the food is still amazing and family/employees are all great. We have friends that visit from outside of the area and they always want us to get Rolands. We love this place and it will continue to be a “go to” for our family!

I have mixed reviews for this restaurant. It’s hit and miss depending on who is working. When Roland makes the roti, perfection! It’s fresh and tasty. I’ve had the older lady make my roti several times. The roti has been dry/stale or extremely salty. I had one a few nights ago and it was so drenched in sauce, the roti shell disintegrated. Hot mess! If Roland made all the Roti’s, I would have given a 5 star.

Love the food. I've been eating there since I was a kid when they were at their old location in Scarborough. Now I drive from newmarket to brock for their "Roland's mix fried rice" and bbq chicken. Super friendly as always, and very accommodating. I will continue to go, and I highly recommend this place to literally everyone I know. Keep up the great work Roland's.

I bought the Chow Mein noodles with chicken on top and was not impressed; this dish lacked flavour. However, there special Fried Rice with chicken on top was delicious. Both dishes were more than sufficient to feed 2 people.

THE place to go for roti in a friendly family run restaurant. They have been doing this for over 40 years - you better believe they are the best at it!! <br/>

Great Food. I have eaten at Rolands since it opened in I think 1974.The food is always fresh and made to order.I've tried Roti's in alot of places but none match to Rolands!

The best West Indian food in this part of town. I eat there weekly and have been for 10 years. Roland's Special Fried Rice and Roti is the best!!

Quality of food is awful. The roti was hard(stale) and the curry.. tasteless! I have tasted delicious and fresh food from other west Indian Roti stores in Ajax/Pickering It's not about the amount of years in business but the quality of food you serve and the pride u take to serve great dishes. T&T and Drupaties are the Best in Ajax/Pickering:-) I would never eat from Roland's again!!!

Absolutely fantastic! First-rate, fresh individually made dishes served with a smile. The channa roti, jerk chicken, and Roland's mix fried rice were excellent. We'll be back

My all time favorite West Indian restaurant. They have some great dishes and for the price you can't go wrong. My weekly treat is the beef paratha.

Great Roti!!. Been a longtime follower of Roland's, from their 1st store at McCowan and Eglington. Was sad to see that the original location was closed down but soooo HAPPY to see this location near my new home. <br/><br/>Roland's has the BEST Paratha Roti's around. I've had other Roti's from the area and none of them matchup with Roland's. <br/><br/>I always get the Curry Chicken Roti in a Paratha wrap and it's to die for. The GIANT Roti is wrapped with a Paratha wrap that is always moist and chewy and compliments the Curry so wonderfully. I sometimes get the Jerk Chicken which is very spicy and seasoned well.<br/><br/>Definately the place to go if you love Paratha Rotis!!

Yummmyyy roti! Jerk chicken was really spicy, I really couldn't eat it, but it was still good. Loved it
