Honestly is a hidden gem located in pickering! The pad see ew is delicious and everything always consistently tastes divine. I’d also recommend the Tom yum soup and spring rolls!
Not since I've returned from the tasty streets of Bangkok have I found a Thai dish in the Greater Toronto Area that fully replicated my Thai food experience. Well - that time has come to an end thanks to Hot Mama Noi's in Pickering. I ordered the Chicken Spicy Basil ($10) which was described as chicken with basil, bell peppers, onions, and a pinch of Thai chili served with steamed Thai rice. The appearance of the dish brought me back to the Chatuchak Weekend Market I visited during my travels. The unreal balance of flavour and heat is exactly what I have been looking for. The combination of ingredients was perfect. As I had greeted the staff in Thai, the chef came to speak with me and we both shared some stories about our love for Thai street food. I can't wait to go back! I will probably go back tomorrow. Go to Mama Noi's on Bayly :P
This place is fantastic. The food is exactly what they say it is - authentic Thai food made with fresh ingredients and served with a smile. My only complaint is that I wish the place was licenced so that I could wash down the pad thai with a beer. Other than that, this is an excellent place for Thai food.
Best Thai in the GTA. I love Thai food, I mean LOVE IT!!!! I discovered Hot Mama Noi's a few years back and hold all other thai food up to Mama Noi's standard. So far nothing I have had, has come close to comparable. She cooks everything from scratch using real ingredients and traditional recipes and cooking methods from Thailand. The Red Curry is the best I've had and at absolutely amazing prices. In addition to great food, you can expect great atmosphere from a very kind and friendly staff, and if you are lucky you will even get to chat with Hot Mama Noi herself. It is a deceiving restaurant from the outside, the decor inside is slowly improving over the years, but you don't go to Mama's for the ambiance, you go for the most flavourful and balanced Thai food around. If you live in Toronto it is worth the drive (or Go train ride as it is right next to the station) to Pickering for a great Thai meal.

Our #1 fav weekly lunchtime destination. If you work in the area and don't regularly eat at HMNTOTF, get out of my face.
Satisfied customer. I ordered basil beef. It really was hotter than could eat. I called, asking if they could do anything for me, and they whipped up another right away. Sounds maybe "corney" but I was hungry and they came through for me.
Thankyou!
Great Take Out!. I go to this place a few times a month for take out, and it's always delicious. Lots of flavour and fresh ingredients make it a must try. Other reviews say it takes a long time to get served, but I have never eaten in the restaurant so I can't comment on that. Definitely try this out if you're a thai lover!
Found my new place for Thai food
Really good food! Got to try the hot sauce - stellar!
The place is small, but clean.
BEST THAI. I've been to many Thai food restaurants, this was the far the best tasting Thai food. Reasonable price too and very friendly. :)
Great thai food. I love thai food and in my opinion this is one of the best thai places in the GTA
The decor is a little lacking (reminds me of being in grade school with the mismatched school chairs), but for quality of food Hot Mama's is great. Pad thai, spring rolls and the noodles were fantastic, and clearly fresh ingredients.
Never would have found it if not taken by a local as its kind of hidden i a strip plaza near the Pickering Go station, but well worth seeking out.
I also find it funny that so any of the negative reviews for this place are from people who have only written 2 reviews - great ones for the Red House and a bad one for Hot Mama's.. how odd
Best thai food I've ever had! Try the, cashew chicken, you won't be disappointed! Everthing else is very food as well. You can't go wrong picking anything from the menu
Authentic and delicious. I love the spring rolls! And the red curry chicken. One of my fav Thai spots! Mama Noi, herself is very friendly and welcoming. Feels like home cooked Thai comfort food. :)
People are so funny. One thing I have noticed on all the negative reviews for Hot Mamas, they all say try the red door. There was one review that said Hot Mamas had a fire and was closed down by the health department. None of this is true. As a matter of fact the health department stated they have never seem a restaurant so well maintained Very funny at the end of the blog in small letters try the red door. These people continue to write bad reviews. lol if that's the only way they can get business so be it. But it is very narrow minded in my opinion
Service may be slow at times but there is only one cook. If you want real Thai food Hot Mamas is the place to eat hands down.
So I asy to the red door keep it up and soon you will be out of business.
Hot Mama Noi's Thai on the fly is the best Thai food around.
Real Thai Food, Simply Amazing!. This place is awesome! I use to really love thai food but got so turned off of it by poor americanized thai food, but this place has made me fall in love again. Everything is so fresh, the flavours are perfectly balanced, really great, traditional thai food.
Yummy. Had the Pad Thai and absolutely loved it!! Will definitely be returning and looking forward to trying all the dishes on the menu.
Great meal. I eat here three times a week. The food is always fresh here. I don't mind the wait because I know I'll be eating real Thai food.
Authentic Tasting Thai. My husband and I recently returned from our honeymoon in Thailand - since then we have been searching for an authentic tasting thai restuarant - to no avail - every place we went to lacked in flavour and seasoning UNTIL Hot mama noi. AMAZING thai food! as authentic as you can get
I reccomend this to anyone that wants the REAL stuff
Excellent Food and Service. Love the hospitality of this lovely restaurant, the chef Noi and Nan.
The food is simply delicious.
Love it! Would recommend to everyone!
My friends and I make HMNs our regular treat. Never before have I tasted food so good. Stop searching elsewhere for Thai. You'll never find better than here. Awesome in every aspect.
Great food. I eat here at least once a week and I can't even stomach the other Pickering thai restaurants anymore. Mama noi is not known for anything other than the best thai food around. I highly recommend this place
Last night at Mama Noi's... I was interested in getting something different for a change and I stopped in at Hot Mama Noi's Thai on the Fly. I was impressed with the service as I felt it was personal and complete. I ordered the mussaman curry with chicken as the waitress recommended to me. It was fantastic right to the last drop and then I followed it with a delicious and fresh mango salad. I have tried many Thai restaurants in Toronto and the GTA and this one is by far the best. My hat goes off to Mama Noi and her great food
Simply incredible. I was blown away by the caliber of food served to me here. The tastes are vibrant and the freshness is clearly evident. After having travelled Thailand for over a year, I consider myself quite a connoisseur of Thai cuisine. But, this food went above my expectations.
Friendly and fresh. We normally do takeout - nice and fresh basil chicken, just enough for both of us. Very friendly staff, too!
.....my fellow workout friends were hungry and insisted we go to Mama Noi's . They are from the Pickering area and said it's one of their favourites . I can't say no to Thai food, so I tagged along. Located close to the Pickering GO Station, we entered a small restaurant with glass tables. My first thought was that they would all see how messy I am when I'm eating. Damn. They offered Ginger Tea, Green Tea and the usual assortment of pop and water. Some loved the ginger tea, others not so much. I love that they give you a full size pot instead of those leaky, single serving tea pots. The menu is 1 page, double sided and full of irresisti ble choices. Almost everyone ordered something different, so I really got to see a variety of dishes they offer. My friends were disappointed that Mama Noi herself was not there. They said that she will greet her guests to make sure everything taste s to their liking. They said she is very friendly and pleasant; I was sad I didn't get to meet her! My friends ordered the Sweet & Sour Chicken, Pineapple Fried Rice, Pad Thai & Pad See Eew . I had the Masaman Chicken. The couple that frequent this place had the Pad Thai and Pad See Eew . The Tom Yum Soup is highly recommended by them. They've tried many things on the menu and had no complaints about any of them . The couple that shared the Sweet & S our Chicken and Pineapple Fried Rice enjoyed it. They expected the Sweet & Sour to be more like the Chinese style, but still liked it. My Masaman Chicken(I say it wrong every time) was fantastic. Lots of sauce to eat with the rice and the smell was divine; it was making everyone else hungrier ! The veggies were tender and cooked in the sauce with a good amount of chicken. The prices are very reasonable and the service was great. I can't wait to go back. I want to try something else and meet Mama! Lisa
Eating at Hot Mama Noi's Thai on the Fly does reminds me of my experience of eating Street food in Thailand.
Fresh simple ingredients made with attention and care just like how home cooking suppose to be.
My Pad See Ew requested extra spicy was A-OK. Portion definitely on a smaller size but does have the great complexity of taste of fish sauce, soy sauce and of course chili!
Deco is really simple, just like those restaurants in Thailand that local people visit.
I disappointed Mama a little when I told her version is close but not as good as what I had in Thailand... but definitely more than good enough for a Toronto Thai restaurant in Pickering!
After a killer exercise class, my fellow workout friends were hungry and insisted we go to Mama Noi's. They are from the Pickering area and said it's one of their favourites. I can't say no to Thai food, so I tagged along.
