Review Sakura Sushi Japanese Restaurant - Pickering

Fresh & flavourful large rolls. Friendly, patient & professional staff. They took the time to answer all of our questions over the phone. They were accommodating and able to modify part of our order to make it GF (gluten free) for my wife. It will now be our go to sushi place in Pickering. All around a great experience!

Best spot for sushi in Pickering no doubt. Large, fresh and flavourful, will definitely be coming back.

Wanted good sushi so I was willing to pay the high price. The rolls are massive. I'm not a small guy and they are way too big for 1 bite. And the same with the sashimi. Large fish logs. Ordered it take-out. And everything was squished under the lid. Probably a good indicator that your making your rolls too big. The tempura shrimp had a heavy oil taste.

We just moved to Pickering and was looking for our to-go sushi spot, and I think we found it! We ordered the tuna poke bowl and the 40 piece sushi, maki, sashimi tray. The Tuna poke bowl, had so many things in it edamame, crabmeat, avocado, seaweed, cucumber and so many other things, it was a texture explosion in my mouth, yummm!! Check out how much tuna you actually get lol The most I’ve ever gotten in any poke bowl (make sure you ask for the spicy mayo!) 😍 The tray also didn’t disappoint, the maki rolls were filled and not too much rice, the sashimi was thick and large pieces and the fish is very fresh. We will definitely be coming back!! Keep it up Sakura.

Really great sushi, sashimi, and maki here! We always order enough to have leftovers for the next day! We’ve ordered from here regularly and here are our top favourites so far - marked with an asterisk in black sharpie.

It was dead/empty when we got here for dinner. I've always wanted to try this place as I keep seeing it whenever i pass by Kingston. The ambiance is great, it's trying to give off that authentic Japanese vibe. This is not a buffet. This is not an all-you-can-eat sushi place. They offer ala-carte instead. But their servings are quite big. I ordered their Japanese Curry. It really liked it, but I couldn't get myself to finish it as it was A LOT. It is, in fact, good to share between 2 persons. The staffs were very attentive and kept checking on us. They have a lady sushi chef and I really thought that was awesome! :) The price is okay considering the amount of food they serve. The rice they use for sushi is of high quality. I highly recommend trying this place. :D

Great service and the quality of sushi is amazing! After trying this place we will never set foot in the local all you can eat sushi places. This place makes each piece with care and the owner and server come check on you. Prices are also very good. We ordered a boat of sushi + sushimi. Highly recommend it if your in Durham area!
