Review P.j.'s Diner - Peterborough

Service is fast. We came in as party of 6 and a family came in at the same time and the chef was quick with our order. The hostess is very nice and sweet. Food is great; I like there breakfast sausage and home fries. The decor is cool with the metal signs and a retro diner look. If I'm back in the area I will definitely stop in again.

We were driving through and needed a quick bite to eat - this little diner was exactly that! Our service was quick and friendly... however, we must have entered closer to closing time because the people coming through the door after us were not receiving quite the same attitude from the cook. My omelette was delicious... my brother enjoyed his burger.. my father loved his turkey and apple sandwich.. and my sisters salad (which we all took a few bites of) was yummy, too! Thank you! A must stop-by location in our books.

A quintessential old-school diner, classy and spotlessly clean. Service was good despite only the cook himself working the entire restaurant. Lunch (roast turkey lunch with fries and veggies, with coffee) was excellent. Prices may be a little higher than some may expect for diner fare, but as mentioned, the food was good. Take note, CASH ONLY - it sounds like their debit terminal is in some sort of limbo at the moment.

Just ate at PJ's and I'm still hungry. Portions are small, quality is poor, and for the price you should either get more food or better quality. For one thing, our server was excellent. She was on top of everything and super friendly. The food, though, was something else. Our ceasar salad was limp, soggy, and the dressing drenching it tasted like No Name salad dressing. They also forgot the bacon. When we asked if it should have bacon on it, the cook said 'yeah but I didn't have any ready'. So we sent it back and waited for him to prep the bacon and top it on. Why send it to the table if it ain't ready?? Also, the burgers aren't even made fresh. They are processed and from frozen. Not what I'd expect from a diner. The poutine was good, but small for what we paid. Overall, a bit disappointing. The decor was kinda neat, had the feeling of a cozy little roadside diner, but the food was a far cry from real diner fare.

It's small, and the portions are ok. Not fancy, but quick, clean and friendly enough. Beats a Denny's or McDonalds handsdown. Give it a try.

I love the new smorgasbord with gluten free choices. I also love ordering their gluten free breads.
