Review East City Coffee Shop - Peterborough

So Good, like Neil Diamond So good So Good! Was in town only for a concert and spend the night. Husband and I are not familiar with eats in the Peterborough downtown area. We like cool atmosphere, fun/interactive customer service and fresh made in house food. After googling and then driving by a few local restaurants, this one seem to look like what we were after. We both had a good hangover from partying the night before. Everything was great. As soon as we sat down we both felt good about what we found. We got Super service from all the girls taking care of us. We both had eggs, ham, potatoes and coffee . Cooked perfectly, and came nice and hot. Definitely have the potatoes. you'll understand why.. Our first experience will definitely send us back the next time we are in town. We both said we wish we had a place just like it in our City.

One of the tastiest classic breakfast places in Peterborough. Service is quick and prices are reasonable. The dining area is a little cramped, but their summer patio has ample room. They accepted debit and credit during the pandemic but unfortunately have returned to CASH ONLY service.

If you are alive go to East City Breakfast. If you haven’t lived it’s because you haven’t been to East City Breakfast. This is the best breakfast I’ve had in my entire existence on this planet. Just ordered the special with peameal bacon and extra crispy potatoes with over easy eggs. It’s so good. I didn’t know breakfast could taste this good.

Excellent service and really delicious breakfast. Just as a warning, this is a cash only establishment. I wasn’t aware of this until after finishing my meal and had to go get cash in order to pay. Would have been helpful to know this before ordering.

Just ate there for the very first time. I wish it was closer to home because it was the best Breakfast I've had in a very long time and the service was excellent!. I'll definitely eat there again.

If you're on a cycling trip in and around Peterborough, this is the place to have a great breakfast, especially if you're staying in East City and/or cycling the Rotary Greenway Trail. A few metres from the trail toward the Hunter Street Bridge on Hunter. Wonderful atmosphere, staff, service, food, price.

Great Coffee shop and breakfast joint, staff are extremely nice and comforting and the whole restaurant has a very old school, inviting vibe to it. Food and coffee were great, most definitely will be coming back.

Home fries are what makes a breakfast. I won't re-visit a place that deep fries potatoes. East City has the perfect home fries. . .and the second generation has carried on the tradition. Perfect attitude for a breakfast joint too.

Watch the ole guy butter you toast on that wooden germ trap that he just had the raw bacon/sausage/back bacon on. Does anyone there ever wash their hands! No wonder I have gut rot all day!!

Best breakfast in Peterborough. When I am in Ontario I make a point to stop in for a great meal.

Best breakfast in town. Period. Once you try the home fries you’re hooked for good.

I started having breakfast here way back in 2007 and it's always fast and tasty food! The staff is always friendly to customers ☺

Brought my gf there for her first time, she loved it. Always go for the food, stay for more coffee and conversation with the owners. Love this place
