Review Black Honey - Peterborough

We ordered their house chocolate oblivion cake with high expectations based on the description, and wow did it ever exceed them! Melt in your mouth ganache, super moist chocolate cake layers, crunchy chocolate wafer layer, and slices beautifully. I've never encountered a dessert too decadent to finish before this - DO NOT cut it into birthday cake size pieces, start with 16ths! I'm already looking forward to the next household birthday 🤤

Black Honey made us a beautiful wedding cake. The staff were very kind and understanding towards making the cake nut free as we do have allergies in the family. And to top it off, the cake was delicious!

A friend and I came for breakfast, by far some of the best service and food. Penny (hoping I got their name right) who served us was one of the sweetest humans I’ve ever met.The gluten-free options are also amazing and some of the best food I’ve ever had. The cafe itself is also cute and super welcoming. Both my friend and I are being our families here when they visit as well!

We had the pleasure of having Black Honey cater our event. They offered amazing service, friendly staff and mouth watering food! Everyone at our event was RAVING about the delicious food. We would use them again in a heartbeat! Thank you!!

the decorations are cute, but not at all cohesive......(Christmas lights, decorative candleholders on the walls without candles, wall sconces....) and for the environment and quality of the coffee and desserts, as well as half the courses having three slices of fruit as a side.... it just seems like a very money hungry thing to do... Every other restaurant in the café district has fair food for fair price...... it's sad that this business is preying on people's pockets....... while not even providing a comfortable environment, don't even get me started on the chairs....

Awesome cake! Service was wonderful. I ordered a custom cake from the bakery section and they did everything so nicely. I requested the words "happy birthday greg" and a drawing of a muskrat if they were able to do it, and they followed it perfectly. And the berries and lemon filling were awesome! Will order from here again!

Great food and coffee just a bit dissapointed it wasnt clear that I was paying 11$ for just the BLT... kinda expecting a side or something. Might need a menu rework to be more clear. Unless your trying to trick people. It's pushes a person's hand to say delicious food but not worth the price. And that can hurt buisness. Just another chefs personal opinion. 11$ can buy the ingredients for 6 bblts. That's almost 100% profit vs product.

The food was presented wonderfully, so I was surprised by my lack of an experience. Overpriced and dusty. The cake we had was stale and didn't have much flavor. The lattes were OK. Very cramped. The staff were not friendly whatsoever. Unwelcoming environment. Disappointing.

Unfortunately I do not have a good review of this cafe because of the terrible service I have received from one particular staff member whenever I go in. I simply want to go into a cafe located close to my work place to grab a quick coffee and leave. I do not want to be patronized ever, let alone prior to my morning caffeine fix. I have given this place chance and chance again to prove to me at maybe that particular barista is just having an off day, so unless my luck is just terrible and she's always in a bad mood when I come in I'd have to say she either has a personal problem or just isn't very good at customer service at all. This afternoon really was unfortunately the last time I will be visiting the cafe, which is a shame because the desserts are lovely but I can't deal with the disrespect I receive when I go in. I am not looking to be lectured or patronized in front of other customers when I ask a simple question about my order, I find it rude and very disrespectful, having been a barista myself for a number of years I know that you are the face of the establishment that people see when they enter. Because of this one staff member, who always seems to be there, I shall not be returning.

Meh.. Cute little place with nice enough staff. Went here once specifically to get nanaimo bars which are my favourite dessert. They had some but they were sub-par.

Cute Place. We went there for brunch. Firstly, I would like to only critique the fact that you have to ask for their lunch menu, but I suppose that's because it's mainly a place for drinks-- and it was quite cramped. Otherwise, everything was quite excellent. We got the Canadiana Lunch which was ... like, really great. It was put together and arranged nicely, and left me wishing I could buy another one. Their drink selection was impressive, and tasted good-- they even had home made ginger juice!
