Review Silver Bean Cafe - Peterborough

One of the very best coffee spots in the city. Coffee is excellent, but their breakfast and lunch menus are exemplary. I had a bagel with cream cheese on my last visit, and I kid you not, the cream cheese was piled half an inch thick in places! Unreal. ^_^ Their salads and sandwiches are also delicious, and they have a wide range of baked goods and Kawartha Dairy ice cream. And nothing beats sitting by the river!

Went for lunch with my wife. The food is filling, tastes delicious and feels healthy! Like a homemade meal on a deck overlooking the water. I could easily recreate that... if I had a deck overlooking the water. It's a great place to eat after a nice walk along the river.

We waited a while for our food, but the cafe made it right without us mentioning the delay. The staff were very friendly. Everything was very fresh with generous portions. Dog friendly patio. Prepare to park slightly off-site (very short walk).

Plan to wait double what they say. I ordered for my 4 and 5 year old kids. Not too busy. They said 25 mins. Ok, fine. It took 50 mins for the food to arrive and that was after complaining.

Great little coffee place with a nice selection of ice cream. The sitting area next to the water is breathtaking. One thing I have to mention is that the area is crowded with homelessness.

Beautiful location, but overpriced for lack luster food and very overpriced for coffee. What i ordered: 2 sweet potato burritos & 2 coffees Price: It came to $45 before tip. Burritos: The "burritos" were severely under-seasoned and were also served cold. They should be classified as a wrap as with it saying burrito would imply it would be warm. I found the item description to be misleading to the final product that was served. Coffee: Was quite good but paying $8 for each was not worth it. They have a ton of seating where they bring your food to you but because no one checks on you after you receive your food there is no opportunity to talk to anyone regarding any mistakes or issues that arise. If there are people in the order line it makes in next to impossible to go inside to chat with anyone about it either. Due to the error in the order of one of the burritos and the complete tastelessness in both, neither were consumed past 1-2 bites. Underwhemled to say the least.

Really good food but the process of lining up to order and then someone bringing out your food and having to line back up if you want another drink is strange. It would be worthwhile for them to just hire proper waitresses.

Could have used the scone for a hammer. Sent it back and all they did was heat one up. Coffee was good and the fruit cup was a good surprise. Staff was great. Coconut ice cream was good also.

Andrea, Michael and staff...thank you for a wonderful opening day experience. From the post run Kawartha Dairy ice cream cone (shouldn’t all runs end with ice cream?) to later with coffee, sandwich and carrot cake, it was truly a memorable day!

Their strawberry lemonade and ice chai lattes are to die for! � The view is awesome and the staff are so lovely. �

Beautiful relaxing patio waterfront your dog welcome A PLUS !!!!! Also the highlight of the place they rent SUP board ����� kayak canoe pedalo! Great way to start the day � Happy Canada day everyone

Personally not a fan. Staff are friendly and polite but don't understand the hype. Ginger cookies were awesome but first time there tried a pumpkin spice latte and it tasted like grass. (When I asked what flavour shots they had they just waved to all the bottles that were far away so had to stand there and try and figure it out. They should really have a clear sign). Today tried again but tried the multi-fruit smoothie and it mostly had seeds in it to the point where I couldn't really enjoy it. I'd go back for the food but wouldn't buy any of their drinks. To each their own.

Amazing venue (e.g., vantage point and location), great food, serving staff who care; if you're looking for a really nice spot by the water to relax with a coffee and enjoy real food, then look no further. Kid friendly too!

Best Patio in town, best staff too! I'm here as much as possible... it's pretty much my 2nd office and the best place to read and drink coffee!

the silver bean is one of my absolute most favourite places to be. i share this place with friends, and my children. i am always gifted with time here with the very best people! the atmosphere is always positive and peaceful. the food and coffee are always amazing! the views from the patio are gorgeous.

Great first visit of the season. Added bonus was my son meeting Mrs. T for story time and songs. Best best best!

It is a wonderful pleasant place to go. Prices are good, staff are always friendly and very very kind. Service is great. The location is perfection. It is a good gem in near heart of downtown. I go there alot with my gf Carolyn and friends!!!

Great staff, epic scones, great view...a true Peterborough experience :)

Was our first visit and it was spectacular. The weather was fantastic and we all loved our food. The beauty of the river and park was almost memorizing. We will be back!

I went there a few days ago for the first time this season. Was super disappointed to see that the inside is no longer comfortable to sit in. They have expanded the ice cream section and it now takes up half of the inside, with a walk bordering it. The comfy seats and lounge/couch chairs have been taken away, to be replaced with three hard wooden chairs and two teeny tiny circle tables. The vibe is now totally not an inside where you wanna hang out for a while and do your school work while drinking and eating. It's not a feeling of wait for your coffee by sitting in the hard chair then leave. Outside is awesome but it is still a bit too chilly to hang out... hopefully they do a bit of reno/bring back comfy seating. It was my #1 fave cafe in Ptbo! I remember sitting with my laptop for hours there last year, drinking matchas and eating treats. :(

We are so blessed to have this place in Peterborough. Location, service, options, everything is fantastic! <3
