Review La Hacienda Mexican Restaurant - Peterborough

My wife found this place trying to find me some authentic Mexican food since I’m from Mexico. This place is the real deal and reminded me of restaurants back home. Service was absolutely amazing and extremely accommodating towards our requests. Clean restaurant. Very nice decor. Prices are reasonable! Only thing I would add is to please get more of a variety of spicy salsas or even a homemade salsa just spicier. Like la costeña taquera sauce which are is an authentic Mexican sauce, and very spicy. Definitely going back soon! It just felt like home. I wish lived closer to this restaurant.

La Hacienda is a wonderful restaurant serving fresh, authentic Mexican food in an intimate and homey environment. We had some margaritas, one of their tacos, a cactus salad, chips and salsa (roja), and the churros. My classic margarita was tasty and simple with a salt rum and the taco was fresh and packed with flavor. The cactus salad was interesting and the chips and salsa were vibrant. The churros themselves were fresh and delicious, but the dip they came with would have been better warm. Overall, a very pleasant experience in this laid back cantina!

Wow!! This was our first time visiting, and it will not be our last. Very nice atmosphere on the patio in this beautiful weather! Everything we ordered tasted fresh and amazing! Service was great! I only have one complaint, and that is that I didn't come here sooner. We have always lived in Ptbo and it's clear that we have been missing out on this awesome restaurant! HIGHLY recommend!! 😊 Can't wait to try the rest of the menu!

Fantastic Mexican restaurant on the popular Hunter St. The margaritas are incredible, and pair well with their famous guacamole and homemade chips. The nachos were a bit underwhelming but the Alambre Al Pastor made up for it. They were unfortunately out of the Grillo - tacos served with locally grown crickets. Would definitely visit again to explore more of the menu. Dog friendly with outdoor seating was plus.

WHERE WAS THE MANAGER?!? I had dinner in the restaurant this past Saturday at 6:00 PM.; pretty much prime dinner time on a weekend. I had read several of the recent 5 star reviews and was looking forward to my meal. My waitress was a new employee, very cheerful, pleasant, young lady. Knowing the restaurant was already busy, and knowing I wanted to try the beef fajitas, I ordered my meal right away. My beer came as did a plate of nachos and salsa, both homemade and delicious. However, 40 minutes later, I looked up from my phone and realized numerous tables, all of whom had arrived after me, getting served their dinners. It was then that my server came by to apologize and inform me she'd forgotten to place my order. My meal eventually arrived with more apologizes from the waitress and an offer to pay for my drink, presumably out of her own pocket! Please understand, this in not about some young girl making a mistake in a new job. We've ALL been there, done that; most of us multiple times. What I don't understand is why no one was helping this young lady What I totally don't understand is where was the manager in all this? Why wasn't she/he the one to come to the table to advise of the delay? Why wasn't she/he the one to offer to pay for my beer? Very disappointing experience.

Excellent, authentic Mexican food with a real emphasis on quality... tried salsa was very flavourful,, and not too hot for my tastebuds! Hot sauce was fairly mild with an amazing smoky flavour. The quacamole, queso fundito and tacos we tried were also really good. Will def be back if we come to Peterborogh again!

It’s all about the food. Tacos al Pastor 5/5, refried beans 5/5, guacamole 5/5, nacho chips and dip 5/5. Lovely fast service. Inexpensive gem.

Food was lovely ,and fresh, generous portions. Service was excellent.And best of all, I got to add crickets to the list of weird food I've eaten.

service was a little slow even though it wasnt busy. Food was good but not heated enough as my rice was cold and encliladas were hardly warm as well.Taste was ok, a little bland for mexican food...just no heat..i love it spicy. Overall though, it is authentic and would go back considering our other full menu mexican restaurant.

La hacienda is an amazing authentic mexican restaurant downtown Peteborough! Fresh, tasty, and one of a kind spot. If you are looking for a new spot to try this is the place! The employees are friendly and very inviting. The food comes out fast and hot. It never dissapoints! I am a frequent diner and I would recommend it to everyone!!
