Review The Favourite Greek - Peterborough

By far, the best Greek food I've had in Ontario! We came for a day trip in Peterborough and looked up "best restaurants in Peterborough". Found The Favourite Greek and were not disappointed. Wonderful and friendly service. The house red wine is amazing. The Greek salad was refreshing and tasty. The chicken souvlaki and lamb chops were seasoned and cooked to perfection. The best Greek rice I've ever had in my life! We will come back to Peterborough just to eat here!

My daughter and I had lunch here yesterday. It was very busy but we were promptly seated and received our order really quickly. The waitress was lovely and attentive. We both ordered off the lunch menu. I ordered the chicken souvlaki plate (3 skewers, potato, Greek salad, tzatziki) and I got a pita on the side and my daughter had a Greek salad. We both LOVED our food. Everything was perfection and it was less than $30 including taxes and tip. Very impressed! Will go back again.

With the majority of restaurants in Peterborough taking up permanent residence in gouge town ($$$), The Favourite Greek’s lunch special is a welcome treat. It’s a generous portion, with fresh ingredients. Oh, and I highly recommend the hot sauce. Do yourself a favour and just pour the whole container on your food, don’t test it first. Then I can take comfort in knowing I haven’t suffered alone. HOLY COW IT’S SPICY!!!

Split a appetizer plate and calamari. Was very good. Will return.

I'm sorry because normally I enjoy the food here and so do my friends but I ordered from doordash and I'm pretty disappointed this time around. The salad was mostly massive chunks of tomato that I had to cut up and was swimming in so much dressing that it was dripping out of the container onto my table, and my chicken gyro wrap had a huge piece of bone in the first bite that I could have choked on had I not noticed it. Kept it at 3 stars because it does taste good but a little more care could be put into prep.

My husband and I have come here a few times only because its basically the only Greek restaurant in Peterborough. Food is pretty authentic and tasty. Staff very friendly and food service. Only downfall is the bathroom door that is always open from the basement and you can smell it from the moment you walk in. I used the bathroom once and had to hold my breath. It was disgusting.
