Review Wee Wok Express - Peterborough

Recently, I don’t know what has been going on with the restaurant but they’ve been messing up my orders. This evening i ordered combo 11 (chicken fried rice, sweet and sour chicken balls and honey garlic spareribs) my order came without the ribs and I can’t even contact the restaurant. Really disappointed

I wish I knew what's happened to this once wonderful take out restaurant. Wee Wok was heads and shoulders above other Chinese restaurants in the Peterborough area but something has gone terribly wrong. I called in my dinner order at just after noon on a Friday only to be told that they had no scallops. One would think they could go out and get some given that I wasn't going to pick up my order for almost six hours. When I finally got home the food was still hot which was lovely but the calamari in black bean garlic sauce was a mess and had leaked all over the bag. The shrimp w/vegetables and almonds was bland as were the vegetable spring rolls. In the end the food just wasn't up to their former glory of "can't beat the taste" cuisine that I'd come to expect. Very disappointing. It's highly unlikely I would go there again.

Chicken balls were great, chicken fried rice was good. Got delievery, it was still super hot when it got to me. Not too mention the great price. Will definetly order again! Thank you for your help and good food!!!!

Very disappointed. This used to me my "go to" location for Chinese food when in Peterborough. They have changed... and not in a good way. On my second to last visit (which I did not review) the egg rolls and spring rolls tasted like they dropped the pepper container in the mix. I'm not exaggerating either. Fortunately I am a fan of pepper but I cannot say the same for the other family members. On my most recent visit... The General Tao was mostly veggies (crisp just how I'd want them) but VERY LITTLE actual chicken. Their General Tao sauce was also like I had never tasted before. The General certainly would not have approved! -5 stars for that dish. The Pepper Steak (unlike the eggrolls on an earlier visit) was completely lacking in pepper. The steak was in chunks (normally in thin strips) and was very tough. Just as with the GT, the veggie to meat ratio was 90/10. Also very disappointing. The chicken balls were excellent as were the eggrolls and spring rolls (clearly they ran out of pepper...lol). It pains me to drop my rating from an earlier 5 star down to a 2 star but they leave me no choice. #bebetter #wontbeback

I love spring rolls with plum sauce but they said the supplier was unable to provide plum sauce recently, only duck sauce. I can understand that many restaurants are experiencing a supply crisis after the outbreak, hope plum sauce will be available soon!

Every time we get Wee Wok it is so delicious! They always ensure the food is fresh and high quality. We are impressed time and time again, thank you Wee Wok!!

Rice is stale and the sauce ain't that tasty. Wee wok fell off for real. They need to make rice fresher and use fresh meat

You haven't had Chinese until you have had wee wok! I don't even know where to begin to write this view :) The food is beyond fresh seems like every order is made fresh to order, I use to hate chicken balls until I tried theres homemade with white chicken breast and NOT frozen and premade! Service is good too no complaints, the only complaint is that they need to expand so the phone isn't always busy! the food is actually that good! when have you ever called a fast food place and its busy for sometimes an hour straight!?!?! Best, freshest Chinese in town!

Yes you have to wait. Yes you have to plan ahead. But seriously, it's so worth it. Every order is made just for you, they don't rush the food, and insist on it always being made right. I've been all over Canada. I've had Chinese food in Toronto, Markham, Montreal, Vancouver, etc. WeeWok is without question the best I've had!

If I could grant 10 out of 5 stars I would! As always I recieved the absolute best customer service to match their irresistible cuisine. Wee Wok never fails to make their customers feel well cared for. I can't imagine ordering take out anywhere else.

Easily a 5 star! The food is so good - best Chinese food in town! And we were super impressed with the customer service. Will definitely be eating here more often.

Rarely have Chinese food since moving to Peterborough but really like the food from Wee Wok. I was able to get a good variety of vegetarian dishes and even ate all of the leftovers the next day which rarely happens with take out food. Fast and very friendly service.

My family and I had Wee Wok Express Chinese food last night for the first time, enjoyed it so much defintely the best in Peterborough!

Sizzling wok has complete combos of main course and appetisers.. price is great and worth it .. perfect Chinese taste .. sesame chicken with a sweetish touch and noodle rice with right spices.. <br/>loved the fried rice and chicken vegetables .. it was mild and delicious.. overall it’s 7.5/10

Our first visit to Wee Wok Express was in December 2014 and was well worth the trip and money spent. Very friendly staff on the phone during placing our order and while picking up our order. We asked for our order to be ready for a certain time and it was ready the second we walked in to pick it up. All the food was fresh and delicious. Each dish had a taste of their own. The menu is available online for easy ordering and viewing with current pricing. Lots to choose from and we look forward to trying more items from the menu in the future. Give them a try and I am sure you won't be disappointed! (UPDATE June 2017) We have NEVER been disappointed with anything from this restaurant ! The best food and OUTSTANDING service EVERY time! The absolute best Chinese take out I have ever had! The food was fresh and so yummy. We ordered the shrimp fried rice, pad Thai, calamari, and beef and bok choi. I would recommend ordering well in advance (before you are hangry) because each time we have ordered there has been a long wait time over an hour for pick u. But don't be discouraged it is definitely worth the wait.

The only Chinese delivery I ever get, these guys blow the competition out of the water. Never had a bad experience with the food or the customer service, and the price is right on par with what you'd pay for much less delicious food anywhere else. Always recommend this to my friends if they're looking for delivery, I have honestly never had better in my life from any delivery place. No idea how the other places stay in business with competition like this!

Great place for nice hot tasty food and friendly service.  We ordered a head of time and said we wouldn't be there  for 40 min.  could they hold off  and  have it ready for when we got there.  The food was quite hot  so it was easy to tell they didn't have it there waiting for us.  It's the only place to go.

You<br/>Can tell the ingredients are fresh and not frozen. Ordered the second two dishes with a spice level of 7 which was perfect. Never ordering from anywhere but here from now on!

Wow this place rocks. First time ordering from Wee Wok and it was DELICIOUS! Best General Tao chicken we've ever had. Super fresh ingredients, all white meat chicken and the shrimp were very nicely cleaned in the Cantonese chow mein. Wee Wok is our new go - to for Chinese takeout.

The Best!. These guys simply are the best, no doubt about it. Though I am typically a chicken balls fan, I have ordered some other items off of the menu for a little variance, and I am never disappointed (especially with the Szechuan or Kung Po chicken, both are exceptional). The rice is phenomenal (with large pieces of white chicken sprinkled throughout) and the staff is kind and accommodating. If you aren't ordering your Chinese from here you are doing yourself a disservice - it's that good! Now I'm getting hungry just thinking about it... mmmm

None better, Wee Wok Rocks. I'm a fan of Chinese food, and food in general, but I have never had better Chinese than Wee Wok! Everything we have tried off of their extensive menu has been absolutely top shelf. Very personable people who make an obvious effort to go the extra mile for their customers! Fast service, delicious food, great people it's Wee Wok. Give them a shout you won't regret it

Hands down the best I've ever had.. Wee wok express is by far the best I've ever had. Great menu, affordable prices, amazing food and the staff are fantastic! Ron and his team do their best to always accommodate our orders! Their incredibly fast delivery service, tasty dishes and friendly customer service are what bring us back every week.<br/>Highly recommend to anyone who has a hard time finding a great place to order Chinese food from!

This place is NOT good!!!!!!!!. Give this restaurant a try after i saw a lot of good reviews. However, i have to say i am too disappointed. Order their shanghai pork. the pork looked similar to barbecued pork. But in fact, it was cooked in boiled water and put a lot red color outside, it looked too red outside but dark inside. the pork did Not have any flavor and taste very Dry!!! Also they put too much MSG!!! Not recommend this place :(

These Guys Stand Alone... Amazing!. First off, wow... you can feel the passion that this establishment has, from the minute you make contact with them. We ordered delivery for 4, and decided to give them a try... some people may be skeptical about the operation, as it is run in a fairly residential location, and I have to admit that this kept me away from them for a while, but trust me... waiting was a HUGE mistake.<br/><br/>We ordered Beef Lo-Mein & Chicken Lo-Mein, Chicken Balls, Lemon Chicken, and Beef & Vegetables.<br/><br/>Whoever was running the kitchen tonight KILLED it, absolutely blew our minds. The flavours were perfectly balanced, with outstanding application of oils and seasoning, and you can TASTE how fresh the product is. I could not detect any previously-frozen food in any of the meal, which is one of my biggest pet-peeves when it comes to Asian food. Broccoli, carrots, onions... all fresh, not frozen garbo. And the chicken was PERFECT! Tender and juicy, finished beautifully, entirely breast meat. They even decoratively floreted the carrots!!! Gorgeous! You can easily tell that they take a lot of pride and joy in what they do, and it makes them stand well-above the rest in the area, in my opinion.<br/><br/>You NEED to make Wee Wok a priority next time you are even thinking about take-out or delivery... they are the real deal, and you can taste how much pride and care they put into their work in every bite. Very impressive!

Best Chinese Take Away in Years. I ordered delivery last night and was very pleasantly surprise. The food was super fresh and seemed to be cooked to order. The Gen. Tao Chicken was crispy, saucy, spicy and delicious and all the food was at the right temp. and consistency. The delivery was very quick as well, under 30 min. on a Saturday evening. All in all, satisfied my craving and I will be a repeat customer.

My boyfriend and I just ordered food. The order was to my door in less than 20 mins! The man I spoke with and who delivered the food, was absolutely amazing so nice. the food was still hot and Sooo delicious! We got the dinner for 3 and substituted 2 of the sides. They got our order completely right and were easy going when it came to changing the dishes in their special. The price was so cheap for what we got. 3 dinners worth of food EACH rather than one dinner together. I will only order Chinese food from here now. Amazjng
