Review The Kitchen By Abul Adame At Da Silva Winery - Penticton

Our one fancy meal was at The Kitchen by Da Silva. The food is Portuguese tapas, all cooked by one chef. The tapas menu is 99% gluten free and we shared 7 dishes (between two). - Boquerones ($7.00) - Roasted Anaheim peppers, sea salt and garlic oil ($9.00) - Veal tongue in tomatillo sauce ($12.00) - tongue was cooked to perfection and the tomatillo sauce accentuated the meat beautifully. Best dish of the night. - Ceviche ($19.00) - Salteados ($9.00) - chicken hearts were excellent but the grilled onions elevated the flavour to the next level. The sweety drop peppers were juicy and bursting with flavour. - Duck leg confit with amarena cherry gastric ($17.00) and marinated organic beets and mint-balsamic vinaigrette ($9.00) Will try to come back with a larger group so that we can try more things! 4.5 stars.

Excellent food, beautiful location and awesome ambience. An amazing experience, please make sure to have a reservation and also it not just a place to have a quick meal it’s a place to have an experience and enjoy the amazing food with the beautiful location. We did the chef’s choice and love the tapas send out to us. Every tapas had love attached to it. Will definitely visit them again to try the other amazing dishes on the menu. The piri piri shrimp is a must have 🙂

Amazing experience here yesterday. The food was fantastic and the wine excellent (get the fume blanc!) Sitting on the deck enjoying tapas and the view. Couldn’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon. Every dish was a high light but shout out to the seared albacore tuna with guacamole, the grilled Anaheim peppers and the grilled sardines. The service was great. We were very well taken care of. I couldn’t recommend this spot enough and we’re already looking forward to next summers lunch when we return.

Made reservations for my wife's birthday mid-September. Abul, the chef, delivered a delicious lineup of Portuguese style tapas. This was our ninth or tenth meal here over as many years and the food has always been excellent. The staff are engaging and friendly, making for a great dining experience. What made it extra special was that the chef and staff all came out to wish my wife happy birthday and made us a special dessert.

A really good experience at The Kitchen...if you like tapas - it's a style of dining that's not to everyone's taste. We love it 😊 We arrived hungry after a day of touring wineries so we ordered a lot! Started with a tasty hummus and baguette, followed with 2 seafood dishes, carried on to roasted cauliflower and duck leg confit, a pork belly on tomato and basil salad, fresh Saltspring Island mussels and clams, and meatballs with tomato chipotle sauce. Whew! But still room for dessert, lol - had the housemade cheesecake and the daily special which was an espresso creme brulee. Everything was delicious - well balanced flavors, fresh ingredients - the only quibble I had was with the squid, it was finished with very coarse salt that I found overpowering. But I eat very little salt so it may be just a personal taste thing for me. Recommended if you like tapas and enjoy taking your time over dinner. Ps the dining area is a covered patio, but they have propane heaters that kept it cozy as the night got chilly

The experience, the food, the lovely people, all absolutely outstanding. It always feels like we are Ruth family when we visit. And Abul’s menu and skill is outstanding. A MUST DO in Penticton.

The food was exceptional, across the board. The mussels were probably the most devine. The chef had an occasional presence out in the space and was welcoming. Good wine. Easy-going atmosphere. It was our server’s first shift (she had started only an hour before we got there) and she was very present and real with us. All of us on the deck took ownership when a sudden blast of rain and wind blew in. Says a lot about a place when we the customers can care as much about the place as the staff. Would be a tremendous place to go with a big table of people, order multiple dishes, drink lots of wine, and toast the chef. Great spirit about the place. Definitely we’ll return.

Great spot for a romantic Tapas experience in Penticton. The food was amazing, staff friendly but a little busy. The views were stunning with a beautiful sunset to cap it all off. A very nice Rose wine with dinner, I would definitely have it again and take some friends.
