This place is absolutely amazing! During our stay in Penticton, my wife and I had dinner here twice and tried many different items on the menu - all of which were delicious. Though we didn't get the chef's name, they must be extremely qualified because we're really picky eaters. The portions might seem intimidating at first, but the dinner always filled us up - quality over quantity. And the wine! It's truly world-class. We tried the rose, cab franc, and viognier, and all of them were amazing. The tequila/mezcal cocktail was also a hit. Some of the best wine we've tasted in the Okanagan.
Now, let's talk about the view - wow, wow, wow! We took so many pictures; it felt like heaven. The landscape is breathtaking. We'll miss this place until our next visit 🥂."
We went there for Mother's Day brunch this year and I was impressed by the little complimentary gestures of a coconut cookie and a glass of sparkling wine for our mom! The food was good. But let's face it, you're there for the view and it was such a beautiful day!
One word - DREAMY
Yes, we've all heard that BC wine country competes with France and Italy but this place TAKES THE CAKE
The evening views, the wine, the dinner ... I was taken back to Tuscany
My husband I booked a Golden hour dinner here for our 4th wedding anniversary and geez, we spent the evening in bliss
The prices were very reasonable compared to other wineries in the area but, I feel that the views just couldn't be beat
Given we did not have dinner / Golden hour at every winery we visited but this one was spectacular
If you're dining in the evening, I do recommend bringing a sweater for ladies wearing sleeveless dresses or those wearing short sleeves or shorts
For dinner, I recommend the steak or the pork belly - we had both and shared - they were DIVINE
The view from the restaurant is stunning! The wine was delicious and food was amazing. We loved our experience here!
Amazing views, wine (The Orange Pinot Gris) and food (garden risotto pictured). Our waitress was delightful and personable. Highly recommend! Thanks to Penticton Optical for recommending!
One of favourites especially for date night or when friends are in town. Staff are amazing, food is not only delicious but also attractively plated, and the views ❤️
We had my birthday lunch here during shoulder season. Food tasted great and our server was super nice and personable :) did i mention the view?
The poplar grove family of staff, once again ,as they have over the last 15 years, provided us with great wines in a pleasant welcoming environment. The wines have consistently been a true reflection of the terroir of the valley, from first taste to the last, every time we’ve visited.
We always try to stop in whenever we’re close.
A fantastic winery with delicious wines.
The wine tasting was very informative and thorough. Really enjoyed the walk through of everything Poplar Grove. Would highly recommend a visit here!
Wonderful location and excellent food. The one disappointing experience was the short time spent on the Wine tasting experience. The young lady did not engage with us or offer any detail regarding the winery or its unique wines. No interaction whatsoever. Would suggest she had further training before representing your winery.
Short-listed a few wineries & restaurants along Naramata Bench for hubby to choose & he chose this one based on the beautiful architectural design. Booked a table for lunch on the website & was offered a table by the window with breathtaking view. Our server was super-busy, but he made it up with extremely warm service & good recommendation on food. The house-made pasta he recommended was one of the best we’ve eaten. Slight criticism was the washroom could be cleaned more often, & no one was wearing masks any more.
My wife and I had great dinner here. The weather was great and the patio that have has a breathtaking view. The service was on point and the food was of a quality and presentation appropriate for its price. When we make our way back out to Naramata, we will definately make a dinner reservation for Poplar Grove.
Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in Penticton! The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in other mouths. Absolutely the best meal we had while in town. The wine was no joke either and is nothing to ignore. Highly recommend! Will most definitely visit again!
It’s always interesting to see which vineyards in this area have the huge budgets and which ones are a passion project. This is one of the ones with a huge budget. There are tons of staff, a huge patio, a gigantic property, and everything is branded. The wine glasses, the signs, the art, even the little wooden block your receipt comes in is covered with the Poplar Grove logo. They’ve definitely thought of every little thing.
The restaurant is pretty good. The price is reasonable, and there aren’t a ton of other places to eat on the bench, so it’s not like you have a choice, but it’s fine. You’ll probably be half-drunk from all the tastings by the time you get here anyway.
We found the staff to be pretty short with us, and not particularly friendly. That stood out for us after coming from some other nearby vineyards where the staff were amazing.
If you’re a nerd, you might find the patio interesting like I did. The whole roof is made of solar panels, which is neat to look at.
We loved their Syrah before visiting... now we love it. Cab Franc and Syrah are amazing. The location and decor is unreal but what was the highlight of the visit was the food. Full of flavours and well balance... The tartar and the parmesan appetizers are a most. Un incontournable, if you are in the area.
