Review Smitty's - Parksville

I enjoy coming here. Staff are always friendly, and obviously get to know a lot of their regulars. The food is simple, but done well and priced well.

Enjoyed So-cal eggs Benny with poutine hashbrowns, scrambled egg breaky and bacon Denver omlette with the family. Great service, great food.

We went in knowing that they were short-staffed (there was posted signage). We didn't have to wait (even though it was Canada Day and we thought it might be busy after the parade). The staff were lovely and the food came out quick. The only reason for the 3 star is that the food was pretty mediocre and not presented in a way that was appetizing. It was edible though!

From ordering to getting our food it was 55 minutes. Even short staff I’ve never weighted that long for breakfast in my life. If it’s gonna be a long time to get food at least let your customers know we thought we would be grabbing a quick bite and we had to be somewhere I was half an hour late to. It was Father’s Day so it was busy. If you don’t have the staff to accommodate a whole restaurant don’t seat a whole restaurant.

FOOD.. NOT WORTH THE PRICE!! SERVICE *WONDERFUL*... CRAPPIEST FISH DINNER .. not sure how to explain it.. outside looked over cooked.. inside kind of under and fish was DRY!!..?? Thinking I will start taking pictures of food...burgers were good.. Kids meal pizza not so good... so *FOOD👎* .... 1 STAR ZERO UNAVAILABLE **SERVICE 👍** ... 5 🌟 .. but I can not in all honesty give a 5 star to the restraunt !!! Use to love smithy's...

Maybe consider putting the whip/strawberry sauce in a seperate container for take out orders?

We love Smitty's! Staff are top notch, very helpful and have done a great job keeping things going well through COVID times and (no fault of their own) staff shortages. We stopped for breakfast and ordered our usual breakfast. It arrived cold but manager was very understanding and we will be back of course. Only one wee critique - the pancakes have shrunk by 50% and are no longer fluffy and wonderful. We would happily pay extra $$ to o have original size and fluffiness back! 😁👌 We also ate dinner here several months ago. Steak sandwich was cut up and on weird stir-fry tomato concoction that tasted sour. Please bring back traditional steak sandwich. Much of the pleasure of eating steak is cutting into it myself. I don't need to have my food cut up for me. Otherwise, excellent breakfasts!

Excellent service. The manager Rebecca was also waiting on tables and supporting her team. It is super busy in here and she is run off her feet. She made sure that my complicated order was perfect. All smiles. Customer service at its best even when they are incredibly short staffed and crazy busy.
