Went because of the good reviews but it was mediocre at best. Tasteless and not particularly well made, even the dynamite roll tasted odd. Must be catering to a crowd unfamiliar with what good sushi is like and like blind food.

Best Negitoro maki ever. It literally melts in my mouth. Always fresh and excellent service. Looking forward to having a lunch/dinner there again.

Excellent sushi and tempura. The mixed tempura had delicious prawns and a good mix of veg. We went for the mixed sushi too. Again a good combination. The scallop melted in the mouth. Staff were super nice and friendly. Price was decent too. Highly recommended!

The food here was fantastic! We called ahead and ordered chefs special with a dollar amount. 7 courses later we were bursting! Absolutely amazing food, great service, and the chef came out multiple times to check on us. Highly reccomend!

Sams is always fresh, fast and delicious. Its our go to for sushi everytime and has been for years! Everyone there has always been very friendly and inviting.

spoiled rotten on the mainland with authentic sushi & japanese food-worked for Koji Downtown at Pacific Ctr in Vancouver and learned about this wonderful food from the real pro's. Moving back to the island is marvelous but sure miss the varied foods. Stopped today in Parksville (I live in rural) and ordered a bunch of my sushi fave's - best dinner ever!!!

Best sushi I ever had , I’m with my parents while life gets back to normal, been waiting for this place to reopen and it was worth the wait, diffidently coming back, the rolls and appies have amazing taste and the food just melts in your mouth

Island sushi rating 4/5<br/>Lower mainland sushi rating 3/5<br/><br/>All in all it was a good meal. Moderately priced and the staff were really great. If you aren't used to being able to get sushi from places on the mainland then this is likely the some of the best sushi you will find within 100km of here.<br/><br/>That being said, the rolls were very sloppy and the flavor wasn't quite there. Some more effort into presentation would go a long way as receiving a roll where the rice is falling off isn't my idea of awesome.<br/><br/>Otherwise the restaurant was clean and the experience was enjoyable.

Great food & I mean everything on the menu is perfectly priced well balanced with perfect seasoning , the staff is so friendly and Sam will sometimes make you dishes not on the menu if you ask 😉<br/><br/>Thumbs 👎🏻 Closed on weekends when you are craving great sushi 😕<br/><br/>Fingers out 🤘🏻 I always go back, the popular combo i can not go wrong with it is filling and only $12 also any other sushi i order there I find is very fresh & satisfying !! UP - This place has quite a family feel to it. The sushi was pretty good, and prices where very low.<br/><br/>DOWN - Not the largest select on the menu, but a little bit of everything. The parking lot is also a little crazy with stalls pointing in every direction!<br/><br/>OUT - A nice little spot for those who live in the area.

Enjoyable food with good presentation. Average pricing and friendly service. The specialty rolls are where Sam's shine. I had the Una-Kyu, Kamikaze and Sunny roll and wasn't disappointed with any of them. Will defenitly be back.
