I've been going here for over 20 years and have NEVER had a disappointing meal, and the staff have ALWAYS been friendly and upbeat and a joy to be around. The atmosphere is built on the original general store that the building was, and is aimed at an informal British pub/Victorian drawing room feel (although the food is waaaaay beyond pub fare). It's hard to explain; go there and see. Knick knacks are brought in by patrons and have been multiplying over the years. They're kept on the shelves by the tables and you're welcome to inspect them, play with them, look through them, all you want. Some real antiques and memory shakers there.
Fabulous Dinner!. Had heard a lot of great things of this restaurant over the years but was pleasantly surprised still as it surpassed my expectations!!! I've dined at many of the best restaurants in Ottawa, and my meal at Brigadoon this weekend was comparable!! Just Excellent!! Beautiful atmosphere decorated for Christmas!! A little dated decor, but we're in the country! ;)
Great Restaurant. I have been here many times. It's in a great old building with lots of charm. The owner is extremly friendly and welcoming. The food is fantastic and have never had a bad meal there. I have had the Filet Mignon, salmon and had duck. I would like to try the wild boar next time I go. It's definitely worth the drive out to Oxford Mills.
Loved it! Only ate here twice, O made an urbanspoon account just to "like" this restaurant. It's worth the half hour drive from kanata. Rack of lamb is A1
the wild boar was cooked to my liking and the shitake mushroom and port wine sauce was a perfect complement to the strong gamey flavour of the meat.
My husband and I love going to the Brigadoon for birthdays and anniversaries. Today we went for High Tea to celebrate our 15th Wedding Anniversary. It was the fist time we ate on the patio. It was very beautiful with lots of flowers and greenery. The umbrellas allowed for lots of shade. The food was delicious as usual. The drink specials were fabulous and were lovely on this very hot day. The staff were amazing like always. High Tea was $35/pp which I though was very reasonable.
The Brigadoon was simply one of the best dining experiences of my life. What a hidden gem. Every last detail of this restaurant was well thought out and executed. The staff, including the owner, are absolutely delightful. The food was spectacular and the menu features a very generous variety of options to choose from. Highly recommended!
Located in a beautiful small-town setting, this must be one of the best restaurants my wife and I have ever been. The food is excellent, and the service professional and friendly. The atmosphere is convivial with all the antique mementos that gives a special mood to the place. While food is expensive, it is totally worth the experience. The food is high quality, very testy, well presented and the portions are quite appropriate. It is always a very enjoyable experience. I would like to add that on couple of occasions, the Chef prepared and modified the cooking to meet my food constraints. I wholeheartedly recommend the Brigadoon.
We don't go out very often to an expensive place to eat. However, when we do 80 percent of the time it is this place. Small town,(Oxford mills) with some nice old stone buildings. The restaurant itself is a great piece of architecture.
The menu is limited but there is something for everyone. Good appetizers, entries and sweet things.
I have almost tried everything on the menu from a wonderful salmon stuffed with asparagus, venison and yes even wild boar.
I would have never tried the boar anywhere but I new if I was going to try something new it would be here where it I was sure it would be cooked right.
The house wine was from Italy and was great. I followed up with the brownie dish and it was good too.
So, I good place to go if you want to splurge occasionally and enjoy really good food is this place, the Brigadoon.
Looking for a special night out? We have been here many times now and have never been disappointed. The service and qualified food are outstanding.
This restaurant is in a class all on its own. The atmosphere, the setting, the staff and the most incredible food we have ever had. Hats off to the chef for his fusion of flavours, the incredible combination of dishes and presentation.
It was our first time here but most definitely not our last. Highly, highly recommend this restaurant, you will not be disappointed.
My parents and I were on a road trip today out in the country. I googled to find restaurants that were open. I called, made reservations and we were there in 20 minutes.
We were warmly greeted. Bri, our waitress was amazing. The food was fresh, succulent, just excellent. This restaurant is a gem. We live in Orleans and will go back for sure.
We dined in. I had the steak which was absolutely delicious, vegetables & supposed to be potatoes but they forgot to serve them. Actually I had onions & the chef thought it was a substitute for the potatoes. So I ended up taking them home. My friend had salmon & pasta which was the best he had ever eater. We also had a little loaf of assorted bread. The bill was $85 plus tip of $12.00.
