Delicious!. Had the chicken methi and lamb vindaloo. Amazingly flavourful. Only regret is I wish we ordered more garlic naan... mmmm.
Indian Comfort food!. I order take out from here OFTEN!
My go to order is: Vegetable Pakoras, Karahi Chicken, Rice, and Naan.
All this with Tip is less than 35 dollars! Amazing!
Pakoras: SO flavourful and the sauce is so incredible
Karahi chicken: I order with medium heat because they take spiciness seriously at Karara! This curry is very flavourful and spicey. I love to order it, because it is a different flavour than your typical butter chicken, korma and tikka marsala.
Their Naan is a little doughy and thick, so generally NOT diet food, but a nice treat once and a while.
Pretty Good. I ordered butter paneer (cheese - like butter chicken) and a side of Aloo Tikki Chaat (spiced potato pancakes on top of spiced chick peas with yogurt, green and tamarind chutney)
I was really happy they did butter paneer for me (not on the menu) and the food was spiced well and was actually hot when I asked for it Hot...
The Aloo Tikki Chaat was really good too they accommodated my request request for extra tamarind chutney and I thought it was a great portion for a good price. I think they charge maybe $6 for it when other restaurants in the area are charging around $11 and it was made really well happy with it!!
The butter paneer could have been a larger portion but all in all from what I ordered i was happy. Naan was good too
Also will let you know i'm pretty familiar with indian food prob have eaten at 40 - 50 different restaurants. Not the best but I liked it!

Excellent take out Indian.... I've been craving it ever since.
Nice flavourful food ... thumbs up. I'm surprised at the some of the reviews about this Indian Takeout. We ordered last Sunday and the food was very good. We are vegetarians and they offer lot of vegetarian entrees, had meshed eggplant, channa masala (chic peas), yogurt Raita, Cauliflower dish was excellent. We have gone to this takeout numerous times and always had a good experience.
Awesome - Merivale location. I ordered delivery from this restaurant and IT WAS SOOO GOOD!
The nan tasted like it was made fresh that day - yum
It took a little over an hour to come but it was worth it.
The only advice I have for people who dont like spiciness is that the "mild" option still has some kick to it, but you can ask for it to be extra mild in the comments.
I will absolutely be ordering from them again.
Yummy..... The food is so delicious. I ordered saag paneer and channa masala with Garlic naans.. Its so good. I never had saag paneer like this.... Keep it up....
Usually good, but that's the problem.... Karara can be great Indian food, and it can be bad Indian food. The issue is consistency - not only order-to-order but within the order as well. For example, one of my last orders was great, however the Tandoori chicken was bone-dry and burnt....it was like eating wood chips. Everything else was great - chicken curry, veggie korma, chana marsala, Naan, etc all good. The other day the korma was so overspiced with anise it was difficult to stomach - usually you barely notice it in the dish, yet everything else was great....so....in conclusion, it is good, but inconsistent. I will also add that the prices are a little on the high side - dinner for 4 will set you back at least $80.
Good food. I'm from the UK and really miss my Indian takeaways (they're not as popular on this side of the pond). I was thrilled when an Indian takeaway opened in my suburb, and even more thrilled when I found out they used to run one in Scotland! Their food is great and my picky husband eats just about anything on the menu. I don't like chancing it with delivery, so I can't comment on delivery time, but food is always ready when I order to pick up. Everyone I know has been pleasantly surprised with the food there. The only thing I would say is it can get a bit pricey for what you get, but I like to eat Indian food in moderation anyway since I have a sensitive tummy -- so it's worth it if it lasts me two days!
New chef maybe?. IF so, I hope he/she stays for a LONG time! Been ordering from them since they opened in Barrhaven. The food has always been good. This past Friday we ordered Vegetable Korma, half a Tandoori Chicken, and a garlic Naan. Saying this meal was good would be an understatement! Layers of flavour that went on forever. The chicken was moist, even the white meat, which can be dry sometimes. The naan was WOW. I think we might make another trip next week. And, the online ordering is FANTASTIC!
