The service isn't the friendliest but they are still nice people. It has been are go to sushi place for years and we love it. Other than a few hit and misses, this is your go to place for all you can eat dim sum items and sushi. Tempura is quite good and not overly greasy. Sushi is great and if you pay cash you get 10% off.

The service is bad but at least you don't have to interact with the staff that much due to the ordering tablets.
Good place for AYCE sushi, service is ultra fast and friendly. Plenty of parking and friendly staff

Seaweed salad is homemade and portions are reasonable so you can try different things
Solid prices for lunch and dinner. I would say it is great for the prices. Just gotta be careful with your orders. They may add too much panko. Keep it simple order the expensive items . It usually is better at the AYCE!
I`ve had better experiences than bad ones. I will agree with some of the other patrons, the quality of food depends on who`s making it. I would recommend going during peak times (weekends) but the lunch prices are really good. It`s kind of like playing roulette sometimes..
Much like all the other AYCE sushi places but much cheaper. We love this place. It has every one of the problems we have experienced at other AYCE sushi places (1000 Islands, Kan, Hockey etc.): sometimes orders get lost, sometime service is slow, but it is a great value. The sushi is as good as any of the other AYCE places. This is not Festival Japan; if you want a-la-carte sushi go spend $50-60 per person and stop moaning about the "poor quality" of all you can eat; for real sushi snobs the quality won't make you happy. For the rest of us, balancing cost with value, to have a nice night out with our family Banc Sushi is awesome. We go once a month and get out the door for under $80 for two adults and two kids 6/8 including tip and drinks.
Depends on who's in the kitchen.. Some days it's great and others mediocre. I hope they can sort this out.

Mixed experiences.. I had two excellent visits, then one okay one, and one terrible one. I keep forgetting that the cooked food is consistently terrible here. Like someone else said it tastes freezer burned - and then you have to eat it or pay.
They more often than not have good fish here though. I've never had bad fish here, but I have had some bad cuts with stringy pieces. If you're like me and don't like an abundance of rice, order sashimi pieces.
Sometimes they get really creative with the presentation which is a nice surprise.
Their cucumber and cream cheese wrapped with smoked salmon is ridiculously tasty, even if it's not really sushi.
Service at these AYCE places are all the same, I don't get why people expect miracles. People typically go up to pay at these places, and they don't make chit chat with customers or ask how you're doing. It's just how AYCE sushi places are, and a lot of staff don't even speak good English or French. I honestly like being left alone to eat so long as they keep bringing the right things and don't suddenly decide for me that I should stop ordering so much. Last time I went they were very slow and kept bringing the wrong things or not in the right quantity. Trust me, servers, we notice when you "forget". That to me is is what would not be considered acceptable service for a place like this and is what I hope people are complaining about.
Takeout is of very good value and speedy. *update: ordered takeout 3 other times and it was consistently good and fast
Ordered the party tray A, 42 pieces for 22 dollars, plus some salmon sashimi and miso soup. We've tried at least 10 sushi places in the city and found this to be of the best value for money for this kind of sushi. The fish was fresh, the rolls very large, and the assortment included lots of salmon and tuna, unlike most other places that put fake crab (surimi), shrimp and other cheaper ingredients. The sashimi pieces were huge! Got 5 large and thick pieces of salmon for $4.5. The miso soup was good, not too salty. We were very satisfied and will go back but probably not for the AYCE. A la carte is cheaper.
My wife and I went on a Saturday night around 6pm and they weren't lightly busy. They have a lot of variety and the food was tasty. The Great Canadian roll was unexpected as we thought it would be on top of a standard roll instead of sitting amongst the mushrooms and scallops - but tasty nonetheless. It was about the same as 168 Sushi but with maybe a little bit more variety in rolls.
We went on a Friday night. The service was quick and our drinks refilled promptly...they were a little weird in that no one really "spoke" to us, just buzzed in and out refilling our drinks and dropping out orders off. Our orders were not timed at the same time (two of us), but there was not a huge delay between them. The good and presentation was ok. I've had better but I've had worse. Overall, I'd give it a thumbs up- 7/10.

I dont know why people keep saying the service is bad. i went for lunch with my sister and we botrh enjoyed it. food was good and the service was quick and friendly. it wasnt our favorite spot but definetly worth trying and going back. dinner time has more options for all you can eat but still good to go for lunch. price is fair. give it a try

AMAZING. Banc Sushi is the best place to go in Ottawa. The outside throws you off and doesn't look the greatest but the food is amazing!
We've been going here for 3 years and we go at least 2-3 times a month. Their spicy mayo is amazing. The cheese wontons are a hit with my boyfriend.
I've eaten at 6 of Ottawa's sushi restaurants. Banc is number one for all you can eat sushi in my opinion. The staff is great, the sushi is fresh and the restaurant is clean. We were very happy with the variety of maki rolls offered here. The variety is greater than that offered at sushi khan, for example. Will definitely return whenever I'm craving sushi!
If you've had sushi寿司 before, and you like sushi. It's a nice place to go!

Great sushi. I have been going to this sushi place for over 6 months now, and it is always great and fresh sushi. They sometimes mess up an order, but they're small plates (which is nice - more variety). Very fast service (amazingly fast!), and the food is really great tasting and sushi is fresh (and I've lived abroad and have been sushi forever).
The prices are a bit high ($20 each - although the same at all the you can eat sushi buffets), as I am a small woman who just can't eat enough to get into my money. We've actually started ordering the takeout platters as they are cheaper and you get more!

Great AYCE sushi!. I used to be a regular at Sushi Kan, and started exploring the other AYCE sushi joints in Ottawa. So far, Banc Sushi is probably one of my favorites.
The service is fine, nothing stellar, the staff is pleasant and polite. I noticed that since it's nowhere near as crowded as Sushi Kan, you tend to get your orders a lot faster.
However, Banc Sushi wins a lot of points in my book for it's food. I find the rice really well cooked, the sushi literally melts into your mouth. The fish and avocado are very fresh too. Also, the quality of the tempura is a lot better than other places.
Banc Sushi has definitely became a regular spot for my boyfriend and I whenever we get a craving for some great sushi!

Very good!. My wife and I had the lunch buffet yesterday; we ordered mostly the rolled sushi, and also had the miso soup and edamame beans. All were very good, service was quite good as well. For the amount of sushi we had I believe this restaurant offers great value.
To the poster who said the sushi was "warm, a big no-no", yes, you probably ordered from the "Fried" section of the menu which is indeed served warm (of course it's warm, it just came out of a fryer - sorry you didn't understand this). There are other varieties of sushi on the menu in the "Rolled, Spicy Roll, Hand Roll, ..." sections that are all correctly served at room temperature.
Banc sushi is very good all you can eat however I would rate it behind Sushi Kan based on the spicy salmon and salmon roses. Although still a great value in my opinion. Note these places are only a great value if you have a good appetite. If you are going to eat 2 rolls you need to go somewhere else.
Sometimes the sushi is so fresh that the rice is still warm. I love this but sometimes it turns people off. This means that the rice is fresh AND that the roll was just rolled! Its a good thing but I think some people think it means the sushi has been sitting in the sun.

It was very very good but the price point is off by a bit especially if you go with two people, cost around 50 with tip. The service isn't the best, slow at times, and in my opinion the waiters didn't really seem to care about their tables.

Best AYCE so far. I've been to a few All-You-Can-Eat places in Ottawa over the past couple of years and I have to say I was most impressed with Banc. Don't let the outside appearance fool you, the decor and food quality (for an AYCE) is quite good. Update: Fuji Sushi opened not to far away and is as good if not a little better than Banc.
Best Bang for your Buck. This is a great all-you-can eat sushi place. Just go and you'll see!
There are always plenty of servers that are much more attentive than say Sushi Kan (Baseline). Also the rolls come out like lightening, and some how still taste amazing.
The lunch time weekday prices are the best ($12 per person) but the dinner only options are well worth a dinner visit for a bit more ($19 per person).
The atmosphere here is great and its always busy, which is never a bad sign. Go and enjoy Banc Sushi!

Fantastic!. I don't have too many foodie beefs about Ottawa, but one of them was having trouble finding a DELICIOUS and CHEAP sushi restaurant. I have been to Genji, Kinki and Toyota -- and they are all very good. And they make for a great night out on the town.
But sometimes, I just want some fabulous, quick, cheap rolls and sushi.
Living in the neighborhood, we hit Banc Sushi right away. And though it's located on a forlorn stretch of Montreal Rd. - it was packed inside.
We have had take out probably in the neighborhood of 12 times in the past year and love this place.
It isn't fancy, but it is fresh and delicious and embarrassingly cheap. We order way too much food for two people and it's never more than $25. And they offer a 10% discount if you pay cash or debit.
We love all the rolls, the sushi - but haven't ventured too much into the sashimi here.
They even give you tea while you're sitting waiting for your take-out. Nice touch!

If you want all you can eat sushi in Ottawa, this is the place to go for either lunch or dinner. Food was tasty, very good selection and restaurant was very clean. I've been there twice and found it to be consistent.
If You Must Eat All-You-Can-Eat Sushi.... ...this is the lesser evil of them all. Service bent over backwards to make some of my group happy (very accommodating to dietary restrictions) and have a very good selection.
I won't comment on freshness or quality of the fish because, well, this IS still all you can eat...
