Best burgers in town. Staff is great! Very cold if you sit near the windows though in the winter.
They recently opened one of these restaurants in Sudbury but we’ve never tried it. We were hungry for a burger while visiting Ottawa and this restaurant fell into our pathway. By far one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The bacon was extra crispy and added an awesome texture to the burger! Definitely going to visit the Sudbury location . Good job Ottawa!
Earlier this month I made a couple of trips out to Barrhaven to visit clients for my business. After a client visit I usually stop off for a meal before heading home. Five Guys Burgers & Fries (1181 Greenbank Road, Ottawa) is near OC Transpo's Strandherd Transitway station and also easily accessible from the nearby Greenbank Road. I use this as great spot to both transfer from nearby streets to Ottawa's transit system to head homewards.
Good burgers...but slow down on the fries there Sparky!!!. First time there. Service was quick exactly what I wanted.
The only surprise I got was that they gave our two orders with fries.....then dumped a heap of more friex in the bag, covering everything is a salty, oily mess.
If I was hungover from a night of drinking I wouldn't have an issue.
Although pretty pricey, they make a great burger. The servings of fries are huge - we get a small for 3 of us (including a 16 year old male which should say something!)
Average. We've tried Five Guys several times. The burgers are ok, but nothing special. The best comparison would be the type of burger one could get from a chip truck.
The French fries were the surprising part. During our first visit, we were cautioned (by the cashier) about ordering two fries....she was 100% right. and that honesty hasn't been forgotten.There were more than enough fries for two. Since then, we've noticed that the volume of fries has gradually been scaled back on subsequent visits...no problem with that.
Overall, the food has been consistent, and served in a clean, modern restaurant. The staff were friendly.

Awesome burger. I went to a Five Guys in Virginia and loved their burgers. Went to the one in Barhaven tonight and was satisfied again. Lots of tasty fries. Also free peanuts.

Happened upon this place when I was starving - having never heard of it. Took a look at the menu and saw the burgers were typically priced for what u get at a pub... Ordered some "small" fries and a drink with my bacon cheeseburger.
I saw a few ppl munching on peanuts at the tables then discovered the burlap bags of peanuts on the counter with little help urself trays. So I did! Must have polished off quite a few peanuts by the time my order was up.
I grab my bag from the counter (quite heavy!) and look inside to see the bag COMPLETELY full of spicy fries! I literally had to dig through the fries to get my burger (with the works on it). Talk about fully loaded juicy burger! It was divine... I was in burger heaven. 5 mins later and that bad boy had a new home... My belly...
Now I may have been vulnerable to bias since I was absolutely starving, but I still think of that burger as one of the best I've had in a while. I personally thanked the guys on the grill... I know it's always appreciated when someone says thank u and it was well deserved!
Go here if u want a great burger and love fries!!!
Great burgers. They run a close second to Ottawa's Hintonburger for having the best hamburger in town. Spotlessly clean location in Barrhaven deserves special mention. I'd eat there more often if it weren't for the open barrels of peanuts that they offer to guests.
Had it in U.S before it came here. Don't know what it is but every time I have a burger from here I like it even more If you can find it under the fries!.It's like they put something in it to cause an addiction!Get mine with everything plus hot sauce Sloppy but delicious!and the fries are great too.
Fantastic Burger!. Love the Five Guys. While these may not be photogenic burgers, your taste buds will thank you.
Word of warning...these burgers can be eaten while driving...well maybe with a bib!
Best burger I've ever had...period. My wife and kids agree with me. So fresh, packed full of fresh ingredients and flavor. The fries are awesome, and this is coming from someone who genuinely doesn't like or eat fries. Anyone who says this place doesn't serve the best burger you'll ever have is talking nonsense. Try it, you'll be hooked!
Good. Had a chance to eat there on recommendation of a friend. The restaurant sit down is very plain and functional, does not get many points for atmosphere. We only waited a couple minutes for them to be ready. Cheese melting and very tasty burgers for certain. As for the fries, after scooping enough to fill the box up and placing it in a paper bag, they scoop more in to fill the bag up to ensure you are able to feed a small country. Overall a bit pricy for burgers and fries, but would definitely go there again!
Great Burgers and Fries!. My husband and I originally tried Five Guys when we were on vacation in the US, and we loved it and couldn't wait for this chain to show up in Ottawa. The Barrhaven location doesn't disappoint. The burgers taste fresh and non-artificial, and the fries are great (hubby likes the cajun fries). The only recommendation is to eat there rather than bringing it home, as the buns get really soggy if not eaten right away.
I love a simple menu - burgers and fries. Do one or two things and do them well - recipe for success if you ask me. This place did not disappoint. Deliciousness in every bite.... Ps grab lot of napkins
Atmosphere can be enjoyable, Burgers are great if you don't mind greasy food. Fries were not the greatest but that was understandable because of how packed it was in there. I reccomend giving it a try before any lunch and dinner rushes start. 7/10

Benny. That;s a migthy fine burger,and the hot dog and fries are good add the hot peppers there nice and spicy and there fresh jalapenos fried mushrooms and onions man what more do want!!!
There fries were amazing . W/ peanut oil so that's why ... Burger was blah I need to go back though because when I went it was wayyyyuu tooooo busy ao the burger turned out wrong at first but quickly changed
Had a little bacon burger. It was a sloppy delicious mess! I large fry was more than enough for all of us. Prices are reasonable

So we lined up to order. The place was busy, but not packed. But you had to wait in line a few minutes before ordering, which gave us the time to wonder which of the 250,000 possible topping combinations we would select. Mel ordered a Mini Bacon Cheeseburger ($5.49) with lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, ketchup, mustard and jalapenos. I went with a Cheeseburger ($7.49) with mayonnaise, lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, ketchup, mustard, and A1 steak sauce. After thinking about it, we decided to share a large order of fries ($4.59) rather than getting a regular one each. Soft drinks are self-serve once you purchase the cup, and you get free unlimited refills, so there is no point in getting a big one if you are planning to dine-in.
