Amazing food and service by Tony. Every time we come in we're treated to the best pho in the market. Do yourself a favour and check this place out
Love this place!
Fantastic food and service.
Best Iced Coffee in Ottawa :)
We've been coming here for years. Best Vietnamese cuisine hands down! My fav dish is the vermicelli (20,21,22,23) and their tea is simply amazeballs! Give 'em a try.
Best peanut sauce in town with their shrimp rice wraps & the rare beef spicy pho is bomb dot com!
Love going here..nice service, great food. Did a take out today for some pho soup. they packaged it very delicately for me thank you!
Great Vietnamese food with excellent service. Will come back for sure!
This was our first try with Vietnamese food and this place gave a perfect start. We ordered sweet art tea which is speciality here. It's a hot tea served in cute pot and enjoyed in small cups. Loved every sip of it. Owner of this place suggested us Pho soup as we were trying for the first time and his order was excellent. Pho noodle soup has off course noodles, fried tofu, fresh veggies and really hot with Vietnamese spices. Enjoyed every sip of this soup and recommend this place to all. It gives good quantity and even one dish is difficult to complete by two. Good place and must visit when you are in Ottawa.
The pho (because that's what we're really here for): Really tasty broth, a surprisingly large amount of meat, at least in the sirloin soup, but not as many noodles as you might be expecting. I've personally never had a problem with the service, but I noticed during my most recent visit that the server was quite rude to the customers next to us who were asking questions. Not the best pho in town, but will definitely hit the spot if you don't want to treck out to Chinatown.
I ordered the beef pho (extra beef and pork) while I have limited experience with pho, I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of food and service I received. I would have rated higher but it was a little on the expensive side. I will be ordering from here again!
A lot of vegetarian options, with its own separate menu so you don't have to search a large menu for the only two options like most Asian restaurants! The bowl was very large and tasty. The summer rolls were so good too. Loved the service, would recommend it again :)
Authentic Pho spot in the market. Priced a bit high compared to Chinatown but given the location, it is to be expected. Love the tofu vermecilli. My husband usually goes for the chicken pho with extra meat. The owners are quite friendly too and always seem happy to serve us when we come in. We usually go around 5-6pm since we have younger kids so not sure what the atmosphere is like when it's late out when all the bar hoppers come out but it's usually quiet and a nice eating environment when we go!
BEST. PHO. HANDS. DOWN.. I literally never write reviews, and I have gone onto urban spoon specifically so I can do it for this restaurant. Don't let the somewhat odd decor and website deter you; the food is amazing. Actually fresh vegetables. Homemade, additive free soup. No msg (because "not good for healthy"!). Good quality beef. Even the soundtrack is great. I wish I had discovered this place sooner.
Rice dishes are very good and Pho is good but not the best (lots of meat though if you get beef). Depending on the waiter/tress, the dinning experience can be good or bad (sometimes gave me trouble when I asked to substitute rice noodles for rice...other times didn't...other times charged me extra).
Found this gem while walking around downtown. Wasn't sure what I would expect since I was downtown but amazingly enough it tasted amazing and the man who served me was a sweetheart! I had the Vegetarian Vermiccilli (#54). I'm DEFINITELY going back again. Go! It's delicious!
Good Pho Downtown. As much as I love going to China town for my pho fix it can be far at times (especially after a long day). I was looking for a closer alternative that could satisfy my pho appetite. That's why I dicided to check out this establishment.
I went with the family and I we ordered the spring rolls (made with rice paper), crispy tofu, vermicilli, vegetatiran/seafood pho. All dishes were spectacular. The spring rolls were fresh, big, and even had a spring roll within them. We're talking spring roll inception here. The crispy tofu was delicious and served up in a sweet pineapple sauce. The vegetarian pho was the BOMB. A full assortment of veggies that were not overcooked and the broth was delicious. The only downside is that its a little more expensive than Chinatown but at least it's close by.
Good food and fast service!. Service was prompt and friendly. Spicy (sate) noodle soup was really good. Not too oily or salty broth. Got tons of fresh bean sprouts and basil. Generous portion and good presentation with nice bowl and dishes.
I found the price was just about right. Maybe a little higher side but, I would go back to this place again.
Food was lacking, but everything else was great. Very cozy little place, especially at night when the LED lights are on; friendly staff and manager; good service. The food was a bit disappointing. The pho was bland and not as steaming hot as what I've had at other restaurants. The fried pork spring rolls were not the crispy Vietnamese spring rolls I expected; they were also lukewarm so they probably came from the box.
Will return in spite of the food since it really is a lovely little place.
Really good pho! It was very filling and tasty. No complaints from this food junkie.
Now Open Late. Their "Pho By Night" is now open late Friday and Saturdays until 4 am. Good spot to eat after the clubs if you want some asian food. The brothers that work there late night are cool. It is a family run restaurant so service is always nice and good.
All in all great soup and friendly service. Great spot for Pho downtown in the market.
Hospitality plus. Great food, very friendly and hospitable owner and staff
Fresh, fabulous, fast, and oh so friendy. My favourite Vietnese food in Ottawa!!!
The rare sirloin pho broth had a very mild taste, not as flavorful as the Chinatown joints. Try the crispy rolls - to die for!
Great Vegetarian and Gluten Free Menu. Sweet Art was recommended to me by a few of my friends to have a delicious vegetarian and gluten free menu. After dining here, I highly recommend this restaurant to all those looking for tasty vegetarian cuisine. The owner and servers were very attentive to our specific needs and allergies. Very few dishes contain peanuts and just to be on the safe side make sure to communicate if you cannot eat peanuts.
The majority of the menu is gluten free except for no more than 3 dishes. The remaining gluten free menu is very fresh with nice presentation of the dishes. For appetizers, I had #48 (Vegetarian summer rolls), which had a nice crisp to them accompanied with an amazing peanut sauce. For the main, I had # 52 (vermicelli with tofu and vegetables in lemongrass soup). This soup was amazing as well. At first it had what appeared to be meat in it, but I then learned it was bean curd and tasted great as well. For dessert, I had the gluten free Banana Creme Brulee, made by the owner's wife, who is apparently also the Pastry Chef from the Westin Hotel.
Perhaps the good sign/ test to a vegetarian menu is if a non -vegetarian is also satisfied. My friend who does not often eat vegetarian had the vegetarian springrolls as well as stir fried curry tofu with green and red vegetables on rice. He was also very satisfied, which was a plus.
The decor of the restaurant is clean with bright multi color walls, much different from other Vietnamese restaurants I've been in. It is a family run restaurant and the service was friendly. The owner is very nice and you can tell he genuinely enjoys his business and customers.
All in all, a great experience and I will definitely add Sweet Art to my vegetarian destinations in Ottawa. And apparently they just started opening late on Friday and Saturday nights to cater to the "club" crowds, so give it a try if you're around at that time.
Fresh and Healthy. I have to disagree with Amy's review. Me and my girlfriend have frequented Sweet Art (as well as Ahora downstairs) for years and we love their Pho, especially the spicy beef soup. It's a nice change from Chinatown with a cleaner environment and the food is much more fresh. Glad to have such family friendly service in the neighbourhood.
Great Pho and Rolls. Came here with a group of 8 recently on a friday night. Place was pretty busy. I have to say that they make the best peanut sauce I've ever tried. I highly recommend the Summer Rolls with peanut sauce and the Spicy Pho. Will definitely have to try desserts next time as they looked delicious.
Highly recommended if you are looking for Vietnamese in the Market.
I had the #52 - a vegetarian lemon grass soup with vermicelli noodles. Ir was delicious. I also had a mango cream (?) dessert which was excellent. I was instantly welcomed as soon as I got in. The owner of the place served me and was very friendly but not imposing. I was told the owners wife worked in the Westin hotel for some years and has designed (and possibly makes) all deserts here. Great experience overall. I highly recommend this place.
Fantastic. Have been several times and always had an excellent experience. The staff is extremely friendly. The first time we went it was a slow night and we chatted with the staff a bit. Upon our return a few weeks later they remembered us - this has created a very welcoming environment every time we go. Food is excellent and we have tried multiple menu items. Small dining area, but it creates a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Some of the best pho in town! The staff is friendly and approachable, recognizing returning fans of the food. All dishes are beautifully presented; it is quite clear the staff takes pride in their creations. Delicious yet inexpensive. Most definitely worth a try!
