Most delicious fries i have ever tasted. I had them as a side dish. My main dish was the classic burger and it was perfectly tasty. I was with my family and we chose the restaurant based on the location. We sat at the terrace border and loved it. Everyone enjoyed the meal. 2 thumbs up.
I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome of the meal my friend and I shared. We had the chicken nachos with guacamole and it was superb. I would have loved a little more cheese on it to compliment the other left out pieces but it was still delicious. Our other friend had a burger with sweet potato fries (the fries were awesome). We then had the baked hot cookie dessert with ice cream it was delicious. Our waiter was amazing! I do recommend those pieces!
The to go to place! Great music,always! Their drinks are pretty good and so is their food! Love it! Service is always super friendly. They open till late too!
Always a good moment when I go there... On the patio, enjoing my steak on a lava stone. It's always full, 20min waiting if you go there without a reservation! But that worth it! Great food, great service! Good price too!

I have no idea what these bad reviews are about. Have been there 4 or 5 times (once with my fiancé, once with my father, and a few other times with girlfriends) and it has always been great at lunch and dinner. They have a large drink menu, and have had some of the best martinis here! Not watered down like some of the other reviews have said, my friends and I actually thought they were on the verge of over pouring (strong but good!). I do admit that the service isn't always the most attentive, I've only been there when it's full and didn't expect the server to be checking on us every couple minutes. But we honestly thought that was fine, we didn't need the constant service and enjoyed being free from interruptions. Other than that, the service was good (with the waiter offering us to get half fries and half salad as our sides when we couldn't decide) and the food was as good as any other restaurant I've had in the Byward Market. The burgers are fabulous! Some of the dinner dishes may be a bit expensive, but that comes with the location. $12.99 to $14.99 for a large burger or wrap and side of choice is pretty good.
Good, but Overpriced!!. Was walking around in the area and decided to stop by here with my bf. It was around 11pm on a Thursday and while the music was blaring and patio open, we were the only customers. I was slightly nervous about the evening because after we connected to wifi I looked this place up and realized it had such poor feedback. Fortunately, we had no issues throughout our meal. Service was quick all evening, but drink prices were a little on the expensive side. For food we tried the Margarita pizza, which was large enough to feed both myself and my bf. The pizza was flavorful, filling, and had lots of toppings. Only downside was pricing. For 1 pizza and 2 drinks it was over $40, which is expensive considering the number of nearby choices in the area.
Recently visited for the Thursday night special 2 apps and 2 moj-tinis for $20. I had the spinach dip and the spring rolls and both were excellent. The moj-tini a mix between a mojeto and a martini was great. Service was quite poor, took forever to pay seemed as though they didn't want our money. Overall I would return based on the food.
Great restaurant. I went in a fairly large group and they said they burnt my food and gave it to me for free along with free fries. The spinach dip was good and the chipotle chicken was outstanding. Great service! Alright prices! Awesome food! I'm definitely going back
From the second you get here, the lighting, the atmosphere, the music and especially the BOOTHS grab your attention. Beautiful layout, makes for a great atmosphere for an outing with a date or friends.
Food wise, we were very impressed, the rock grill menu has steaks that are brought out to you virtually uncooked, on a steaming hot rock grill, we got to cook our own steaks at our table, interesting and absolutely delicious. The perfect customization.
Drinks were also delicious, we had the jolly rancher margarita and it was great.
Lastly service was incredible, friendly staff, and very professional.
I literally made an urban spoon account just to share this. Great place, recommend it.

Delicious food, good service.. Went to Cornerstone for the first time since I was diagnosed with a gluten intolerance and was happy to see that the gluten free items were labelled. However, I was disappointed that there were only a few options; all but one were steak! I had the Thai Red Curry Chicken, which was delicious! Hope to see more gluten free options in the future.
The hostess was not so kind, but our server was great.

I've been a patron of Cornerstone Bar and Grill (and Bar) for what seems like ages! The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is that of a casual, upscale, comfortable place that keeps me coming back! On top of the ever-courteous staff, who seem to be able to suggest a new and fun cocktail for me every visit, the new menu is just BEYOND my expectations...I suggest Cornerstone to everyone looking for a bright and unique place to experience all a restaurant has to offer...keep it up!
GREAT NEW MENU!. I just went to Cornerstone last weekend - have always loved it there. But I was excited to see they have a new menu. My husband and I shared a few plates, including the dumplings (unreal, served in a bamboo steamer!) and the tacos (so good, totally like authentic "street tacos" you'd find in Cabo!). We had a few other dishes too but we'll definitely be back to try more. As always, the service was friendly and fast, even on a busy night. The drinks were delicious and generous. We had a great time and would highly recommend it. Cornerstone continues to be our "go-to" spot in the market.
Went in here this past June for my birthday; it was great! The staff were phenomenal and the food was good! I had a few drinks, among them a lime margarita that I had to send back. Other than that the drinks were spot on. I had the rock grill, it was so good! Definetly would like to go back if I'm ever in the market sometime!

Cornerstone bar and grill!. I went to the market with my boyfriend on saturday night, as it was a beautiful day and as soon as we got there we saw that every where was packed, but cornerstone had a huge patio and we thought we'd have a better chance there! as soon as we got there, the hostess approached us and told us it would be a wait but told us we could go to the bar and have a drink while we waited. i ordered a raspberry mojito (delicious by the way!) and my boyfriend opted to get a canadian which we quickly finished due to the heat. we waited for about 15 minutes, which the host said was around standard time. we were sat on the side patio, which was pretty crowded i won't lie, but at least we were seated. our waitress approached us and we asked for a pitcher of coors, but we were disappointed to find out they didn't have any. we ended up having a pint each, which was fine! i ordered the italian pannini with a side order of poutine, and my boyfriend had the rock grill which we were surprised to find out you cooked yourself. he thought it was a cool idea. when the food came, it did take a while for his steak to cook but he loved it! i saw on here that peopple thought it was dumb to pay that much, but everytime we go to the keg or some where that they cook the steak, they don't usually do a good job! i don't know, we had a good experience! sure there somethings that need to be worked on, like maybe adding a couple other steaks that they cook, adding pitcher, and maybe letting some of the servers have less tables so that they can focus on the tables but we had fun and we will definitely be going back despite these few little mistakes!

Great service, great atmosphere, overall great time!. I spent the afternoon on the cornerstone patio this past weekend with a few friends and I had a fabulous time!
The patio was packed but we were seated very shortly after arriving, our server was great, she knew the menu very well and made good recomendations. I had the signature mohito, which was by far the best i've had yet, and my friends shared a pitcher of sangria that they also said was very tasty. We shared the guacamole dip and hummus platters which were delivered to us in a timely manner and they both tasted great, like they were fresh made. I had the club wrap, simple and classic, but it met my expectations and i was surprised at the variety of sides that were offered with the dish. I chose the sweet potato fries to go with my meal and like the rest of the food they were very good. Overall i was impressed and can't wait to return on the next sunny day and try another option from their wide selection of items on the menu. The fun atmosphere, gorgeous patio, great food and service definitely make this the place to be this summer.
Great day in the sun!!!!. When me and my buddy arrived we were greeted by many hostesses and servers and we were shown to a patio seat right away! It was a beautiful day regardless but the atmosphere and great service only added to the experience. Me and my friends will be regulars at the Cornerstone Bar and Grill by the end of the summer!
I've been to Cornerstone 3 times now. Nice ambiance and excellent service. Great pizza - my favorite is the Chicken Pesto. The Roasted Chicken and Pear is superb. For a starter, the calamari is very, very nice. Cornerstone also has some decent wines. This place can get busy on the weekends so be sure to make a reservation. And in the winter time you might not want to sit too close to the door (it can get cold). Overall - thumbs up!
Went there a couple weeks ago and had the best steak I have had yet in Ottawa with an amazing cheese sauce ontop not too much tho just right. Definetly recomended and the patio is awsome too!
