Enjoyed a vegetarian pizza on their patio this afternoon. Pizza crust was light and crunchy in a good way, toppings were generous and cheese was perfectly melted.
Unsure what's up with the negative reviews. Place is tired but staff is friendly and helpful and I will definitely come back and have their pizza again. :)

Best Pizza. If you are going to Papa Sam's, be sure to have the pizza. They have been making this pizza for a long time, and I haven't found better pizza in the city.
Best In The West End. Certainly the best pizza in the west end of Ottawa and in the top two or three in the city. Not that this is a hard thing to do in a city with mediocre pizza overall.
Like it for the pizza. Pizza is exceptional, especially during the week. I suspect the same chef isn't in on weekends, as there is a noticeable decline in the quality on many weekends.
One of my Favorites. If you live in the area, do not hesitate. Pay Papa Sam's a visit. It's a friendly atmosphere. A nice little family owned restaurant, with good food for the right price. They make some of the best pizzas around, my favorite being the meatball pizza. Do not forget to try the Philadelphia Steak either!
