I visited Waverley yesterday, for the first time since the pandemic.
Service was incredible — our server was very friendly and attentive. She also made great recommendations. We tried the Rice and cheese balls as well as the seafood fettuccine. Both dishes were amazingly delicious. The Rice and cheese balls had the perfect amount of cheese, and the outside was crispy and golden. They were served on a tomato and cheese sauce, which was very flavorful and paired perfectly together. The fettuccine was fresh and cooked to perfection. The tomato sauce was excellent, and the tomato flavor was not overpowering. The seafood was delicious and presentation was great.
I would definitely recommend Waverley. The food, service and atmosphere were outstanding.
Great food, amazing staff and fun atmosphere!! I would definitely recommend for people that love to dance or just come for drinks with some friends.
Came here on a Saturday night! Ordered the wine from Italy; suggested by the bar tender. He definitely is knowledgeable and has great recommendations on the different wines. My friend ordered a cocktail and I must say it was awesome! We had the calamari to share. The portion was very decent and the sauce that it came with was yummy! The music started playing around 10:30ish and the DJ they played great music! Would come here again on Friday and Saturday nights!
We went to The Waverly on Elgin street with another couple on a Saturday night. Online reservations were simple to make.
The meals and services were very good. I had the Short Rib sandwich, it was a little oily, but the taste was great. Paired with some salty matchstick fries. My wife had the butternut gnocchi and she said it was very good (so did another at our table). My other friend had the waverly burger and she said it was one of the best she's had.
The cheese board was very simple with only 3 kinds of cheese (maybe 3-4 slices of each) and some jam and croustini's... not worth the $16 price tag in my mind.
Overall, food was very tasty, selection on the menu was pretty wide too. A couple sandwiches/burgers, a few appetizers and a half dozen mains.
I would return, just not for the cheese!
Average drinks/service. Cool decoration/vibe, great location.
Came here with my friend for drinks and dessert last Friday evening.
I had a whiskey sour and a cosmo after that (the latter was their drink special on Friday night for $6). They were decent, nothing out of the ordinary. She had a dark and stormy, tasted good but wasn't separated on presentation if you care about that kinda thing. Also had their flourless chocolate cake that came with a cream drizzle and house made chocolate ice cream...very decadent and heavy but so so good for a chocolate lover like me! My friend got crème brûlée, and the portion was quite large. Good value for desserts (~$10) and drinks were moderate prices (10-14$).
Overall good experience!
Love it - lots of choices on the menu and I'm definitely going back to try more of their food. Everything I ate and drank was amazing! Awesome place. Great atmosphere.
We put our names in at El Camino down the street and our wait to get a table there was 2 hours, so we thought we'd stop by The Waverley just for a drink. We saw the menu and ended up staying. I had the Pineapple Daquiri which was pretty awful. Ordered the steak and fries. Delicious steak and a nice large bowl of salty fries along with a tasty aioli sauce. The waiter was friendly, cute, and helpful with suggestions for the others in our group. Would certainly come again
We went to the Waverley yesterday for some drinks and snacks between a wedding ceremony and reception and the atmosphere was very nice. Was a little disappointed when we ordered the feature nacho and literally got a nacho plate with 14 nachos on it. We thought maybe it was a cheap afternoon snack that must be less expensive because it is smaller, but when the bill came it was $14. So basically $1 per nacho. We would however go back because of the atmosphere, but would simply stick to drinks.
Came here and ordered the crispy skin arctic char, and bread of the day. The bread was fresh and toasted focaccia, with a lemon butter, and drizzled with oil.
The main course was a decent sized portion served with spaghetti squash, crispy kale, and pumpkin seeds. Everything was pretty good, though nothing was exceptional. Some bites of the squash were scaldingly hot while others were just a little warm. This took me by surprise. Kintamanate experienced the same thing with his carbonara dish.
I also tried their paradise lost cocktail, and found it had an overpowering taste of anise, and was quite bitter.
The service was okay, except early on the water refills seemed sparse, and my cocktail only arrived with the main course.
Overall, not bad. I left satisfied. And everything I ate was decent. I don't think I'd specifically go back, but it is worth a shot.
First time coming for lunch/brunch. Great atmosphere and service. We were quickly greeted at the door and got to choose a seat near one of the big open windows. The staff were very friendly/helpful and the food was fantastic! We will be recommending to friends, and we will definitely be back in the future.
I was here the other week with a few friends for a quick dinner and was pleasantly surprised! Atmosphere was pretty decent, and I was a big fan of the food. I got a great burger cooked a perfect medium. We also had the lamb tartare and kale salad which were both on point. Only complaint is the beer selection - clearly a Labatt sponsored bar. Get some of our great local beers on tap! I would definitely go back for a bite, but being a beer drinker we took off for some pints next door after dinner.
