Hi,
Have been driving in from Almonte to the Rideau on Eagleson for nearly 3 years now. Why? Because the food is constantly good. Particularly delicious is their won-ton soup (better than anywhere I've eaten on Somerset) and also their beef with Chinese greens. We've gotten to know the staff and as a regular customers, get treated extremely well. As for having to service such a large sitting area, the staff handles serving and cleaning up very efficiently.
The decor is no great shakes, but somewhat enduring-who else would still keep pictures up of Steven Harper?
Loyal indeed as we are to a good eating place!
Excellent place for Chinese food in Kanata. I've been now and then with my family, as an occasional treat, and last time we went earlier this month, it was great. All dishes satisfy, good generous portions, fresh, tasty, and we were given prompt and courteous service. The ambiance may be kind of bland, nothing elaborate in terms of decoration compared to the places on Somerset...but that didn't matter to us.
Best Chinese restaurant I've found in Kanata so far. Nothing fancy, just tasty food and good sized portions. A big takeout order was ready in 20 mins.
Delicious!. The food is excellent - service is 50/50. Fortunately, I do take-out more than eat-in. Fantastic price!! Highly recommended.
Good service good food. I dont have a problem with the service, they are friendly if you know anything about personalities.
Yummy. One of many good options for Chinese food in the West End. I'm not sure why I don't go there more often, since it's in my neighbourhood. Venue is kind of small, and as far as I know there aren't too many unique dishes. I do enjoy their black bean noodles though, that's probably my favourite dish. Had a tofu/vegetarian takeout from them today - could've been a bit more saucy but it was just takeout so I can't complain. Will be coming back.
Great place!. This is a great place for Chinese food, especially in the far West end. Much better than Fortune Express. The service is what you can expect from a Chinese restaurant: sub-par. The food, however, is very good. They give you a good portion and the price is roughly the same as Chinatown places. Their food is not over oily like other places and the quality will have you coming out satisfied.
Your basic suburban Chinese food.. Ordered dinner for 4. Food was fresh, and when promised.
The food here is great - lucky to have such good Chinese nearby. The ginger beef is to die for.
The environment and service weren't really good, but the food was great. We had the dinner for two, which would've been surficient for 4 people. The prices were cheap too.
Last few orders have been.... Things have improved (nothing missing from orders) so I'm going to recommend it again
Despite the rather mediocre food, I loved the atmosphere at Shabu-Shabu and would definitely return.
