We love this restaurant. We come for breakfast every weekend. The service is incredible; the servers are always very considerate of our young daughter. It's such a cozy, friendly spot. The food is dependably good and made well. Love it here and we will keep coming back.

What is there to say.....if you're looking for good food, good prices, and really friendly staff, stop in to Carlingwood Restaurant. This is my go-to place for a club sandwich with fries n gravy sooooo yummy. My wife absolutely loves the souvlaki plate, always fresh and full of flavor.

Staff member hard of hearing and I had to ask for everything twice and repeat my self! I know there are many seniors coming here but come-on start some real active listening!<br/>Will not be rushing back as the waitress came me the impression there is a 20 minute dining time limit after rudely asking me how I want to pay while still enjoying my coffee and reading my paper! Geesh!<br/>The front staff also is a little slow for receipts, the cash register kind, so I may be re-reimbursed from my company!<br/>Time 10:20 am March 10th, 2016 Served by Najwa?????

Horrible food!. We had fish & chips and a hot hamburger. The fish wasn't fresh, dipped in batter. It was frozen out-of-the-box fish. The burger was processed. We were expecting a "home cooked" style meal. Very disappointing. They spent good money renovating the restaurant. It's a shame they are serving previously frozen food instead of fresh. You're better off saving your money and going to the food court.

Eggs Benedict -The Best. Sometime over a year ago I had my first eggs Benedict at the above restaurant and several since. I had never had one better - anywhere. Since then I have travelled extensively and when I have breakfast on such travels I always order eggs Benedict to see if anyone makes a better one. NO ONE HAS in other parts of Canada, U.S. or on my one and only sea cruise ship. Recently while having a mid-day breakfast at a trendy and popular cafe a short hop and a jump from Buckingham Palace I ordered eggs Benedict - eggs from organically farmed and free range chickens they were proud to say. Again eggs Benedict from Carlingwood Family Restaurant stood out as the winner.

My bf and I use to go to this restaurant a lot before it got renovated. At that time the food was good..and the service with the wait(er/ress) was excellent! They would always check up in us to see how we were doing..and if our glasses were empty they would refill it without us waiting to ask for more drinks. But this experience today! July 4,2014- it was ridiculous..the waitress we had was walking around as if she was LAZY! It took 15mins to get our drink. we got our food at a decent wait time- so no complaints there. But by that time my drink was already done. The waitress were walking back and forth our table -5x- and they saw the empty glasses! The coleslaw we had was horrible! It was soggy cabbage in vinegar -DISGUSTING!!- they didnt even come up to see if the food was good or anything even though they kept eyeing our table..by the time I was done my food I asked for more water and the waitress rolled her eyes! Wtf?! So when I paid I gave no tip cause I think she didnt deserve it..and when she saw it she just threw my receipt on the table. Never going back! Its not worth it!

Great Smoked Meat. The new décor is a MAJOR improvement. My smoked meat and my wife's chicken dish were both very good. In fact, most times I have visited this restaurant, no matter what I ordered was good - not fabulous just plain good. Only criticism is the overly vinegary coleslaw. Would be nice if they offered a nice creamy coleslaw.

Before the reno this was by far one of my fav casual places to go on a Sunday for lunch. I've been going here since I was a small child! After the renovations it is just so different! We had to wait 40+ minutes for 2 clubs with fries. Usually it comes within 20 or less mins. The seating was so uncomfortable, i felt shoved up against a half size wall and the table was SO small. We barely fit! The service was bad as well. 35 mins after we ordered she finally came back to our table to tell us that the kitchen had a "mishap" and our food would be coming shortly. This was about 2 months ago and I haven't been back since & I don't plan on returning any time soon.

I had a great dinner and wonderful experience when I took my husband and two year old daughter out for dinner. The food was fantastic. Our server was attentive and very pleasant. She was great with kids too, my daughter loved her! We will definitely be back.

Food And Service Not As Good Since Reno. To be fair, we went the grand re-opening day. We were regular customers before the reno, now we're a bit weary. <br/><br/>The good - the young blond hostess was friendly as always and remembered us. The restaurant does look much nicer too.<br/><br/>The bad - the waitress was slow and unhelpful, forgot to take our drink order and wouldn't let me get my usual (I think she's new - our usual waitresses are the mature greek ladies).<br/>I was no longer allowed to order a greek salad with my burger without paying an extra $5 (in the past have had no issues at all).<br/>Food took a very long time to prepare (both burger and fries..)<br/>Fries had no taste and were unsalted.<br/><br/>We're hoping that the bad experience was because of re-opening after being closed so long for renos - maybe they were out of practice. Will try one more time and hope for the best. This used to be our favorite casual restaurant pre-reno.

Improvements are working. This restaurant improved it's atmosphere 100% by the renos. Found the new young Hostess at the entrance extremely welcoming and friendly and staff excellent. Now to invest in a few good chefs, using more fresh ingredients and less short order cafeteria food, this restaurant would become a first rate Ottawa attraction. Pizza's are good though. :) It has an excellent location.

Better not be in a hurry...over cooked, overpriced, and brutal customer service. Don't waste your money or time. <br/>They spent money on renovations but apparently hired dishwashers to cook your food...cheeze whiz in the omelette's a nice touch. LoL
