Great Place!!. I've gone two weeks in a row with my boyfriend and we've had an amazing time. We both work in the industry, and can often be very over critical of restaurants. However, we don't have a bad thing to say. The wine and food are delicious, they have a nice comfortable atmosphere and the service is excellent!
We will be returning soon with a few friends for a nice evening of sipping wine and munching on fantastic small plates!
Pleasantly Pleasing. I really loved the atmosphere inside this place; very laid back and chill, intimate - great for a date or a casual evening with friends. If you're into tapas, this place offers a small but excellent tasting selection. The prices are quite reasonable for the amount of food you receive. The staff were very friendly and attentive. My only wish would be for a greater beer selection. Will definitely return!
Fabulous food. Great and fast service. Food with a twist. Not your ordinary tapas food. Classic meets eclectic.
We couldn't get into the public house so we thought we'd give this place a try. It was pretty quiet for a Saturday night but we were pleasantly surprised with he food and service. We shared 4 tapas and had some wine and our bill was quite low. Great little place that I hope stays open.
Oh people sometimes annoy me. Especially overly critical, self-professed foodies. Stop taking yourself so seriously. I have never in my life come across a tapas bar and thought 'Now, here is a place to stuff my face!' My usual expectation of a tapas bar is well-priced selection of fun, desirable dishes, good wines and possibly a few good beer choices as my husband is a beer drinker. I visited the place with a bunch of friends for Friday night drinks and we loved it for all of the reasons above. And good prosseco as well!! We sampled the wines and the tapas, chatted the night away and were pleasantly surprised at the crowd that ensued after 10-11pm. Service was good and attentive - just enough detail. Deejay spun some really great tunes - GOOD stuff - not this new mumbo jumbo and honestly we stayed until about 1am. Few of my fellow diners had coffee before leaving - and it was quite fresh and good. Overall - would definitely recommend and go back.
Basically my favourite spot for a drink in Ottawa... Friendly staff, great bartenders and the food changes so often there is always something exciting to try. Great place to relax. Nothing but good times...
Very friendly staff; informal atmosphere; fun tapas foods to choose from. I wish this were at my end of town, I would go often to chill with friends and a glass of wine. I suggest you give it a try! I'll go back
Nice place, ok food. I enjoyed the complimentary cinnamon dusted popcorn, and the gazpacho was perfectly seasoned and very refreshing. However, the duck breast and cherry plate was unmemorable. The "flaked trout and avocado" is actually a lunch-style wrap with trout, cream cheese, cucumber (I think there was avocado too but hard to taste with all the cream cheese). It wasn't bad, but it was very out of place - something you'd get at a sandwich shop and could make better at home. I'll go back but not at the top of my list.
Never going back. We had visited 10Fourteen before and it was always ok. Stop in for a glass of wine (good selection however no tasting notes), ok service however not a large food menu but enough if we just wanted a snack.
This time was on a Wednesday night and I got a headache from the amount of screaming from the table next to us and drunk chicks at the bar. The one bartender was chatting up a homeless guy that wandered off the street - it was surreal but mostly a headache. My ears were ringing after a left. Not a relaxing, let's go chill and have a glass of wine that I was expecting. Next time we will head to Fourth Avenue as this place is terrible and I guess is set up for people who can't respect those around them and terrible acoustics. I am getting a headache just writing this review.
GEM!. Friendly and welcoming local hangout with good wine selection, Granville and Mill st seasonal on tap. Pop corn to die for and an ever changing menu. The Chef is not afraid to try something new.
Prices are on par with the neighbours.
10Fourteen is AOkay!. I have been frequenting 10Fourteen since day one, and will definitely continue to do so. They have excellent beers on tap (right now they've got the Mill Street Vanilla Porter - Awesome), a great (and inexpensive) wine menu, and an always changing food menu to keep things interesting.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff is laid back but professional and the complimentary popcorn is to die for!
I've been there on a girls' night, a date night with my husband, and with a co-ed group and each time I've enjoyed everything about it!
Definitely a place to check out!
10Fourteen a hit!. Just returned from a fantastic evening at 10Fourteen. Didn't know about it, and so glad we found it! Sampled close to everything on the menu with our party. Everything was fresh, flavorful and well-presented. Hummus was best I've had, and the buttered cod on baguette was to die for. Service was great. Highly recommend.
Amazing! So happy me and my 3 gfs checked this place out. The minute we walked in the ambiance was terrific. The place was packed!!! We had to wait about 5 minutes for a table to open up. No big deal. When we sat we were given popcorn!! It was so tasty! The wine prices were so reasonable. We ordered our first bottle and the hummus. It was delicious. Then we had 2 cheeses and shared the salmon. Again we loved it. We ended up ordering a second bottle of wine and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Definately coming back. Well done.
Totally underrated place. Came across this place by accident and had a great night. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, the drinks were creative a delicious (they have one mixed drink that uses cucumber juice - it's a must try), and they serve Granville Island Brewery on tap. Brilliant.
This is my new top small plate restaurant in Ottawa.
Great Food, Nice Location. We dropped in during a typical Ottawa blizzard and were very happy we did. The interior is surprisingly large and spacious. We had the soup, some salads and meats and cheese. We basically tried a little of everything. The food was fantastic, the squash soup was probably my favourite but the bison Reuben and roast beef were a really close second. The service was a nice unhurried approach that some might find slow but we kind of appreciated. The only negative I can say is I was a little underwhelmed with the cheese and cold meat selection but the warm dishes were so good I didn't really care. We had 7 tapas and 2 drinks each and got out under $100 and felt full.Would go back again for sure.
