I've been to many different sushi restaurants in many different cities. Tokyo sushi is by far the best I've ever had. I go every time I visit Ottawa.
Some of the best sushi in town. Small place. Very cozy. Very friendly. I usually order take out here. Made within 15-20 minutes.
Seaweed salad is great. The veggie ace rolls... OMG my fave. Mmm mmm. I really want some now just thinking about it.
Second-favourite sushi place in Ottawa. Ingredients are fresh and delicious. As noted by others, very limited seating, however. The sushi pizza is also overpriced.
Great lunch spot. Quick for take out on lunch hour. Average prices and taste. A reliable choice in downtown area. Would go again if I were in the area.
Cute place great service. Got greeted with super friendly service love the decor. Sushi was not ground breaking but getting tempura bits in my california rolls was a nice addition. Would go back for sure.
Have been going here for two years and still think it's the best sushi in Ottawa. Always fresh and delicious. Be warned that it's very small if you want to eat in. You can always call your order in for take out.
Fresh. A colleague and I went to lunch at Tokyo Sushi today for the first time. It's definitely small so like the reviews say, call to reserve a table. We enjoyed a selection of the rolls, my favourite was the spicy tuna. We also tried the tempura sushi ball, very good but really filling. The bill was really reasonable - I would go back again!
Excellent, small, friendly. It is on our sushi rotation list!
It's a sad day when your favorite sushi places serves you crappy sushi... There was avocado skin in almost all of my rolls. And, at first, the server told me I couldn't have a veggie combo because it isn't lunch... Never had a problem ordering the veggie combo before. I'm horribly disappointed.
Heaven.. dropped in with a friend, I was warned how small the dining area was.. yup.. but wow.. we ended up ordering 6 rolls between only 2.. yup and so spoiled.. our faves Ace and Volcano rolls..
Best Sushi Around. I like Capital Tokyo Sushi a lot. The decor is simple, the location is odd, but the food is phenomenal. The maki are very, very fresh and the other in-house dishes are great too. Occasionally some of the rolls are not available because they've run out of one or more ingredients - others might complain, but freshness is paramount in sushi, and I'm OK with that.
The 11.95$ lunch specials that attract an army of hungry bureaucrats every day around 12, so if you're thinking about lunch, get there early. There's a goofy sushi pizza but I haven't tried that.
Also, try the Ottawa Roll - locally inspired!
In a word: yum.
PS - I don't get what 'Nathan B' was talking about - this sushi joint is legit.
Awesome, cheap sushi. This place is so good and inexpensive. They are one of the rare take out place where they actually serve you decent size sashimi and always fresh. A few tables inside but perfect, quick lunch option.
My favorite!. A must try! The quality at this place is as good as Wasabi in the market. In fact, last time I went to Wasabi, I didn't like it at all. I don't want to bash anyone...just saying that you should try this place!
Spicy Tuna. ... in Ottawa,
I just moved from Vegas, and was worried that I would never taste decent Tuna again. Well this little stop is close to home, and although it's better for take-out than ambiance, the Sushi says it all.
