This is my favourite place to go on a weekend morning for a sit down breakfast. It's cozy, smells amazing and, although I'm a bit biased because I've been coming here for years, I love the atmosphere and is one of my favourite places in the city.

The service can sometimes be a bit slow, so I never go when I'm in a rush, which is why weekend mornings although busy are my favourite time to come. I haven't had a bagel I don't like, they're always fresh in the morning (I can't speak for evenings, though I'd expect some bagels to get a bit stale since they're sitting out in the open all day if they aren't bought).

Cadman's is something we splurge on a bit - we usually buy a dozen bagels for the next week while we're here. We try and combine chocolate chip + something else, but often we end up getting a dozen only chocolate chip bagels. Other favourites: lemon cranberry, everything bagel, onion or garlic bagels. Even the plain ones are fantastic though and i'd go home with a dozen of those. One thing I wish they did was cut bagels when you buy a dozen or so to take home, since they can be difficult to cut yourself if you don't have a bagel cutter. I just use a kitchen knife which works fine, but I'd recommend cutting them all as soon as you get home because as they get older they do get harder which makes them more difficult to cut. We split them half and half in the freezer bags they provide and keep 6 out on the counter and 6 in the freezer for later in the week.

I'd recommend just about anything on the menu, but my favourites include: the Breakfast Bagel (egg, bacon, cheddar + mayo), the Turkey Bagel (turkey, lettuce, tomato, mayo, olives + pickle on the side) and finally a chocolate chip bagel with plain or blueberry cream cheese.

Obviously I am a huge fan of Cadman's (as well as when they were Kettleman's) and will keep coming back until they close.

We took longer to reach Ottawa because Ben had to take a short nap half way, :-). Driving long distance can be tiring. We met up with Hao & Xue at Kettleman’s Bagel Co. near their home. Ben did some research on where to eat in Ottawa and Kettleman’s Bagel came up as the best bagel shop in Ottawa.

The quality of the food at this location is fantastic! I go here daily and I am always greeted by the friendly staff and my bagels always taste fresh and delicious! Great place for montreal style bagels!!

Oven Roasted Chicken Bagel Sandwich is SOOOO Good!. The oven roast chicken on a toasted bagel is our go to lunch if we are near Kettleman's on Carling at Woodroffe Avenue. On an all dressed bagel, of course. It is such a meaty thick piece of roast chicken and then the dressing that mixes in with the shredded lettuce, tomato and red peppers. I just had one and describing this one is making me drool again! The bagels come fresh out of the wood-burning oven. And we usually take a dozen sesame home to tuck in the freezer.
