Love love love this place!! I’ve been here several times; and it never fails to please me! Their watermelon slush juice is just DELICIOUS! If you’ve had Egyptian watermelon juice and know what real it tastes like - this is a replica! Their bubble tea is one of the best in ottawa.... haven’t tried their desserts though
I went to the newly re-opened Byward Market location to try the bubble waffles which are filled with ice cream and various toppings. I tried the matcha bubble waffle which was massive and the perfect treat for summer.
I really like their slushes. Ever since I've been coming here, they've never had the hibiscus flavour. I don't even know why they keep it on the menu since they never have it. Whenever I'm in Chinatown, I grab a bubble tea here.
MY SWEET TEA: Byward Market Location
I must say that I haven't had bubble tea this well-made and delicious in a while! Customer service was great, options were endless. I ordered a mango flavoured sherbet bubble tea with tapioca pearls. Everything was very tasty, especially the tapioca pearls! Also got a raspberry macaroon (for $2.25, kind of pricey). The space is large with an area upstairs as well, however there isn't a lot of seating, and only one table (which was taken) with an outlet. Also the place was a little warm, temperature wise.
All in all, my bubble tea craving was definitely satisfied, would recommend to a friend :).
Its not the best I have ever had, but far superior than the other bubble tea places I have ever been to in Ottawa! The sweet tea with passionfruit flavor and lychee jellies was 4.50. Wish there were more jellies/ tapioca added, but flavor was decent. Varied menu of drinks and free wifi.
Cool place to hang out on Somerset for a late night. For starters, there are board games! One note I should say is that it's a bit small in there, so it may be packed on busier days however. Very chic inside, modern decor, menus, and they serve different desserts, including macarons ($2.00/piece).
We ordered 2 slushes and 1 sherbert. I always order floral notes so I was pleased that they offered a Rose flavour, and it was exactly how I liked it. The bubbles were well-cooked, not too hard, great texture. My friend didn't like his green apple slush as much, I tasted it, and it does taste a lot like artificial apple candy. I don't find it unenjoyable personally. My brother ordered taro and it's typical of what you would find elsewhere.
This is my favourite cafe in Ottawa. Great pricing. The music is a little too loud though. The bubble tea is excellent and is fairly creative. I like the coconut sherbert.
Mostly great; solid competition to Bubblicity. I feel like a bit of a phony writing this review, but I'll do it anyway since I'm being positive. The reasons I feel phony are:
1) I only ever order the coconut sherbet. It is delicious, why would I switch it up?
2) I will complain about the noise. This makes me feel SUPERRRR old.
So now that we're done with this, I will complain about the noise. It's pretty noisy, full of university and highschool kids playing their "card games" and "board games" (I hear those are hip) and loudly exclaiming while they win the points and/or do the things. This is fine, since it's to be expected from a late-night joint on a Friday or Saturday night. But keep it in mind.
Some people have complained about the sushi. This is like going to a Dairy Queen and ordering ramen noodles. Just stick with the titular menu items, folks.
In conclusion, this place is good. The service is consistently friendly and generally speedy. Once or twice they were out of either soy milk or chai tea, but I'll forgive them.
Final rating: 7 out of 10 lichees with pearls
Best place to get bubble tea in Ottawa, the food is a plus. A good place for people to just relax without the feeling of having to rush out. The service is very good, and the servers are very friendly. They also have decks of cards available if you want to play with your friends. Their bubble tea is great, and is priced about the same as the other bubble tea places around Ottawa. The food is very good, and is very well priced. I highly recommend the condensed milk brick toast. Overall, if you are looking for a nice place to lay back and have a good time, MST is the place to go. The renovations that they have made to this place over the past few years are great, and the interior is very clean and modern. I recommend MST over other bubble tea places in Ottawa.
A regular hangout.. Getting bubbletea is like going for coffee - 80% of the time you spend there will be chatting, hanging out and catching up with friends. MST has got the drinks down, as well as a great area to just hang out. I like that they also have a variety of hot and cold drinks, for all seasons.
So-so. The place looked very nice. I went in with low expectations since there aren't many places in Ottawa. They did exceed my expectations but still wasn't as good as those in bigger cities like Toronto.
