Food was pretty good, though my cheese pie didn't have enough cheese. On the other hand, my friend's meat and cheese was perfect. They have a great selection of drinks, desserts and food with reasonable prices. The staff was quiet, but friendly. I wish they had more seating and the "cash only" policy is definitely sketchy.
The king of pies (Lebanese meat pies, that is).
Great bakery with a range of meat, cheese and veggie pies. All are warmed up in their oven and served piping hot. Personal favourites include the meat/cheese and spinach/cheese versions. The zaatar has a nice spice mix but some may find it too thick/doughy.
Everything is within CAD 3.50 and makes a cheap/tasty lunch paired with a bottle of juice from their vast beverage cabinet. Go adventurous and try something different (pineapple or mango juice, or a bottle of jellab with hints of date and honey).
The older gent in the cashier is very chatty and helpful: feel free to ask for suggestions (if he's not too busy).
All in all, a great experience and hope they open more branches (or franchises) in future.
Very good,. Their pies are awesome & very inexpensive. You should definitely try it...
Good snack. Dropped in last night for the first time. The staff was very nice, the pies (we had meat and cheese) were tasty, and the baklava were just like I like them: well stuffed and moist with honey.
Buy extra & have them later!!. When I visit, I purchase enough for a couple of days worth. Just reheat in the microwave & make sure you leave the parchment paper wrapper on. DELICIOUS!!!
I finally agreed to try my meat & cheese pie with "lemon & spices" and it's not as spicy as you may think. If you aren't sure, ask them to put a little bit of lemon & spices on and taste it - you'll be hooked!!
I've tried: meat & cheese (my favourite), meat, cheese, spinach, spinach & cheese, yogurt & olive (my hubby's favourite) and zatar (it's a mix of spices - very interesting tasting and worth a try).
They've grown.... The place is a little bigger now - they've got a nut and baklava section, as well as an ice cream/gelato section.
The nuts are fresh, fresh, fresh!
The Lebanese pies are their usual awesomeness... Best in town!
Tasty "Meat & Cheese with Spice" Please!. DELICIOUS, crispy, flavourful meat, spinach, cream cheese & olive pies along with fresh Zaatar breads and Baklawa. You wanna EAT CHEAP? This is the place!
Two 'meat & cheese with spice" will set you back 4$ or less and they're really filling. My favourite is the spinach, but really...they're ALL GOOD! Friendly fast service as well and an ATM machine is on the premises.
Parking for the Aladdin sucks, and don't park at the neighboring Pizza Pizza! There are plenty of side streets to park on, right nearby.
Love this place - in terms of food and service! I used to drive all the way from Janata to get his pies (meat, cheese, spinach yummm).
He's always friendly and the prices are incredible!
My holy sweet hairpins! I love love their delicate and delicious pies!
Amazing! I can't get enough of these cheese and zaatar and meat pies. Yummm!
My favorite!. I love Aladdins, both the Carling and St.Laurent locations. Meat & Cheese pies are my favorite food in the entire world and luckily I found a woman who loves them just as much (and maybe even more) as I do.
Price: The prices are great unless you eat a lot. If you eat a lot and buy 3 meat and cheese pies, it's about the same price as eating a meal anywhere else but trsut me, you'll be stuffed and it tastes better. If you eat a moderate amount, this will be a cheap meal for you.
Tips:
- If you buy a Cheese pie with extra cheese, you must eat it right away. Waiting for too long will make it dry out and it will be ass. Eat it right away when the bread is still crispy and soft and the cheese is all gooey.
- Meat & Cheese pies are for more delish with spice and lemon. One thing I love to do is take them home, fry up some mushrooms, put the pies in the oven to warm up and then fill them with the mushrooms. I then like to dunk the pies in warm alfredo or carbonara sauce
Staff: The staff is great, don't be afraid to talk to them. They can be shy at times but once you gain a rapport with them, they are the nicest people in the world. They know me even now when I have moved to Montreal. I get me parents to bring me down $30 in pies every time they visit and the staff knows my parents are getting these pies for me, haha.
Overall, my favorite thing in the world, 10/10.
Cheap, quick and yummy!. I wouldn't consider this place a restaurant, since half of it is a convenience store. But if you're hungry and on the go, this place is great!
The meat pies are excellent! I always have the meat and cheese ones but they have several options.
It's close to a school so avoid going during lunch time, because it gets crowded.
Prices are very reasonable and the service is efficient. The parking lot is pretty small though, so it can get hard to get out of there when it's busy.
If you're looking to grab a quick and delicious bite, this is the place to go!
The meat and cheese pie is the best. It's affordable too, at $2.50 each. It's a small place located in a convenience store but it's worth trying because it's fresh and tastes great.
