This is our favourite Keg to go to. It has a nice ambience and the staff are efficient and friendly. Have been told 45 minute wait to get in, but it's always a lot sooner than that. You must save room for a Billy Minor Pie!!
The food was delicious and the service excellent as was the ambiance. The whole experience was exceptional in large part to the great service we received from our server, Eddy L. He paid just as much attention to our grandchildren as to the adults. Thank you Eddy.
This is the place for a great steak, always cooked correctly to specification. Love all the sides options. Beware they don't take Saturday evening reservations and the wait is about an hour.
Haven't been to the Keg in five years due to a previous string of bad experiences, glad to say that we had a lovely time there tonight.
We sat out on the patio, which has a covered roof and glass walls, so is sheltered, but faces NW so has sun till sun set. There was a lovely breeze and few other people so we had a great atmosphere for our date.
The service was great from the start and we were never lacking anything. Timing was great too, and the evening passed smoothly. Our server even brought some bearnaise sauce out for me to try before deciding whether or not to get the steak Oscar 👌.
Since it was just the two of us we skipped the appetizer and went straight to the mains, knowing we would have plenty of food. The hot bread they bring out to start is chewy on top, crunchy on the bottom, and soft in the middle. Like baguette baked in squares and cut in four. He couldn't stop reaching for more lol. Both our steaks were delicious. He had the steak (6oz) and lobster, which came with two small tails that were succulent, and had plenty of meat (3oz each). The steak was medium well instead of medium but disappeared in record time. Baked potato with sour cream, chives and bacon was gone before I could try any 😪. I ordered the Cajun tenderloin. The medallions are about 5oz total and mine were cooked perfectly. Salty but not unpleasant. Good salty. Comes with shrimp in a simple chunky tomato sauce, flavored with Cajun seasoning. Sauce was bland and the shrimp were over cooked, but I do like things spicy so think it was just personal taste thing with the sauce. The shrimp. Well there were two large shrimp and many small, tailless ones. They were cooked till the larger ones were ready, but that meant the small ones were overdone. Too bad. The wedge salad was a bright note with all ingredients fresh and just enough dressing to not overpower the iceberg diced tomatoes and bacon.
The Caesar was keg sized but no whack, tasted like ice cubes had melted a bit and watered it down. Gin and soda was better.
He had a 9 oz glass of wine and it was served in a carafe so you could pour it into the glass as desired. Nice touch.
Dessert menu was short and sweet, and we opted for the mini versions of their creme brule and brownie a la mode. Both scrumptious. Couldn't finish the brownie so glad I got the mini for my wallets sake.
We would go again.
$165 for two with drinks and tip.
The atmosphere and service is excellent. The food is great. I've been here a couple of times. I usually order their fillet mignon, medium and it tastes lovely and always cooked to perfection. Their twice baked potato is definitely something to try on the side. I've also had their ahi tuna tacos that were surprisingly really good! My friends have tried their burger as well, and they always recommend it. Recommend this place for a nice dinner
This is our go to place for a good steak. It's got a great atmosphere on both the bar and restaurant side, romantic ambient lighting, smooth tunes and clean and spacious bathrooms (women love that!) Everyone there is always having a nice time- good vibes. They also seem to only hire competent and friendly servers. We are always impressed with the service! Now the food! Warm and tender bread to start, fresh and generous salads and steak, steak, steak! Our steaks are always cooked to our liking (medium rare of course!) and always well seasoned. The garlic mashed and twice baked potato are both winners. Overall, the Keg is a very safe bet for a date night or when you just want steak done right! Love it.
Yes a chain but how great to always be happy with the steaks! Lobster tails too. Apps can be skipped and only the Billy for dessert. Reliable meat. Comfy seats and wines ok but they need more variety.
Consistently top-notch service and food. Steak is always fantastic and cooked perfectly. Been going here for years and (for steak) I can't think of anywhere else I'd prefer to go.
Delicious food, great service, unique architecture. Despite my natural aversion to franchises, this location distinguished itself by offering an excellent dining experience. Service was courteous and very prompt throughout, with just the right amount of interaction -- that sweet spot between being rudely ignored and having a server try to become your best new buddy. We received one of the less impressive seats in the house, a small table for two tucked in a corner near the kitchen entrance, but the ambiance was still fine. I'm sure if we'd had reservations, this wouldn't have been an issue. The food was all delicious, especially my teriyaki steak and french onion soup. The twice baked potatoes are also an easy win. The only slight weak point was the caesar salad, which despite shaved parmigiano reggiano and tasty croutons, did not rise to the level of the other dishes we enjoyed. Overall I can heartily recommend The Keg on Hunt Club for diners seeking a reliable, high(ish)-end steak house in a neighbourhood with few comparable options. Much like The Keg Manor in Westboro, this location's interesting architecture was also a bonus.
