Aside from high quality baked goods, the French Baker also provides exceptional customer service and outstanding consistency. Many eateries struggle with providing consistent products but the French Baker has been providing me with scrumptious pastries ever since I began purchasing their goods. The entire PTA at my daughter's school absolutely loves the chocolate croissants at every meeting, as do the executive boards of the charitable organizations that I manage. For many years of delicious food, I would recommend this establishment to anyone with discriminating taste; you will not be disappointed!

Exquisite quality, excellent service, and elegant taste. The French Baker in the Glebe left a lasting positive impression that makes me want to come back again and again. Stepping in, I was warmly welcomed into a beautiful ambiance filled with the highest quality. The staff greeted me and made me feel instantly welcome while left with the ease of enjoying all the colours and tantalizing fragrances first. Everything looked so delicious I wanted to enjoy everything! When I was ready, the staff answered my questions with care and expertise. They advised me in a way that really helped to navigate all the amazing choices. Their expert help served me so well: the buttery croissant left me feeling so satisfied and happy, while it is the "success" that tasted so exquisite it made me feel like I was treated like a Queen in Paris while for amazing value. Seated on the high stools overlooking the Glebe while reading my favourite magazines and enjoying my treats and listening to other customers spread their laughter left an amazing impression that makes me want to come back again and again. I strongly recommend The French Baker for anyone who wants to treat themselves and treat their special someones to make them feel like the treasures they are!

I think those who didn't enjoy this bakery and who have written very poor reviews about it, do not understand what a proper French - as in FRANCE - bakery is.

Excellent FRENCH bakery, but indeed, very poor French Canadian bakery - thank god!

Good coffee and cute atmosphere, but very $$. I had a raisin brioche with an espresso. I was happy with my order, but it was quite expensive. The place is cute, but I can see why the other reviews are so bad. The guy at the counter is a tad strange and cold. I didn't try the croissant.. but now I am curious!

A little piece of France in the Glebe. Great coffee and classic French baked goods - including yummy brioche, wonderful baguettes, splendid 9-grain bread, and the best buttery croissants in the city.

Seating is a bit cramped with spartan chairs, but there's glorious sunlight pouring in through the front window.

The fellow behind the counter is very friendly and cheerful - a little bit of sunshine, no matter what the weather is outside.

If you are looking for a croissant or chocolate croissant, this is the place for you. They serve Illy type of coffee which is great and the space is painted a winter white with some black accents around the space creating a clean feeling. They have a little bar seating area at the window which is nice when the window is open in the warmer months.

I've been coming here for years. And there are pros and cons. There isn't enough chairs when it's busy. However their coffee and croissants make up for that in spades. The atmosphere is much better under new management and all the girls are very friendly. The place could use a fresh coat of paint but it is a well kept secret of the glebe!

Great coffee, great bread! Their granola is delicious and I cannot recommend more the ham and cheese croissant!
