Love the burger, except for the bun a little too toasted. Poutine was delicious

Nothing special about this burger place. Too expensive for what you get. I didn't like the beef patty, too fatty and didn't seem fresh. I recommend either walking across to A&W and getting something cheaper but tastier or going somewhere else outside the mall.

Paid nearly 20 dollars and waited nearly 15 minutes on my lunch break for an awful burger, and half a poutine, as i asked the employee if they are not allowed to fill the container to the proper amount i got a shrug and told to have a nice day. Awful customer service and WILL never buy food from here again and warn everyone i know and work with in the mall to not eat here again. Very disappointed with my first and last visit to this location.

I ordered 2 chicken sandwiches I paid $ 27 something. Not even worth a penny. I waited nearly 20 minutes my 2 sandwiches was not ready. The picture looked like breaded chicken and when I got it, it was just a piece of chicken with no seasoning not cooked properly and it taste horrible. After 20 mint of eating I got sick. I will never buy anything from there. customer service was good but the food was horrible. For that money I wasted there I could of get a combo for 2 people other places. Very expensive for what you get.

This cost $18.90. It's a burger with a slice of cheese, ketchup, mustard and relish. Fries, which were super salty. A can of pop. Seriously.

The veggie burger with fries was good in taste! I was surprised. I would order again!

Fresh burgers are always a treat! I don't know why but grabbing one of these burgers feels like I'm eating a healthier burger compared to McD's/KingBurger/etc. It might be all in my head though, it just *feels* healthier. Cheers

Tried this place for the first time today and had their signature burger. It was pretty good considering its fast food but it's definitely on the pricey side. Quality is similar or a small step up from A&W. I'd recommend it if you're downtown and craving a burger. Skip the regular fries though and maybe get the sweet potato ones.

Although I admittedly haven't tried the burgers here, the poutine is quite good is a few dollars cheaper. I had the Spicy Poutine - which, to my standards is not particularly spicy, however they do add a chipotle mayo which gives it a bit of a kick. It is combined with cheese curds, gravy and caramelized onion. I'm not sure I agree with the combination, but the poutine itself is quite decent. Cheese curds melt just perfectly and it's  large enough portion that you can get full on a premium poutine. Not the best I've ever had, but not terrible.

At first I was skeptical I didn't expect it to be so good ! I got the Baja vegetarian burger it was delicious with the chipotle mayo, I also got onion rings wish was tasty as well. My only concern would be that they separate the vegetarian food from the non vegetarian. I recall seeing in the fryer pan where they fried the onion rings a piece of chicken and I didn't like that. As well as the patty section I hope that they do separate the vegetarian patties from the non vegetarian ( from the piece that they collect the patty in to the area where they grill it)

For a mall burger this place is pretty good, though it is on the pricier side. In my opinion it was worth every penny because of the food quality.<br/><br/>They cook your burger either medium rare or well done, right in front of you so you can see and smell the grilling happening. There's a huge selection of burger types with different toppings. I got the crazy burger or something, it had a bunch of toppings with barbeque sauce and jalapenos - I liked it! My SO got the spicy burger and he said he liked mine better. We both got a bacon poutine and it was high-sodium goodness, lol. I liked the poutine but I'd only order it again if I was really hungry.

So-so burgers, great rings!. I come here just for the onion rings. I am an onion ring addict. Having tried many different kinds, this is pretty good for mall food. The burgers aren't too much to write about. The few time's I've ordered them, they were quite dry. I will stick with the onion rings- they are delicious!

Disappointing. The burger was really dry, the bun was over-toasted so it was also dry. The onion rings looked OK but the first one was still frozen inside. The pop from the fountain was flat so I got a new drink that was also flat. I traded my frozen rings in for fries that were dry and hard.... I was really disappointed overall. It's too bad as I was looking for a great new burger place.

For a food court burger this was delicious!

Cheeseburger Combo. I really enjoyed my meal. Nice juicy, charbroiled burger, fresh toppings, fresh fries, great taste for fast food. A little on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for. A definite must try for burger fans!

Today was my second visit to Big Smoke Burger and this is my first review on Urbanspoon. I felt compelled to write this review to warn others of what to expect based on my experience today. My first visit about a month ago was pleasant and positive. The food seemed fresh and was tasty. That is the reason I decided to pay this restaurant a second visit today with my wife and kids and that's where things get very disappointing. I ordered the exact same thing I ordered my first visit, a Big Smoke burger and a large fries, with an extra side of onion rings. While standing in line waiting for my food I could see what the employee frying the fries was doing in front of me. There were some old fries in the tray beside the fryer (who knows how long they were sitting there getting cold) so instead of dumping them out he put them back in the fryer to heat them up! Disgusting and cheap! At $4 for some fries have the common decency to serve some fresh fries! I mentioned this to the manager who agreed that this was wrong and was not supposed to happen. But why is that my job to identify this? If I had not mentioned this I would have been given double fried crap fries! This is why I say disgusting and cheap! I do not mind paying whatever they charge for a product as long as I get a quality product. Above all that the fry guy didn't seem to care and did not even apologize while the manager mentioned to me that he was "in training". If this is what they do with the fries it makes me wonder what they do with everything else they serve? I do not think I will be visiting this place again and I would encourage people to think twice before they do as well!

One of the best in town. This isn't just good value, it's an excellent burger. The fact that they even ask you how you like it cooked is only the start. There's an organic option and lots of toppings to choose from.

Good burger, good fries, but not quite good enough to justify the price. The burgers keep getting smaller and smaller and smaller. Best mall burger by far.

Very delicious burger and poutine! The staff were also very kind and patient with me as I had never ordered here before and was unsure what to get. <br/>Burger was nice and juicy and cooked perfectly. I find a lot of places that have poutine are way too salty, but this one was te perfect combination! Hands down one of the best I have had. Will definitely be returning here.

Out of all the new burger places in town , this one beats them all hands down, it's in the new food court Rideau centre I ordered mine med rare do yourself a big favour and try it

I’m impressed. I believe Big Smoke Burger is a cut above what you would expect from a food court. Delicious juicy fresh burger and great fries. A little seasoning in the patties and some BACON… and this joint could very well put the rest of the food court out of business.

Friday August 1st at 11 A.M. saw the grand opening of Cadillac Fairview 's Rideau Centre Food Court.  I arrived at 11:20 after letting the festivities die down and the grand unveiling by Cadillac Fairview and Rideau Centre Mall big wigs die down.  I really didn't need to see any more marketing pomp & circumstance considering I'd already been to a preview of the food court for just that purpose on Wednesday . My first stop was Big Smoke Burger ( 50 Rideau Street, Ottawa ), where I joined the decent of line of customers averaging about 12 at any one time.  Yes, it was a decent length of line but it moved pretty steadily with only a few hiccups here and there.  These hiccups will be a theme for the rest of the visit and hopefully will be fixed over the coming days.
