Review The 3 Brewers - Ottawa

Nice place to go for drinks with friends. They have a good collection of beers brewed in house. Food is also good. We enjoyed our time there.

Amazing place for a quick bite and drinks. The beers on tap are always fresh and the servers very welcoming and gracious.

This place is a must visit, located in an quite yet hot place in kanata. The food and drink menu offers you bunch of variance to choose from. A numero uno in service and staff is extremely friendly and treats you with ease.

Excellent service.... Amazed with the service... Good food and best drinks.... The server sara was the best. She was helping, fast and served us with happiness. Thanks to everyone

A lovely patio in the heart of centrum. The food is consistent with the rest of the chain and the beer is as usual, quite tasty. Overall the staff was friendly and attentive and the food was very solid pub fare with a European twist. Above average experience and worth a trip.

Great food and ambiance. Good place to hangout with friends and family. The staffs are really nice too.

It was a beautiful sunny day in Kanata. After much deliberation we, as a group of four, decided to treat ourselves to dinner on a patio. What a great idea and 3 Brewers was going to be the place where we would make a memory together. Well, we now hope it’s a memory we can soon replace in the future perhaps? Only time will tell. We put our names down as there was a wait to be seated - understandably. Such an establishment on a Saturday night would warrant such delays. Many were enjoying their dinners so we were happy to wait. We were told twenty minutes. Very acceptable. We decided to take a walk around. After 20 minutes we started to head back to the restaurant. We weren’t surprised that we didn’t receive the call within the 20 minute suggested wait time. Clearly we saw they were busy so we gladly waited with patient expectation. Another ten minutes had passed and we decided to walk in and check on our status. We were pretty hungry by that point and just wanted to see how the evening was progressing. As we approached the hostess, we were met with a confused and somewhat concerned look on their face when we asked about the status of our table. It was a clear tell that we had been forgotten. She scrolled down the list with her pen and passed our name, then went back up as if to confirm that those in front of us were in fact already seated. Another tell. Much disappointment filled our hearts, and grumbles continued to echo in our stomachs. She quickly announced that she would get a table ready for us. We left a phone number when they took our names. Something tells me our waiting on their beck and call was all in vein. Perhaps our reminder was not the only one of the evening. No, it certainly was not. Two gentlemen came in after us in the same fashion, requesting an update on the status of their alleged seating arrangement. “It’s been a half hour and we were just wondering….” You can fill in the blanks. A repeat of our experience unfolded before our very eyes. It seems as if the false promises of a future dining experience were merely attempts to keep the busyness at bay. Perhaps it was also an understaffed establishment like many others. I wish not to cause grief with this review, I simply am making observations and relaying them in the the best way I know how. We were disappointed with the service and the food was average. Not what I was expecting from 3 Brewers as I’ve heard good things about them. 3 brewers? Maybe. You might be rolling the dice. But, like with everything else in life, our choices come with risks. Yours sincerely, The 3 Brewer Reviewer

Ordered steak and fries, ordered medium but came well done. It was way over cook and dry. My wife had the ribs and they were average. The fries were over cook and very crispy.<br/><br/>Go for the beer only.

I really enjoyed my experience here overall. The restaurant itself is beautiful with a lovely patio and rooftop patio and the service was pleasant but a bit slow and lacking experience. The menu is quite diverse and I actually think they might be better off paring it down a bit. Additionally, some items just seem overpriced for the kind of quality a restaurant like this produces. I enjoyed some of what I ate, but not all of it. The cheesecake trio really stood out, but some others miss the mark. Though the beer is good (nothing special but it each style hits the mark of what its supposed to be), the other cocktails are hit or miss. Overall, it's not bad, but not great either.

Last night, myself and 3 others ate here.  Atmosphere is great.  Drinks - driving so none of us drank beer.  Food, that is another story.  Calamari, dripping in grease.  Nachos, lacking cheese and other goodies, Onion Rings, again dripping in grease.  Ribs - so so.  I would go anywhere else for ribs next time.  Coleslaw, just disgusting.  I'm sorry, but I love good coleslaw with my ribs.  Its the only roughage on the plate.  Thought it was rancid, asked the server and she said she gets at least 3 complaints a day about it.  And said it is made daily.  I won't be back.  I'd rather eat anywhere else.  Cost almost 88.00 for 2 ppl. 1 rib/1 nacho/1 calamari.  2 cocktails.  Not worth it.

I have eaten at the restaurant in Montreal, but I just got around to visiting this one.<br/>It didn't disappoint. My dining partner had a brown beer and the chicken and waffles. I had the chicken pesto flat bread. Both dishes arrived quickly and were hot and fresh. Delicious. There was little left on either plate. <br/>My only criticism was that the restaurant didn't have Pepsi.

Had Lunch at the Centrum location today (march 3 2017) <br/>The beer was good but very expensive . The food well <br/>lets just say it took a long time to arrive. But was hot . I ordered <br/>the fish and chips . Lacking in the amount of chips . My son counted<br/>them there were 22 of them . The fish I love fish and if I hadn't been very <br/>hungry and taken so long to get I would have sent it back  The outside<br/>was so hard that it broke when trying to cut when you did get inside it<br/>was MUSH the fish was so  overcooked that you would be hard pressed to<br/>call it fish . The service was fair . She could have come back to see if<br/>everything was all right . The only time we saw her was to remove<br/>the plates and sell anther beer . My sons steak was asked to be rear <br/>and came well done enough said . The bill was70$ for a 5$ meal <br/>We will not return or recommend

We went to the Kanata Centrum location. I must admit that I had heard prior to going that the food was not that good but decided to give it a try anyway. Well I should have stayed away. I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger for $15.00 which included a small Caesar salad side. The burger bun was one of those cheap ones that is way too thick, falls apart as you bite into it and tasted stale. The meat patty , although hand pressed, was dry and pretty thin. I assume that the cook pressed all of the juices out of the patty with a spatula while cooking it. Not the way to cook a burger. The cheese was just an ordinary cheese slice thrown onto the patty. As the burger was cold, the cheese slice was not melted one iota. The bacon was cold as well. The Caesar salad was small and although the lettuce was relatively fresh, the dressing was the typical out-of-the bottle variety. I might chalk this up to just a problem with my burger (I was the only one to order one) but none of the other members of my group found their meals to be anything special either. Tasteless, not particularly hot, etc. We certainly will not be back! PS: servers were friendly.

I hate to write this, because I've generally had decent food here...but don't ever order the french onion soup. Tasted like someone chopped up a red onion, put the slices in a hot pan for a few minutes, threw them in a bowl of broth, tossed a piece of untoasted bread on top and sprinkled it with cheese. Disgusting. Instead of rich, flavourful carmelized onions... I got a bowl of raw ones. Not what I was hoping for, to say the least.

I don't go for the beer, as I find theirs a bit metallic. They usually have a Session that I like. <br/><br/>The Flamme Keuches are the best thing to eat. We have found a couple of other items we liked, but strangely, they keep changing the menu, and removing those items we liked. <br/><br/>

I had the fish and chip and it wasn't good. My son had the ribs and they as well were not good either. Very expensive for the quality and quantity you get. Do yourself a favour and chose some place other to eat. We will certainly never come back.
Jack.sparrow.nexus5
Raspberry beer was so bad we couldn't drink it. Bruschetta was supposed to be on flat bread but was more like a slab of pizza dough. Fish and chips was more batter than fish and it wasn't fully cooked.
MamaKat
Will not be back. Very nice service. Ok beer (Amber). Undercooked and tasteless mussels served with strange, stale bread slathered with garlic margarine!!! Ugh!!!

Heard from a friend that they had a lamb shank - my favorite at another local place. Had to try it, glad I did! Less salt and Guinness than I'm used to, but a generous portion, very flavourful, I loved it. We had the calamari appetizer - oh, so tender with a sweet spicy dip! My partner tried the 3Brewers Sausage and Sauerkraut - divine! They hava a very nice black IPA on right now, very nice. Staff were friendly and just attentive enough - I like my privacy. A very pleasant evening!

Flammekeuches. My "go to" meal. Simple but good.

Great hangout place to grab drinks and light food. I actually love this 3 brewers location. It's large and spacious enough that even on busy nights it's not usually too terribly long a wait for a table. In the summer they open up 2 levels of patios so there is even more room. The food is atypical of bar food - don't expect gourmet delicacies. I personally am not a fan of the flammekeuche, and certain appetizers, but I do enjoy the nachos, star platter, the sandwiches and any of the poutines. I personally don't like the beer, but needless to say I'm not much of a beer person. For alcoholic drinks I usually order sangria and today I tried a beer cocktail (beer mixed with liqeur). It had a beer-ish taste, but without the bitter aftertaste. The white peach is a good pick from that list. Always enjoy my experience here and have never ran into any problems.

I really wanted to like this place. The atmosphere is amazing and our waitress was great! Unfortunately the food was disgusting. My husband said the beer was decent.
Kellyandjerryswedding
Terrible food, good beer. I have been to 3 Brewers in Kanata a few times and the food has ranged from outright terrible to mediocre at best. Service can be slow and sketchy at times too. The only upside is their beer so it's a good place if you are only looking for to get drinks.
Melissahilchey
Disappointing. I wanted to love it.<br/>The space is beautiful and the menu well-rounded yet simple, but the service and food was poor.<br/>We ordered burgers for lunch and even scarfing it down (cold) as fast as 2 could, we were there 90+ minutes. To get a bill I had to put on my coat and start walking out.
Jennifer Potvin
Me and a group of friends really enjoyed 3 brewers. We had an assortment of food and no one had anything negative to say. Our sever was also very nice and helpful! And the sangria is amazing.
ARFoodie
Nice restaurant and patio, mediocre food. The restaurant and patio are nice, but the quality of the food is very mediocre. I ordered a salmon flammekueche and it was almost impossible to eat because the bread was baked too crispy and the salmon kept on sliding off.
Bruyererclogg
Haven't even been there yet, but.... I've heard through my two brothers and sister in laws that this place was terrible and not to reiterate all the negative comments below but they agree with these comments that are negative. I for one agree that a new establishment takes time to become hasty and good in respects to service, seating, refills etc... BUT, that said this is a chain and the owners should have been more careful in this and surprised to hear it is still lack luster full of lully gagers working there. Too bad because I was about to go, I'll wait until the angles start to praise this place.
Brat-la-cat
Only for beer lovers. I go to these places only because my husband is a beer lover. I don't drink, so I'm relegated to whatever they want to serve to kids and believe me, they're not fussy about it. The ginger ale I received tasted like watered down water.<br/>Our personality-challenged waiter looked as if he didn't really want to be there. A few pieces of Scotch tape may have pasted a smile on his face.<br/>I ordered the sausage and ham meal, minus the boiled potatoes. Boiled potatoes? Who eats those in a restaurant? Vegetables were surprisingly still a bit crisply. Ham was grilled and good. Sausages were meh, kinda more like bangers and mash than tasty German sausages. Sauerkraut wasn't tangy enough for my taste and was a real funny colour and texture at the bottom.<br/>My husband and brother enjoyed their beers.<br/>Atmosphere is too loud.
Bowzog
Glorious Beer!!. Just like the tittle says.......the beer was glorious. I had their amber ale, which was very good, and my buddy had their IPA, also a winner. As for the food.........meh.......nothing to get excited about. The beer's the main draw for me!
Abby_Mermie
Fine for a drink, but that is all. The beer was good, but the poutine did not have cheese curds!!! For me, this is pretty basic and grated cheddar is not acceptable. Overall, it just tasted meh. Will not return for food here again.

Okay beer, horrible food. I ordered the Star platter and the potatoes were burnt to the point that I could only get through half of them. service was good, but I got the wrong beer the first time. Not an issue. It was quickly resolved. Until the bill came. I noticed that I was charged for both beers (the one I ordered and mistake one). Again, quick resolution. <br/>In the end, between the poor food quality and the loud atmosphere I won't be coming back. Not worth it and I'm old enough to know that there are better restaurants out there. This isn't my first rodeo.

The 3 brewers is one of, if not the worst restaurant in all kanata. <br/>Food is pre made and I'm guaranteeing you this 100%. Servers are told to tell you it's made before dinner or lunch starts. ...it's not. It's made way before then, normally day before. (No wonder wraps are always soggy on the bottom)<br/><br/>Managers are all pretty much useless. Also, they make quite inappropriate comments to their servers on a regular basis. <br/><br/>Kitchen- will make a meal regardless if they have them proper ingredients or not. Ie. Louisiana BBQ flam. No BBQ sauce.. Oh well let's make it anyways and send it out to a table. <br/><br/>Also, some of the rudest staff I've ever come across. <br/><br/>Don't waste your hard earned money on 3 brewers. Go ANYWHERE else in centrum.
VanillaThrilla
Funny, I was cut off from drinks as well. I've been to this location many times with friends and colleagues. However, the last time I made an appearance I was with a friend that I hadn't seen in a long time. During dinner we had 2 pints and I was told I was drunk and the server said she would not serve me any more. I should mention that the two of us had cabbed over from my house so neither of us were driving anyway. I spoke to the manager and he said he didn't find me intoxicated but he could not force a server to serve me which is fine. He also said the server found a problem with us taking the seat before the table was completely wiped down. So, by my gathering I was cut off because the server was pissed off that she had to wipe the table while people were sitting at it. I should also mention she was a real !@#!$ the whole meal, scowling and almost hostile to the two of us. Almost like we shouldn't be there.<br/><br/>As for food, mediocre pub food. Nothing special. Do yourself a favour and go to Moxies, Jack Asstors, Crazy Horse. No need to waste money on people that don't realize we pay their pay cheque.

I've been here many times to eat. Mostly after 10 after work and every time we have had good service and food. I only have ordered the rib steak and ny steak, my husband the fish and chips and their homemade flammekeuches which he said was very good. No complaints here. Maybe they are short staff during the day ao service is slow. But I have always been a happy customer.

Thirsty? Perhaps a bit hungry?<br/>Don't want to travel outside of Kanata? Don't bother! <br/>Do you enjoy being insulted, mocked and treated like an obnoxious intoxicated individual (when you are clearly sober) by servers/bartenders while you're out with 11 of your friends/loved ones?<br/>Well this is certainly the place for you! Visit the 3 Brewers in Kanata where they will ensure you and your party have a very unpleasant experience. Where they will deny you or your friends any service, cut you off without any explanation and then ensure you are aware that your business was never welcome.<br/>I have never been so offended in my entire life. I will never be back.

Very Disappointing!. We were there on a Monday night. Waited a long time to get seated as no one at the door to greet us. Waited a long time again to get drink order. Beer was good but food mediocre. Burger tasted bland; similar to the other reviewer with a piece of kraft processed cheese not quite melted. Fish had a very thick greasy batter. Definitely the worst we've had. Atmosphere very loud - hard to have a conversation.
Generically Honest
Terrible food, average beer.. If you want a place to drink some for the price, this is the place to go. Atmosphere is decent, they always blast the music during the evenings. <br/><br/>The food here is absolutely terrible. Everything is frozen and the quantity is not below average for the price you pay.
Donya2101
Terrible Food and Service. The restaurant looks impressive from the outside, but not so impressive in the inside. The Chicken Brochette was horrible. It was chicken on a stick with no proper seasoning and poor barbecue sauce. The food portions and ratios were completely off. The food came too fast. Therefore, it was obviously pre-made. The staff was very rude and impolite. I do not recommend this restaurant to anybody. Food was poor quality and disgusting, and the staff was rude and unwelcoming.

Terrible Service. Been meeting with friends here about once every month since it has opened.<br/><br/>NEVER DOING THAT AGAIN.<br/><br/>Last time I was there we waited 10min at the front of the restaurant just to get seated! They weren't even that busy. Then out of nowhere the hostess comes from out of nowhere laughing and giggling with 2 of the male servers.<br/><br/>The people who work here suck. Plain and simple.
Cars.and.food
Beer is ok.. When I say the beer is ok I mean the bottle variety. It is actually pretty good. The food is crap. The music is too loud. The servers are not attentive. I don't expect much of places like this which is why I avoid them in the first place. It's too bad since this place could actually end up being ok.

The most important thing is missing.. Decided to try this place on New Years for an early dinner before a movie. The building looks very impressive, inside and out. Clean, well appointed with attentive staff. We were seated in a booth and had a look over the menus. The choices were varied, should be something for everyone. I ordered a double deluxe burger with a brown beer and my wife had a pulled pork sandwich and a long island iced tea. The beer was fine, the iced tea was small by comparison to any other restaurant. The issue was the food. 6 minutes after we ordered all the food was on the table. I don't often complain about food being TOO fast but that speed tells me everything is pre-done. I had to cut into the burger to make sure it wasn't still bleeding. The food in general reminded us of a 1980s Harveys, not bad but not fitting with the atmosphere of this place. Enjoy McCain Superfries at home? You can enjoy them here too! Want a side of mayo? Here's some Kraft Mayo packets to open for yourself. This place has so much potential, but why would anyone return when we can do the same at home for $60 less. Like 55% of people who dine here, we won't return until they address these issues. Hopefully management responds.

Pretty poor offering from this place i have been in Montreal and the food fare was much better there. I had the charcutrie which was terrible. Who puts sliced deli ham and a summer sausage with this dish?
Mark.farey
Great if.... This is a great place if you like drinking mediocre beer in a bus station! Noisy as hell. Definitely worth missing.
Leightrain
Had really high hour for this place when I saw it being built and the beer cars being placed, but the food is lack luster. The beer is good if you want just a drink before a movie. Ox Head or Aperitivo are a stone's throw if you are looking for some good food.
Larry
Beer was good food was awful. Lambshank was a grey piece of boiled meat over some very salty mashed potatoes.

Decent Food, Great Service. I don't drink beer so I can't properly comment on that aspect (I know, I know: it's a microbrewery. I went because my partner drinks beer. He said it was good, and on par with the stuff they serve at The Clocktower). They make a decent margarita, however. Too many places mix something that tastes like fruit juice and not an alcoholic beverage. While still milder than what I prefer, it wasn't bad. I liked it.<br/><br/>I ordered the nachos (because I wanted to be sure to have room for dessert) and was surprised that the chips were nice and crisp despite drowning beneath a very thick layer of cheese. I wouldn't say it was great, but that's compared to the nachos I'm used to from having grown up near the Mexican border. The ones I had at The 3 Brewers were good for being so far north, and are perfect for soaking up alcohol.<br/><br/>Dessert was my favorite part of the meal. I had the House Specialty. The mousse was light in texture but rich in flavor. The cheesecake was covered in a lot of raspberry sauce so it was hard for me to discern whether the cheesecake was delicious in and of itself, but it was still alright. The coffee was exceptional. Usually, the coffee in these sorts of places is nondescript or bordering on yucky, but the cup I had was really, really good. I'd go back for the coffee alone.<br/><br/>Last but not least, our server was awesome. She was friendly and attentive, without coming across as saccharin or otherwise trying too hard. She remembered the finer details of our order without having to write them down. All food and drinks were brought out in a timely manner, as was the cheque.<br/><br/>All in all, it was a very pleasant visit, and we plan to go back again soon.
Lindsay
Always a fan of beer and pizza (who isn't) but as a craft brew lover, I actually disliked their beer a lot and found their flat bread pizza was uncooked and soggy. My two experiences there were nothing spectacular and I won't go back.

No comparison to Mill Street. My husband and I went for our anniversary dinner labour day weekend and were not impressed at all. To start out of their 5 beers they were all out of the two we wanted to try... A brewery should not run out of beer. We were on a budget so we went with the less expensive steak dinner. Only after ordering did we see the ad on the table saying that on that day was steak day and the sirloin was the same price as the cheaper one and our waitress did not inform us. They were also out if vegetables so we asked for salad with house dressing. Their house dressing is simply olive oil on store bought ore made salad, the other side dish was shoestring French fries which were cold and lastly I asked for my steal to be prepared rare and received one well done. It was definitely not the culinary experience we paid for and will not be returning.

Good - not great - but solidly Good. 3.5 stars kind of good.. I was happily mis-informed by most of the reviews posted about 3 brewers Kanata. <br/><br/>For the most part, I took 3 brewers for what it is (or what I envisioned it is) - pub food, at a pub, with beer... nothing more, nothing less. I did not come to 3 brewers for fine dining. I came on a Friday night and assumed it would be busy. <br/><br/>Positives first: the beer was good. I tried a 6 beer paddle to get a sample taste of most beers (they are 3 ounce beer glasses (or less) for those thinking a raging alcoholic wrote this) – sadly the seasonal chocolate beer was not available – but most beers were tasty. I had read on another review that the white and blond were bland and that was spot on BUT the dark was yum and the 2 seasonals I had were pretty good (7 grain and something else). <br/>I ate the Star platter – most of it anyway – and it was ok. Came out hot(ish) and was mostly tasty. The potato skins were probably the best part of the plate and I am normally not a huge fan of skins. Steak was reportedly also pretty good (again, for a pub) but they use frozen fries so kind of lazy. <br/><br/>The iffy parts: A place that specializes in beer, should not run out of said beers. Period. <br/>Frozen fries are not cool in a restaurant/pub – ANY restaurant/pub. Especially when you make poutine with them. I am hopeful that all the freezer ready items are replaced with fresher alternative but again, it’s a pub chain and perhaps this is wishful thinking... At least get steak fries or something more substantial... <br/><br/>The Fugly bits: They were under staffed for sure. Our waitress, who did a great job considering (thanks Nichol), was looking pretty ragged by the time we left. There was a 25 minute wait/line when I got there at 8pm BUT there were empty table everywhere... they just had nobody to service the table so they were reluctant to fill them; pretty smart actually, except all/most of the tables left empty were visible from the door which was upsetting several people. <br/>Plating and presentation are pretty much non-existent; everything is put/dumped on the plate and take it or leave it, it is what it is. <br/><br/>The lines bottom: I walked in with zero expectations – or more to the point, I expected failure, but it was a good first experience and I would go again for a beer and an ap. My hopes for the second visit is that they have all beers available. I chalked many reviews up to ‘opening growing pains’ or misaligned expectations. It’s a pub chain... not a great pub, but certainly not the worst.
Kanata Corner
Good place to hang out. My very first time at The 3 Brewers. I will give a two thumbs up. Great appetizers and meals. The cocktails are not that great thought but the beers are excellent at a very decent price. I am planning to go back on the next parents night out again.

Only Got One Chance!!! And thats It. We frequently eat out and being Kanata residents we like to support our local restaurants.<br/>We have been to Three Brewers in Montreal and the food was Meh. We decided to try the new one in Kanata and the food was tasteless.<br/>Being a new restaurant you need to give it more than one shot even though none of our friends were impressed with the food either. <br/>I decided to give them another try this coming weekend and called to make a reservation for 20 people for my husbands 50th b-day. Oh they don't take reservations on the weekend, their policy. BUT the place is huge so we should have no issue seating 20 of us...just come in. <br/>Really...a party of 20 guaranteed Adults for dinner and drinks and you do not take reservations. Well business must be booming...good luck to you.<br/>Will not give them another chance! <br/>Glad they are so busy they can afford to turn down business. <br/><br/>BTW Darcy McGee's was more than happy to take our reservation.

Beer and environment is good, food is terrible. <br/>Go to drink, not to eat!

Went out to lunch on Monday afternoon, had a pulled pork sandwich wich was sweet and delicious ! Staff was exceptionally personable, Ashley and Andrea made sure my visit was something to tell my peers ! I will defiantly be back for dinner and to try more beers !!
Ashley
Great quality for the price ! Amazing service.. Overall very pleased with the atmosphere.. Managers on floors with welcoming faces adds a great touch !! Staff is Very knowable about beer and menus !! Defiantly my new spot !!
Andrea
Been a few times! Great food, great staff and a nice atmosphere! Will continue to go back! :)

Me and my friends went to 3 Brewers on Thursday night. Restaurant location and infrastructure is great. Great beers and food. We heard from other people and read some review that there are service and food issues, but I would like to mention to this people that this micro-brewery just opened up a month or so before. No business in beginning is not perfect and always have some issues like low staff, new service standard, staffs are in training and so on. <br/>Other thing I heard that they always run out of some beers. I had really nice conversation with our server who happens to be a bartender named Urvin. Urvin explained me that restaurant has been busy since the first day and apparently they are serving more customers than expected. So their brew equipments are not accommodating customers ratio. Although, I heard that they are trying their best to run everything smooth as possible. <br/>My request to the people who wrote negative review is give them some time, if you have any issue than ask for manager.
Lovefood
Great beer, great atmosphere. Love the look and feel of this place, great friendly service.... nachos and beer are very tasty :)

Style Over Substance. Our visit was a big letdown. We been looking forward to this place opening for a while due to its close proximity to the theatre. The place looks great inside and out, the music was a little loud but not too bad. My fish & chips were not good, they weren't bad, they were just bland. The fish was crispy and moist, it just lacked flavour. I had asked if I could pay to upgrade my fries to Maxi Fries but I was told no, I had to order them as an appetizer. I'm actually glad this happened, nothing could have helped the bland and limp fries they served. My date had the Thai Flammekeuche. She said it tasted just okay but it was a little dry. The service was terrible... No line at the door, less than half full, plentry of staff standing around and we couldn't get anyone's attention to get refill our drinks when we were getting low. We finished our meal nursing our drinks. They dropped off our our food and the server came by and asked how everything was before we had even picked up cutlery and didn't return until we flagged someone to get our bill. Until I hear things have changed significantly, I can't imagine a reason to go back.

Delightful. I don't know why everyone has such a hate-on for this place. I have enjoyed every visit. The atmosphere is amazing - Kanata needed a place like this!<br/>It's a sit-down nightclub at night which lends a great ambience to an evening out with friends. I have ordered many items from the menu. My favourite is the Flamms. Quite the variety of options which suits everyones taste.<br/>I enjoy the beer as well. As a wine drinker, I was never the person who ordered beer, however the seasonal Raspberry beer is my favourite closely followed by the Blonde (very light, easy drinking beer that pairs well with almost every food item). The service has always been great. Fun, friendly and educated staff. I have read through all the reviews on 3B Kanata and cannot understand how people think it's sub-par. <br/><br/>I have a friend who works there and I have received some information from them to explain some of the complaints.<br/><br/>Seating - The door is held because capacity is high and they need to control the volume of people coming into the restaurant to maintain a personalized level of service.<br/><br/>Quality of Food - The food is NOT pre-made and then shipped in. The wraps and quesadillas are prepared fresh daily in-house and then cooked to order. It has to be considered that the number of patrons this place accomodates on a daily basis along with the speed at which people are expecting to receive their food, requires this type of pre-preparation.<br/><br/>The food is NOT bland. It is PUB FOOD. Anyone who expects a 5-star meal is asking for too much considering that the menu is not a 5-star menu. The entire purpose of this restaurant is the BEER. The food is at the level of any other pub. It's a simple menu.<br/><br/>Service - Any experience of mine with the staff has been great. Yes, it is a busy restaurant and there is a SECTION for them to attend to, not just YOUR table. They are only human, have two legs and two arms - give them a break. I believe that people who are complaining about the service should work a DAY in a high volume, fast paced environment like 3B and THEN speak about the speed of service. Have realistic expectations people.<br/><br/>Anyway, I think 3B is a great addition to Kanata. It offers a unique dining experience and atmosphere. A lot of fun for those who want to go out, have fun and have a few great beers!!!!<br/><br/>CHEERS!

Sorry, not worth the trip. Went to the Kanata location on Friday, Aug 23rd. The wait was 45 minutes, even though at least 25% of the tables were empty throughout that time, both inside and outside. I inquired with the ladies at the front station, and they said they couldn't do anything about it - the young girls were clueless, really. Not trying to be mean, but they had no concept of trying to fix the problem, had no energy, made no effort. Polite girls, but it was sad, really. <br/><br/>Tables open everywhere, and we still had to wait, and no-one else was being seated either. Really, really poor organization! You know it's bad, when their own waitress was asking us why the long hold up, as we were waiting outside. She later whispered to me that she was embarrased by the lousy seating service. No manager in sight trying to fix anything. It was a bunch of kids, with no idea how to run the place. One of my group was told that the kitchen was backed up, hence the problem, but at the very least, we could have had a seat and had a beer. <br/><br/>Well, probably a good thing we didn't because the beer was, well, lousy! Sour, as the previous reviews mentionned. I mean, our avid-lover-of-beer guy couldn't drink the stuff. He tried a sampler and they were all pretty bad - the blonde was ok, but I had ordered that, and couldn't finish it. <br/><br/>I was thinking that maybe they were ill-prepared for large crowds, and that the beer had not matured enough. Found out they've been open at this location for about a month - well enough time to have worked out kinks for seating and tasty brew!.<br/><br/>Food was really bland, not seasoned - we all left lots on our plates. None of my group enjoyed our meals. No one finished their fries. Bun for a burger tasted like it was out on the counter for the day. Star Platter wasn't good - onions ok, but I've never had such dry stuffed potatoes and I thought the sour cream was weird - now I know it was frozen! :(<br/><br/>The place itself is lovely - the kind of place I'd go to all the time - lots of space, great decor, good lighting. for the cost / investment, they need to make significant changes in food, brew and service. Overall, a real disappointment. Too bad.

Keep walking!. I don't like to complain about a restaurant while they are going through opening pains, but the food here was offensive.<br/><br/>Three of the four beers we tried were sour. The food was beyong sub-par. Horrible, pre-processed burger patties with a Kraft slice instead of real cheese. Plated with a mayo packet and stone cold fries. For $15? They aren't even trying. <br/><br/>Just don't. We waited 40 minutes to even be seated, and that was what we got at the end. Really, just don't.

Horrible! We went here as I love brew pubs. I was looking forward to a great blend of beer and food. Instead 3 out of 4 beers we tried were sour, the burgers were grey tasteless manufactured patties, the cheese was a Kraft single slice. They even dumped a single pack of Kraft mayo on my wife's plate ti accompany her burger and stone cold fries. Very sub par beer, and even worse food. The only positive I can say is that they comped us the meal. I feel bad for the waitstaff trying to serve this place's excuse for beer and food.

I usually really like their food but the Kanata one's food was flavourless. My husband had the Thai salad and I had the Tex Mex salad. Both were aweful. Hopefuly they get better.

Big Letdown. Living in Kanata as a 25 year old, I've always felt the pub-life was a little weak. When I saw the construction of the 3 Brewers, I was excited. Especially for the patio. Me and my buddies went about 2 or 3 weeks after it opened. Overall, it was a letdown. <br/><br/>The food was average, at best. The portions you get are no where near what they should be for the price. And I don't know what pub doesn't have chicken strips and fries on their menu. I usually never get that, but it's generally a customary dish for a pub. Especially for picky eaters. Found that odd.<br/><br/>The beer was horrible to me. I am not a fan of a ton of citrus in my beer, so I was out of luck. Would be nice if they offered some regular brews for people not so into homemade citrus stuff.<br/><br/>The service was not great, and confusing. There was a random dude serving us the food, while our waitress just brought us beer and asked how everything was. I am not going to tip that much if someone else brings the food. With plenty of staff I thought the service would be great, but we had to wait to get someone to show us a table and the waitress didn't seem that concerned with us.<br/><br/>The building is nice and the patio is neat, but the overall experience was lacking. Probably will be sticking to O'connors as my go to pub in Kanata.

Food Allergy Beware!. Called ahead as my son has a nut allergy and their site indicates they have open nuts in their bar area. I was assured they did not continue this practice anymore for allergy safety and would be able to accommodate a nut allergy in their restaurant. My family and I went for lunch. Upon arrival we spoke to the hostess' at the front door to re verify what we had been told on the phone in regards to accommodating food allergies and they were happy to welcome us and set us up with a table. Once our server arrived at our table we placed drink orders and then spoke to her and the new trainee about our sons allergy. The senior server immediately told us that they do not accommodate nut allergies and would not accommodate us for lunch. Clearly we could not stay and we immediately went back to the front hostess, whom were very apologetic but chose not to do anything about it. As an allergy mom I do not have any expectation that a restaurant accommodate if they are not trained or simply choose not to. My expectation is that when I seek out an establishment, I call ahead, I reconfirm upon arrival that they have their stuff together that their staff know and understand their position. 1 in 13 Canadians have serious food allergies, and any respectable cook can prepare a meal cross contamination free, for those who do your audience is much larger:)

Disappointing. Beautiful inviting restaurant. Food was horrible. Asian Chicken salad that was really just a regular salad with peanut dessing. Was missing over half the ingredients that were advertised to be in it. But the worst part was $7.50 for just over two ouches of their house wine. That is gouging your customers. We will not return. But it is a beautiful restaurant.

Unbelievable!!. Just had the worst experience ever!! They were out of amber beer. Our waiter didn't take our starter order til he took our main order and the main came first. We didn't have enough cutlery. We sent all three main orders back. One salad was warm, the cheese wasn't melted on the pizza and the fries weren't cooked. They brought the Star Platter (starter) then which wasn't bad. Then our meals arrived for the second time. They were ok but not great. Then they didn't have boxes for take home so wrapped it in tin foil. Then to top it all off, they presented us with a bill for the full amount. No discount, no incentive to come back. Needless to say, we won't be back.

Overall disappointment. I was hopeful that the majority of the reviews of the 3 Brewers were not true.. at least regarding the food. The one in Kanata is still new, so I was hoping any kinks they might have, would be worked out. <br/><br/>We were a party of 6, so we started with the Star Platter, which was typical greasy pub food and I actually enjoyed. We got a pitcher of White Sangria to share which was very tasty. The guys ordered the beer and seemed to enjoy it. So as for drinks, they are doing fine. <br/><br/>The food.... well, I ordered the poutine burger because it sounded fun and delicious. Turned out to be really bland and the beef patty didn't seem like real ground beef, seemed processed and like the frozen kind you buy at the store. I've made much better patty's at home. <br/><br/>Others ordered: <br/>- Fish and chips - enjoyed<br/>- Double deluxe burger - no complaints but not a rave review either<br/>- Braised lamb shank - enjoyed<br/>- Manhatten Flammekueche - way too much raw onion and bland<br/>- 3 Brasseurs sauerkraut - mediocre <br/><br/>Service: I guess overall it was ok.. we were first served an appetizer we didn't order, so they took it back to the right table. Once our star platter was served, we didn't have napkins and she served the appetizer with 3 plates with I found odd seeing as we were 6.. but we just shared or ate with our fingers. <br/>The two boys ordered the kind of beer suggested to go with their meals just before their meals arrived.... well the beer arrived just as they were finished eating so that wasn't so great. <br/>On the up side - we were there for a birthday and our waitress brought out a complimentary piece of Molten chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream, along with an espresso. The cake was nothing special but a nice touch. <br/><br/>Overall, very disappointing for such a nice restaurant with huge patios, nice decor and space but unfortunately, I don't think i'd be going back anytime soon for food.

I've been there twice and once I ordered the salad which was disappointing since it didn't come with a dressing and the second time I ordered the poutine which was pretty good. Nothing special though. The atmosphere is a cool place to drink but I wouldn't pick this place to go eat supper. Overall, it was alright. Definitely not my favorite place.

I get that this place is new but we were really not impressed. The ceasar salad was horrible. My husband orderes thw mussels and more then half were empty and the rest cold. I had a pizza or whatever they call that limp thing. Kids had poutine and even they didn't eat much so that says alot. Overall not great for such a huge and new place. Too bad.

Honestly, I understand this place is new so it needs time to work out its kinks with the food. Like most other reviews have stated, the food isn't very good. Hopefully that changes because the restaurant itself is a nice open concept with 2 patios. The main thing that really turns me off about this place though are the people working there. I have been 3 times now and I really hate the service. Pretty much every person I have encountered, has been rude everyone seems super angry. I consider myself to be friendly and polite, especially to people in the service industry as I have been there before, but it isn't the case here. Everyone walks around like they have better things to do and act as if they don't want to be there. Overall, the beer is good, the restaurant is new and for the time being busy, the food is really not great and the people are mean. I hope a manager reads these reviews and they decide to better than their employees because if they don't, this place won't last.

Terrible experience. Don't even know where to start.... My girlfriend and I ordered the star platter as an appetizer, I got the Texan burger, and she got the chèvre chaud. <br/><br/>For starters, the appetizer was mediocre at best. The sour cream was frozen solid, we couldn't even dip with it. The onion rings were okay, nothing special about them. My girlfriend liked the mozzarella sticks but I found them to be the same as any other restaurant. As for the potato skins, they were decent but that doesn't save the dish. All in all 5/10 for the appetizer.<br/><br/>Then we got our main orders. The chèvre chaud was terrible. it was advertised as warm country bread topped with goats cheese, fresh tomatoes, cilantro and olive oil with a side salad and fries. When my girlfriend got her meal she was thoroughly disappointed. To start it off, the bread appeared to be taken from a loaf of dempsters from the local super market. It was topped with not goats cheese, but Brie cheese and diced tomatoes. The worst part was the whole meal was stone cold. The salad was practically spring mix with olive oil and as for the fries, cold and dry. She rated it 1/10 could have made a better meal at home by far.<br/><br/>As for the burger, it was equally bad. I order burgers a lot when I eat out, now I am by no means a "connoisseur" but I know a good burger from a bad one. It was supposed to have jalapeño cheese, crispy fried onions and a spicy mayo. The burger was in a word, bland. It appeared to be a presidents choice frozen beef burger, which tastes good, but nowhere near worth $15. The cheese had no jalapeño flavoring I could taste, and the onions tasted like oily batter. No hints of spicy mayo whatsoever. The saving grace was there was a tasty chipotle sauce they have on the side for your fries, which I had to douse my burger with to make it tolerable. I had one fry and gave up because they were totally flavorless. Overall I give it a 2/10. <br/><br/>As for the service, the food and drinks came timely, but our server was nowhere near sincere. She came by half way through to check on us, and my girlfriend wanted to order a special beer they had, raspberry I think, but before I could utter the words "my girlfriend would like" she was long gone, which I personally find to be very irritating when I am paying 70+ dollars for a meal and drinks. 3/10 for the service, only positive was speed of food arriving.<br/><br/>The single shining star was the beer which I will admit was delicious, which is expected from a place like that.<br/><br/>Overall, I would give it a 2/10. The only way I recommend it is if you aren't getting food. If your just going for a few drinks its a great spot, but if you are looking for a good meal, try any one of the other restaurants in centrum because this was by far the worst.

Awful Pub Food!. This was some of the worst pub food Ottawa has to offer. Nothing is made fresh in this bad chain restaurant from Montreal. Everything is pre made and shipped from Montreal in the morning. I would go as far to say they are serving yesterdays food to patrons. After being told they had run out of fish and chips they really didn't leave much except burgers and some open face sandwiches that didn't sound appealing. I got lucky if you could say that. I only got ripped off for a bad poutine. Who uses frozen fries and cold curd to make poutine in this region? You guessed it The Stale Brewers. You would think a restaurant could come up with a good gravy NOT! My IPA was the best thing on the menu. The blond was lifeless and limp with no body or character. The chicken quesadilla had stale cracker tortilla with dry cubes of flavorless unseasoned chicken with a dusting of shredded sandy cheese with a few onion pieces chopped up in it. The whole thing fell apart as you ate it. My friends upgrade from frozen fries to poutine along side her quesadilla smelled like cigarettes. My wife ordered the lam shank it came overdone and dry as well with some green beans that were inedible. I really do not understand why Ottawan's pay these prices for this poor quality food.

This place is horrible. I've been to a couple of them in montreal and sparks street and they have all been awful with service and food. In Kanata it took 15 mins to put our drink order in, only for them to come back another 15 mins later to tell us they don't have the beer or wine in stock. Our food order took forever as well with a salad of all things and had 3 burnt steak strips on it. Not worth it all all. Much better brew houses in Ottawa that's for sure.

Terrible service, worse food. Great beer. Would never go back to this one. The 3 Brewers in Montreal is amazing. Hard to understand what went wrong here!

Just had dinner service was very good, food great, and it didn't cost us an arm and a leg. O'conners your days are numbered. OUCH

Wendel. Love the beer and atmosphere, fun friendly service. The place is as big as the theatre next to it and has a TV and audio system to match.

What a great place. I love the meter of beer. Great atmosphere and a great open concept. The two patios are a bonus. Definitly a place to go for the beer and stay for the food.
