Review Lexus Resto Bar - Ottawa

Booked on Wednesday for 8 people for a birthday party on Sunday for a 90 year old mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Due to power outage we were denied the reservation that was booked 5 days earlier!! They had lots of customers already. Really sad that power was working but did not honor the booking. Guess where 8 people will never go again?? How do you put a negative star??

I love smoked meat and it's very good here, thick slices fresh rye bread. Cosy bar and big dinning room. It's not in a very conspicuous location but that's ok too. Breakfast is also very good.

A FAMILY FRIENDLY RESTAURANT WITH A GOOD SELECTION OF MENU ITEMS FOR PLAIN AND SLIGHTLY MORE ADVENTUROUS DINERS. STAFF ARE FRIENDLY AND EFFICIENT, FOOD QUALITY AND QUANTITY ARE VERY GOOD. WE HAVE DINED THERE MONTHLY, ON AVERAGE, FOR ABOUT FIVE YEARS AND ARE ALWAYS HAPPY WE WENT.

4.1 star review. Apparently people, in Orleans, do not know what good food is. It will make it easier for Trudeau to push cricket protein on this demographic.

If I could give less than one star I would! I made a phone reservation for 8 people on Wednesday, May 19, 2022 for Brunch on Sunday, May 22, 2022. I called around 10:00 am on Sunday to ensure Lexus Resto-Bar in Orleans was open due to Saturday's power outage. I spoke to the owner who said that yes, his restaurant was open. He then said that he would not honor my reservation because of the power outage and the number of people already in line for brunch and then he hung up on me!!! How rude and obnoxious of him to do this to a customer!! I will not be giving him any more business for sure! Please join me in boycotting Lexus Resto-Bar in Orleans!

Great food, at reasonable prices. Very good value. Friendly waitresses.

Every experience I have had here was a good one. Seated within seconds, great food and good variety, friendly & attentive service all around. Always a place I return to several times yearly for various occasions, birthdays, friend gatherings etc. Very recommended.

Ambiance like no other place. Everytime I eat here I am reminded why Lexus and Luxury go hand in hand. The food never has a hair in it and the drinks are always wet and great at removing thirst from the sandiest of palates. Try the water, tastes like a mountain stream running down through a flower meadow. They serve with precision, always landing the plate on the table. Always wondered where half of Orleanians go to eat, now I know....they eat at Lexus.

I will keep this simple. The owner is rude and has no customer service skills whatsoever. I feel bad for my parents that are regulars. Who in 2017 charges for refills of pop...??? A few special demands <br/>were met with a 'will see it is busy'...!!!??<br/>I could go and on. The simple truth =This place survives on its senior citizens loyals.<br/>When they die so will this place.

I was actually surprised by the quality of food. I don't know why I had such low expectations but I have been here twice now and both times have been pleasantly surprised with my orders. My husband is obsessed with their pizza. But other menu offerings are very good as well. We will definately be back. The service is excellent and I really like the atmosphere.

The food was good, but the bill was a BIG surprise. My spouse and I decided to go to Lexus for a Saturday evening meal with our two kids (10 and 7). My son ordered the 'Bugs Bunny Burger' for $6.95 and asked to change his fries for a caesar salad (nice healthy choice); the waitress told us there would be an upcharge, which we were fine with. My spouse also ordered a burger and fries for $11.50. Only after I paid the bill and the tip, did I notice that my son's burger and salad came up to $11.45... a $4.50 upcharge for a kids meal caesar salad?!? AND $2 for a small chocolate milk. So a kids meal came up to $13.45... and not even a desert?!? Absolutely outrageous! When I approached our waitress and asked for an explanation, she (almost sarcastically) said 'I did tell you there would be a surcharge.' I asked to speak to the manager, she pointed to him, and since he was only a few steps away he had overheard part of our discussion. When I asked him for an explanation, he muttered something, didn't really give an explanation, and he barely offered an apology. He then offered me some change from his pocket. Now, we were also insulted. I told him to keep the change, said we would never come back, and we would tell everyone we know.

The 1.5 is because the shrimp cocktail and bread was good. Other than that I ordered the rib and shrimp combo, the ribs were totally disgusting, the rice very bland and overcooked, served with frozen vegetables. The breaded shrimps tasted as tho they had also been frozen. I wasn't offered a replacement for my meal or anything. The lady said "Oh... Would you like to bring it home?" When i said i didnt like my plate. Would never go back.

How do they stay in business?. Probably the rudest servers and staff I've experienced anywhere in the Ottawa area.

Chicken parm & alfredo. Wow.. Overindulged in the chicken parmesan and fettuccine alfredo dish - it was really good. Exceeded my expectations by far - it was delicious. <br/>I'd return and do recommend this restaurant.

Unbelievable experience!! And not in a goood way!. A group of us went to this resturant before a show at the shenkman art centre- we were coming from out of town and running late so we only had time for drinks and apps. The waitress was prompt and apps were fine. As we were finishing a bus boy was clearing a table behind us when I assume a manger/ boss came over and started swearing at him telling him to shut the f**k up multiple times! All the patrons within ear shot stared in disbelief ! Unreal!!!!!

Friday night dinner. Went there not quite sure what to expect, restaurant was vey busy but we were seated quickly and our food orders were brought to us in a reasonable time, food was good and was good value for the price, I will go back again.

Great food and service. My husband and I went on Saturday, 29 Nov, for supper. Our first time there and we didn't read any reviews before we went. We arrived around 6 and there were only a few people in the restaurant at that time. Our server took our drink orders and returned with them shortly afterwards. She asked if we were ready to order because it was going to get busy very soon and it would be good if we ordered right away. She was right. Shortly after we ordered, the place started getting really busy, everyone was coming in for supper before the Christmas Parade of Lights. Before we knew it, the restaurant was full. It didn't take long for our orders to arrive. I had the Scallop Mornay (it was delicious, but if you don't like a lot of onions this isn't the dish for you). My husband had the spaghetti with smoked meat - it was huge! He said it was wonderful - great flavors. I can't comment on any of the desserts because we didn't have any - we were too full. A very nice restaurant, friendly server, and great food.

Owners are horrible. Jimmy and Irene are the worst owners and business people I have ever met. Rude and ignorant. Would not recommend this place. They make you feel uncomfortable and rush you up. Horrible horrible ppl

Dessert menu. Excellant desserts ! Besides the yummy cakes, there is also a fresh fruit cup. I am diabetic, and usually other restaurants only have cakes, which I cannot eat. There is quite the variety of fruit, in a big cup.

Eggs runny, waited 20 min for bill

Best Ever *****. We have been going to the Lexus for a while since the food is great, we have not ever had a bad meal. The servers are friendly, the restaurant is clean. The smoke meat is to die for, they have daily lunch and supper specials which comes with soup or salad for a good price that you would not get anywhere. Its one of the better family restaurants in Orleans as well as St.Hubert, and Willies Chineese Takeout. I recommend the Slouvaki Platter one of my favourites. This restaurant is worth the drive you wont be disappointed.

I'll be back --NOT!!. Went to this restaurant with a group of five friends for a simple weekend dinner outing. What a mistake that was. Waitress was friendly and finally took our drink orders after a 15 minute wait. Another 15 minutes to bring three drinks to the table and more time before our food orders were taken. Our group then had to wait another 45 minutes for the food to arrive at our table. Good, we now had food and dry drink glasses and some water. The steak looked like it had come out of a meat press with pasty gravy, the smoked meat sandwich was very fatty on stale bread with soggy fries, the lasagna did have some meat in it –two thin slices of pepperoni with a colouring of tomato sauce, the pizza had a crust made of recycled cardboard, the breaded chicken parmesan with lumpy alfredo doodles that tasted like old fish & chips. That was the good part of the food, veggies and side dishes were sub-par.<br/><br/>We had waited 1-1/2 hours to get our food and were so hungry we actually ate some of our dinner. We did get a basket of bread for our table of six, but only with four buns in it. We asked why the food was soooo late, and were told that the restaurant was very busy –we counted 22 people, including ourselves in the largish restaurant. If the service is this slow with less that two dozen people in it, what would it be with more people, two hours to get food?<br/><br/>Stay away from this one, bad food, poor service, waitresses can’t count to match buns to guests, watered down drinks, but it has lots of parking and free space at the tables. Your mileage may vary.

Best smoke meat in Ottawa area IMO. I can't say I'm a smoke meat connoisseur but I do like it from time to time. I haven't had better in the Ottawa area. I talked to a few others that have had it here and they all agree. Everything else I've had here is also very good.<br/>They definitely cater to regulars here though. "Outsiders" can be made to feel a little uncomfortable.

Cold reception. We decided to try our local restaurant, after being seated we felt unwelcome, every other table got a basket of buns and a smile. We decided to get the Jumbo smoked meat platter to share since every plate we saw being delivered was huge. Our platter came with a small sanwich and barely enough fries for one person, we saw the same platter being delivered to a close by table oberflowing with fries and a huge sandwich. The taste was fine but not worth $ 16.95. We also saw our waitress ask every table how their food was, not us. I am all for t'regulars'etting special treatment but how does one know that I won't turn into a 'regular' Won't be back to get the cold shoulder.

Worst restaurant experience ever. Wow...What a horrible experience I had here. I went to Lexus bar after a long day of work to ask if they did take out. I was really craving a poutine with some smoked meat. i arrive and ask the man who was seating people if they did take out and he replied yes and handed me a menu. I replied that i was already ready to order. He then went on to sit other customers as i waited, which was fine i was in no rush. When he returned i TRIED to place my order when i was informed that what i wanted was not on the menu and therefor i couldnt order it. I thought he was joking (since they serve poutine AND smoke meat...i mean really its not that big of a deal). This man (who turns out to be the owner) starts freaking out on me telling me 'I know who you are i know who you are'. I have no idea what he's talking about since we have never met before?! He then tells me to 'get out' of the restaurant.<br/><br/>I am seriously upset by this. I was never rude to this man at all. i work in the restaurant business and NEVER have I refused an order so simple and NEVER have I freaked out on someone like this ESPECIALLY considering this guy is the OWNER. <br/><br/>I went back today to talk things over and he refused to talk with me. He just walked away when I tried to ask him why he would treat someone this way. <br/><br/>I am very very upset and will not return here. I have quite a few family members and friends that will also never be returning. I would never treat anyone this way and am shocked that the owner of a restaurant would.
