We stumbled across Pho Kam Long, which we were excited to try seeing positive reviews. To start with service—upon being seated our server did not provide us with any water or tea (and didn’t until the end of the meal when we asked). She was very overwhelmed with the dine in guests, 3 tables, and delivery orders coming in as there was only one chef in the kitchen.
To make matters worse, we were told they had run out of rice for the rice dish and offered noodles instead. We opted to wait for a fresh pot to be cooked. Luckily, although the portions were small—and unlike other Vietnamese rice dishes— the stir fried pork (instead of pork chop) was flavourful and tasty. The pho broth was also delicious and not overly salty. Overall, the food made up for the lack of service and attention to detail.

I would never recommend you to come here. The service is terrible, had to wait very long for my meal. But first, coming into the restaurant I didn’t even get a chance to look at the menu fully. The server comes and stands there while I looked at what to get didn’t even give me a minute just badgering if I was ready.
The food was not good at all. Ordered a dish expecting it to be what I had at other places and what I grew up with, no not authentic or they even tried at all. Fish sauce was terrible. Did not give me any water or ask for drinks. Did not give me utensils. Had to wait and ask after giving us the food.
Do not ever come here, you’ll have your time wasted and the food will not satisfy you. They do not care about customers.

The service was HORRIBLE. The waitress was incredibly rude. If I wanted a lecture, I would've just stayed home. Our group had some questions about the food and she was very impatient and would angrily point to the menu. The whole dining mood really turned sour after talking to her. I would've let the horrible service slide if the food was good. Unfortunately the pho broth was veeerry salty, which is honestly sad. I could barely drink any of it. The "Large" was fairly small as well.
I couldn't wait to get out of the restaurant after the meal. Just an unpleasant experience overall.

Went there for lunch about 2 weeks ago and really enjoyed the calming effect this restaurant had on me as soon as I walked through the door. The waterfall sound at the entrance is a great perk. The food and service were also very good.

The portion is interestingly small, the regular is like kid's meal. Flavor is so so, if you have a second option, I'd suggest you go to that one.

Excellent food: really crisp noodles, well prepared mixed sea food, delicate tasty sauces that complement the food rather than overpowering it. Their fried banana rolls are a taste treat; Vietnamese coffee, made with sweetened condensed milk, is a surprisingly good accompaniment. Attentive and expert service, traditional koi pond, and a quiet ambience despite its proximity to one of the busiest arteries in Ottawa are solid pluses.

I had B11, a vermicelli with chicken and spring rolls. The taste was there take out was quick but the portion was so small for 11$. I'm not generally a big eater at lunch but I was really hungry after eating my small portion. There was a small amount of chicken and barely any noodles and really what do rice noodles cost? I so wanted this to be my go to restaurant but sadly that's not going to happen.

The thing about Pho is that every restaurant makes it differently. We've gone through a half dozen different restaurants over the last 16 years and have settled on Pho Hoa Nam as the best that we can find. The broth is rich and the meat and noodles are well cooked. I've always liked it because the spices are similar to a chicken soup I grew up eating with cinnamon sticks, star anise seed and black pepper typically used. You get a nice big sprig of Basel (Mint?) and the usual bean sprouts and piece of lime for each person. The home made sate sauce is now at the table (watch out, spicy) and the service was fast today (and always was at the old location.) All in all, I see no faults with the food, and that is all that matters to me. The new location is nice looking by the way, with quite a few tables . I'm so glad that they have reopened in their new location. By the way, lots of parking where they are in between the Beer Store and The Works on Fallowfield.

Pho Hoa Nam is a wonderful restaurant with a great homey environment! I come here for lunch at least twice a week. The food is excellent/fresh and the restaurant is very clean. The service is prompt and the owners are very nice and helpful. They always cater to your special food requests and help you with what to order if you're ever unsure.

Not sure if this place has moved but the new pho place isnt bad. The broth is super light and they boil they're own stock with bones so you're not drinking soup laced with salty flavour powder. The only downside is that the noodle portion isn't amazing even with their largest size. The staff were super friendly though and they let us stay past lunch closing

The food is pretty good, but stick to the pho. The other dishes that I tried (also Noodle dishes, vermicelli and chicken noodles) were underwhelming, and bland but the pho was good. Very kind service in my experience.

Ate dinner here with my daughter (age 14) recently. Restaurant is clean and food was very tasty. My daughter doesn't eat meat and there were several veg choices on the menu. She had the veg rice noodle soup with tofu and veggies, she really liked it. I had the grilled pork special, with noodles and lots of great veggies. It was yummy and satisfying. The portions were perfect. The bean sprouts were just a tad tired but the other veggies were great. The owner was courteous, interesting, and the service was great. I'll be going back since it is so close to home!

Beware.<br/>I called for pick-up and the man wanted to argue and pretend he could not hear what I was ordering, it was very odd. When I arrived to pick up my order, I requested hot sauce and again an argument that I didn't want that sauce and that I wouldn't like it-weird! Got home to find that my order was all wrong. It was the food he was reiterating to me on the phone that i was not saying. I will never ever go back. It's all wrong!

Went in there Wednesday afternoon. I ordered the vermicelli dish with chicken and spring rolls, i asked the guy twice that it was chicken because i was out and the only menu i could see was the one online which is outdated. He (owner) assured me he was giving me chicken. I get home and open it up and he had given me PORK! What a CHEATING LYING SHYSTER!!! NEVER AGAIN!!

A Clear Winner. I've had the fortunate pleasure of dining at Pho Hoa Ham several times and have never been disappointed. The food and service is always excellent. This is my 'go-to' restaurant when I get the urge for Vietnamese food!!

This is my favourite place to go for pho. P.29 is the best and I get the A5 shrimp rice wraps to start..... Soooo good. They are so nice there and sometimes bring you complementary orange slices. I like that they give you green tea as well :)! Always a plus.

Not the worst, but not the greatest either. I came in on a pho craving occasion and I was by myself. When I ordered I asked for a medium but ended up getting a small, that's okay though he just charged me for a small and it was just miss communication. The tables I find make the place a little squishy, but that might just be because I was alone possibly. They didn't leave a memorable impression if being a good or bad place.

I was first skeptical about this place but my wife wanted to try it out one day so we did. We had the rice paper rice and I had the sate beef and my wife had pho. We liked our stuff very spicy and they made it perfectly spicy. It was amazing from food to service to their decor. I honestly never had anything as good as the food here. Have been visiting 3 times a week since last year.

Down hill. We have been loyal customers since they opened, have not been for a few months...popped into for takeout tonight to discover that they have raised thewir prices almost 25%...what business does that. I guess that explains why there was not one customer in the whole place at 6:45 on a Saturday night!
